Back of the info card

Exclusive Ant-Man t-shirt and Arc Reactor coaster

A T-Shirt For Ants - Value $10?

So far, Comic Block has had my favorite shirts of all the geek boxes, and with this month's exclusive shirt, they have gone 3 for 3 in my book. This month is a large graphic Ant-Man t-shirt. While I wish the shirts weren't the really heavy duty Gildan shirts, this is still something I'm keeping!

Arc Reactor Coaster - Value ?

There are some really impressive light-up Arc Reactor coasters out there - this is just a graphic one (it almost feels and looks like a large button). I like this as the small inclusion this month, and I'm using it right now!

Comics included are Lando #1, Nagative Space #1, and Star Trek/Green Lantern The Spectrum War #1

*Note: I'm pulling the values from the retail price off the comics themselves.

Lando #1 - Value $3.99

To my surprise, this was my least favorite this month. I can definitely see this run getting good, but I wasn't to interested in continuing after issue #1. Also - this comes with a bonus digital edition of Secret Wars House of M #1 - I'm excited for that!

Negative Space #1 - Value $3.99

I'm on the fence of continuing this one. While there wasn't a character that I was pulling for, or tied to, it did have a unique and interesting storyline. I may pick it up in the future, but there is just too many other really good runs right now!

Star Trek/Green Lantern The Spectrum War #1 - Value $3.99

This was my favorite this month, hands down! I would say that I have a passing interest in both franchises, but I absolutely loved this story and the illustration style - and it's a DC/IDW crossover with a Comic Block exclusive cover, so that's cool too. IDW is absolutely winning my heart with this, TMNT, and Ghostbusters! Looks like I need to try out the Star Trek run too!

Verdict: I really enjoy Comic Block quite a bit, and this month is no exception. I'm using all the items from this month's block already! The value in this box, as well as other comic subscriptions, is in the curation and discovery - and so far I've loved all the comic boxes I've tried and you'll be seeing more and more comic box reviews from me in the near future - enough to possibly do and end-of-the-month showdown!

What did you think of this month's Comic Block?

Have you ever tried the Comic Bento? If you like comic books I really think that it’s the best. It only costs a couple dollars more than this but instead of three or four comics you get four or five graphic novels. I have yet to get a box that didn’t by itself cover the value of a three month subscription. I’d be interested to see My Subscription Addiction review it.

… And yet another box I’m going to have to sign up for… looks awesome! Thanks for the review. I have a similar shirt already, but I’m a little Ant-Man crazy right now.

I get this for my husband and he loves it. He especially LOVES the shirts. He gets a ton of compliments for them from his buddies at work. I can’t wait for next month. He is having such a great time with this sub. Whenever it comes he perks up like a big kid….lol

Negative Space is very good. It’s nice seeing a unique storyline about character and expression rather than more superhero crap or more spinoffs from existing properties.
