Bobbi Brown Discover Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink/ Steel Ink- Value: $5.00?

Get the precision of a liquid liner with the ease of a gel-based formula. The eyeliner glides on smoothly and precisely, then quickly dries down to a long-wearing, water-resistant finish.

Verdict: This bag was well worth the cost of $37.05.  But, it’s not anywhere in the same family as previous Nordstrom bags, and I’m disappointed that last year’s bag had a bigger sample of the Smashbox primer, a smaller version of the same Clinique Moisture Surge and two perfume minis compared to one freebie sample. And I have to mention that everything with exception of the GlamGlow Treatment and Estee Lauder Bag are labeled as “Not For Sale”.

I normally ask what you all think about the bag, but when Liz posted the “spoiler” and “now on sale” posts, a good number of you let us know what your thoughts were. I thought this would be a good opportunity to hear some of my favorite opinions of MSA viewers, and I hope that the good folks at Nordstrom take heed to what you all had to say:

MelissaH. July 17, 2015 at 3:24 pm - This Hautelook beauty bag was about as exciting as Amazon Prime Day was. Easy pass.

Christina July 17, 2015 at 11:41 am - This seems like something you would get as a gwp but with a nicer bag. It’s a nice idea but I will pass.

Carla July 17, 2015 at 11:21 am - So disappointed! I signed up for Haute Look this week JUST so I could snag this item and was eagerly looking forward to Friday. Not picking this up – not worth it at all. Thanks for ruining all my Friday morning fun Haute Look!

Angel July 17, 2015 at 12:48 pm - So I wonder if someone is getting fired today LOL. Major fail.

Michelle July 16, 2015 at 10:50 pm - I can’t believe you have to pay for this. All the fabulous gwp’s …who is in charge of their marketing.

Becca July 16, 2015 at 7:55 pm - The selection is lackluster but I might have gone for it if it were $15 with shipping included. Deleted the alarm off my phone. My actual reaction to the spoilers and price tag are not safe for the comment section. So I’ll just say “uh no.

Tamara July 16, 2015 at 6:52 pm - Wow. I can’t believe how much this pales in comparison to previous bags. It almost seems like a mistake! “Oops, sorry, we accidentally cropped out part of the pic with the other half of the products!”

Don’t know why my posts are duplicating.

Did you actually use the products? This review is weird. It seems like you just copied the description from the insert. At any rate I’m glad I passed. These are all free samples.

I missed out last year but am so glad ai passed on this. Seems like a rip off. Most of the items are freebie size and not for sale.

Never a good sign when your favorite product is the bag lmao! That Smashbox primer is really great, but a foil packet is only enough for one use! Yeesh.

After seeing the contents, I’m so glad I did not get this one. those bags are no where worth $10 and the sample sizes are almost the size you can get just for asking. Add shipping, if you don’t order $100 or more from Hautelook, and it’s an even worse value.

The Clinique and Estee Lauders samples are what you get in those free with purchase bags. I wouldn’t put a value on them. The Smashbox, perfume, and eyeliner are basically free samples you would receive at a makeup counter. I wouldn’t put a value on them. The only thing that I would have actually put a value on is the makeup bag, the Clinique chubby stick, and the Glam Glow (which is still sample size, but its an awesome product). I think the most I would have paid for this bag is abou 4 bucks… and it still would have felt like a rip off.

I’ve gotten much better from Ipsy (and birchbox) for $10. This is a total fail and to not acknowledge that makes me start to wonder about just how much influence the sellers have over your reviews.

Disappointing. I’m glad I passed.

I didn’t get this one after seeing the contents. I was so looking forward to it because I heard great things about the previous ones, but no way…this was just horrible. I wouldn’t have even paid $10 with free shipping.
