Each box comes with a card detailing the items included. The theme this month is Combat.

1UP Box Subscription Box Review – August 2015 - shirt

Link vs. Ink Shirt - Value $10?

This month's shirt features a pirate Link battling a squid. I've never been a big Zelda fan, so I wasn't too excited for this shirt - but I'm sure any Zelda fan would be excited for it.

1UP Box Subscription Box Review – August 2015 - dorbz

Funko Wolverine Dorbz Vinyl Figure - Value $10.61 on Amazon

This is my easy pick for favorite item this month. Wolverine is one of my favorite characters since way back, and I love collecting wolverine vinyl figures and status, so it's an easy way to my heart, for sure. The new Dorbz line is slowly growing on me more and more, probably the same way Funko's POP line did, and then all of the sudden, I owned 100 POPs.

1UP Box Subscription Box Review – August 2015 - pokemon

Dragon Stress Ball - Value $3-4?

Next up is an exclusive Dragon Ball stress ball. If you've read my recent reviews, you'll know I like getting stress balls in boxes - I'm using the Rubik's Cube one while I'm reviewing this box!

Catch-Them-All Sweatband - Value 5?

I can't find this exact sweatband online - so I'm really just guessing on value. This is a Pokemon sweatband - this is another one where I'm not a huge fan of the subject, so I'll probably be gifting.

1UP Box Subscription Box Review – August 2015 - pinCombat Sticker - Value $1?

Combat Panda Patch - Value $3-4?

The last two items are exclusive for 1Up. The patch is a Deadpool Panda bear, and the sticker depicts the likes of Mega Man, Pikachu, sonic, and others in their combat positions - fits well with the theme!

Verdict: 1UP Box definitely delivers on value. Last review I said that it feels like a geek box focused on a younger crowd - and I think it makes sense for these items as well. And I think they're definitely doing a great job for a younger audience while still including items that I love - like my Wolverine Dorbz figure!

The Squid Link is fighting is from Splatoon 🙂

I had to look up Splatoon. That makes sense. I also thought maybe it’s Inkay from Pokemon. I couldn’t ask my kids because it is to be a Christmas gift from their aunt. She’s trying to purchase a second shirt for the little guy. Splatoon makes much more sense! Thank you! Things like that drives me crazy not knowing what it is.

I only recognized it because I’ve watched some game play on youtube. It looks like a lot of fun!

I believe that the t-shirt is a takeoff of Link battling an Octorok. I think Octoroks are in almost every Legend of Zelda game. I know more than I ever want to know about Legend of Zelda because my teen loves all things Zelda. We have cats named Link and Zelda. Plus a farmcat named Midna (from a Zelda game).

My sister bought the box based off the spoiler theme. She is using it as Christmas gifts for the boys. Good job sis! My older son is going to love the t-shirt, Wolverine Dorbz, and the DeadPool patch. My younger son will enjoy the other items.

I wish I could have all of the Zelda stuff you don’t like. I’ve loved it since I was 7 when I rented A link to the Past from Blockbuster.
