COCOTIQUE Beauty Box Review - August 2015 - 3

“Each month COCOTIQUE will ship to your door a specially curated deluxe box filled with 5-8 sample size and full size beauty and lifestyle products.”  This month’s theme is inspired by the 2015 Ubiquitous Hair&Health Trade Show.  I believe that the brands received this month will be in attendance at the show.

COCOTIQUE Beauty Box Review - August 2015 - 10

Egyptian Magic All-Purpose Skin Cream (2 ea) 3ml - Value: $2.00/ Full Size 4oz $39.00

I’ve never heard of this before.  It’s a cream that you can put all over your face and body. The main ingredient is olive oil and beeswax.  It feels exactly like Vaseline Jelly, I can’t say that I would ever buy the full size version, it’s too expensive.

My DNA Defining Custard FULL SIZE 8oz - Value: $9.99

Styling gels like this work great in the kids hair.  I have one from another brand open now. So this one will be next on the list.

COCOTIQUE Beauty Box Review - August 2015 - 13

Zapzyt Acne Treatment Gel 0.25oz - Value: $1.50/ Full Size 1oz $5.49

I don’t have any acne products in my daily routine. I’m glad to have this to try for my occasional flare ups.

You B-Natural Botanical Smoothing and Defrizzing Creme - Value: $1.50/ Full Size 6oz $8.98

The perfect travel sized hair creme. I’ve never tried this brand but I’m loving the fact that this creme is petrolatum, paraben and mineral oil free! And it doesn’t hurt that it smells like candy.

COCOTIQUE Beauty Box Review - August 2015 - 14

BeFine Assorted Skincare Products (2 ea) 0.34oz - Value: $4.00/ Full Size 1.7oz - 4oz $24-$30.00

According to the insert card, subscribers could received a variety of samples from this brand. I received the Gentle Cleanser with Sugar, Mint, Oats and Rice and the Pore Refining Treatment Scrub with Coconut, Jojoba and Citrus.  I love samples that can be used more than once and I’ve never tried these before.  I’m most excited to try the scrub!

Cover FX Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment 0.16oz - Value: $6.00 / Full Size 1oz $38.00

I squealed when I saw this in my box!  One of my favorite beauty youtubers was just talking about this primer.  It’s a little more expensive than the Becca primer I use now.  So I can’t wait to compare the two.

You guys probably think I’m crazy, but I don’t live near any major department stores. So getting samples like this delivered is a real treat for me.

Creme of Nature Argan Oil Pudding Perfection 1oz - Value: $1.50  Full Size 11.5oz  $7.99

This is a nice sized sample to be “free”. I was hoping to get a different sample from Creme of Nature considering I just received a full sized defining custard in this box.  I’ve never tried this particular creme, but I think I’ll put it to the side for now since it’s sealed.

Milani Quick Dry Top Coat FULL SIZE 0.34oz - Value: $3.99

I shouldn’t be excited to receive a top coat, but I am! Abi and I have been receiving a ton of nail colors lately and my son likes to get his nails done too. So, he was so happy that he got a new clear polish.  It’s the little things.

COCOTIQUE Beauty Box Review - August 2015 - 18

Verdict:  Overall, I’m very happy with my box this month. I find my box’s value at $30.50. We have a real purpose for the two full sized items and most of the samples.  I’m also enjoying the fact that Cocotique is introducing me to brands I’ve never heard of before.

What did you think of the August box for Cocotique’s? Did you get anything different?

Also, not a woman of color, but read the review because the hair products that actually help my curls are usually marketed as such. The Creme of Nature Facebook page occasionally has “free sample” pack I managed to catch one a while ago and asked for a sample. They sent me pouches like the one in your review but there were so many of them, I had that same sample, some gel, and IDK I can’t name them all off the top of my head because there were a lot of samples. I have to say that they smell so beautiful and are just really great products. I put the gel in after my hair is dry to smooth the curls and my curls are awesome! Almost zero frizz with tight lovely ringlets. Just had to pass it along because I was so wowed.

Oooo. Be Fine is really good stuff, and I am dying to try that cover fx primer. Great review on a great box!

I wish this box had more makeup items, rather then skin and hair products. Those things I can find easily, but make up specifically for black girls would be a nice thing to have a box for.

Yep. That’s the downside of this and We Are Onyx. Maybe the Essence box will be better.

I am not a woman of color, however my natural coloring is “different”, which results in my wearing a makeup color palette that is not normally what would be sent for someone with my coloring. I have found that Cocotique’s samples work really well for my skin tone, and there are always new things for me to try. After reading your review, I’m excited about getting this month’s box.

I like Cocotique. Pretty happy with this months box. Except didn’t get the primer. The DNA custard is fab. Put it on while my hair was wet. Could not believe how defined my curls were. They were popping!

I am not a woman of color, but I so love reading your reviews! I too share your love for samples because we do not live near any department stores either.
