Honest Company Essentials Bundle Review – July 2015 - shampoo and wipes

Honest Organic Body Oil - Value: $9.95

This is a staple in our house. We use this oil from head to toe and will continue to repurchase it over and over. I love to slather this on the kiddos after bathes, before bed. It’s like getting a mini massage and they get so relaxed. Great stuff, can’t say enough about it. I only wish it came in a bigger bottle.

Honest Company Essentials Bundle Review – July 2015 - Wipes out of container

Honest 3-n-1 Facial Towelettes - Value: $6.95

This is a newer product from Honest. I don’t know why I was expecting them to look and feel like the diaper wipes. They’re super thin, no scent if any, and leave a slight film, almost slimy, until it completely dries. I took off my eye makeup and did not experience any sting. That’s an A+ in my book. I’m not calling them favorites yet, but they do the job.

Honest Company Essentials Bundle Review – July 2015 - deodorant

Honest Deodorant in Vetiver - Value: $8.95

I originally ordered the Lavender Vanilla scent, but when my shipment date neared, they sent me an email to pick something else, sigh… just call me Snooze and Lose. Oh, well! This is my second deodorant from Honest. I’ve tried the Bergamot Sage and I liked it! The key is to spray a layer, let it dry, do your makeup or something, then come back and spray another layer. It will last the duration of a typical work day. This scent is pretty, blah. Thank goodness for perfume.

Honest Company Essentials Bundle Review – July 2015 - toothpaste

Honest Company Essentials Bundle Review – July 2015 - toothpaste opened

Honest Company Essentials Bundle Review – July 2015 - Toothpaste close up

Honest Toothpaste - Value: $5.95

Honest Kid’s Toothpaste - Value: $5.95

We also repurchase the Honest Toothpastes over and over. I would say we probably reorder every 3 months. They come sealed so you can stock up and/or purchase as an add-on if you’re not quite ready for your next open toothpaste. Toothpastes are also available in travel sizes. The only thing that’s missing are new flavors...can we get bubblegum, kiwi-banana, or something?!

Honest Company Essentials Bundle Review – July 2015 - Coupon

Gymboree Coupon - Value: 20% off entire purchase

I also received another 20% off coupon for Gymboree that expires at the end of July. I don’t count this towards the value of the box. They are nice to have, but I’ve already received one last month in the diaper bundle. I’ll pass this one over to a friend.

Honest Company Essentials Bundle Review – July 2015 - all items

Verdict:  My family and I really enjoy the Honest Company. There isn’t a dollar amount that you can put on the value of this service as a whole. The convenience is life-changing and I can’t imagine not having them in our home. We tell all our friends and young parents that we meet about it and we even turned our housekeepers onto the service. It’s just that great to have!

I am an another happy customer of Honest products. My favorite items are: organic oil (I use for my toddler fall through spring and it has subtle scent that goes away quickly, which I like. I also wish it came in the bigger bottle!). Liquid laundry detergent (I substitute with Babyganics detergent when I don’t have enough to order the bundle), Multi-surface cleaner, Floor cleaner, Shampoo/Body wash (for kid, again mild scent!), and healing balm. I tried body lotion and I wish it came in pump bottle. I feel good about using safer products at home. Anyone tried shaving oil yet? I am thinking getting it for my husband.

I like Honest products in general, but I really dislike the mint toothpaste. Poor texture and not very minty IMO. I prefer brands like Toms of Maine or Jason, both available at my grocery store in the natural section.

I also wanted to like the deodorant, but found it just didn’t work in the hot Houston spring or summer. I’ll have to try two applications like you recommend though!

But I can definitely recommend the lavender vanilla room spray (divine!) and the mouthwash!

I will be receiving my second bundle this month. I, too, love the body oil which was in my first bundle. A big reason I joined is for the laundry detergent. But I’m on the fence about that one. I’m not sure it cleans as well as my previous detergent (All Free and Clear). Anyone have thoughts on that? Tried the body scrub; love it. Bought the sunscreen but haven’t used it yet. (Have TONS of sunscreen in this house and we haven’t had that much actual sun until the past two weeks.) Love the healing balm.

Liz, do you (or anyone) use the Oxyboost? I have that scheduled for my next bundle but would love to hear reports about it’s efficacy.

I also use the Oxyboost pacs on occasion. But I also get the “3-in-1” pacs and use those pretty regularly. Sometimes I’ll throw in an Oxyboost for towels or a load of whites or really dirty stuff if I’m using Method liquid laundry detergent.
Like Liz said, I’m not sure I can tell a difference in my clothes, but overall, I haven’t had any problems with clothes not coming clean. That being said, I only have one 7 year old son who gets dirty, but nothing extreme.

I do use the Oxyboost packs. I think they work well – it’s one of those products though where I can’t tell a big difference in the clothes though. (Maybe I’ve just been using them for so long I can’t tell anymore!)

Wish I had a housekeeper or two to turn onto a subscription service! 🙂

I love their stuff and have been using their shampoo, bubble bath, laundry stuff, etc for about 2 years. Now you’ve got me wanting to try the body oil. I use oil in the winter before I dry off. It’s a life saver for super dry skin. Thx!

I’ve been slowing trying to convert more of my face/body care products to natural ones and I’ve been on the fence about trying The Honest Company for a while but I think I’m willing to give them a try now. I love body oils so I would definitely add that to my bundle, as well as the face towelettes. Although I’m not usually a fan of natural deodorants, the scents they have sound nice! Most natural deodorants I’ve tried in the past smell a little too “earthy” for my preference. Thanks for the review!

I received my first bundle yesterday. I was surprised by how quickly it was delivered (within 3 days of placing my order!). I tried the body oil, facial towelettes, Mandarin foaming hand soap, Bergamot and Sage deodorant, and Lavender and Vanilla Air & Fabric freshener. I really like the body oil and may order the facial towelettes again (they do make your skin feel slightly slimy immediately after using them but there was no sticky residue when my skin dried). I wish the mandarin scent in the hand soap was more noticeable but it works just fine. I ended up not liking the sage scent in the Bergamot and Sage deodorant so I will try the Lavender and Vanilla scent next time. I absolutely love the Lavender and Vanilla fragrance in the air freshener! I will definitely keep that product in my bundle for regular shipment. Thanks for the introduction to The Honest Company!
