FYI - GoodeBox is making pricing changes starting August 1st. (Thanks Wendy for the heads up!). Here are the details:

Each box comes with cards detailing each product.

GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – July 2015 Acure

Acure Brightening Facial Scrub - FULL SIZE! Value $10

I love this scrub! (And the Acure brand in general). It is pretty gentle, has a nice refreshing spearmint scent, and it leaves my skin very soft!

Mullein & Sparrow Body Oil - 1 oz Value $15

This body oil is scented with organic lavender essential oil. Lavender is one of my favorite scents, so this is perfect for me. I also love the glass bottle and simple packaging.

GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – July 2015 Tanner

derma e Evenly Radiant Brightening Day Cream SPF 15 - .5 oz Value $7

This cream is a little on the thick side for a day cream, so a little will go a long way with this cream. I like the derma e brand, so I'll definitely use this entire sample.

Suntegrity Natural Self Tanner - .5 oz? Value $3

This sample doesn't have a size listed, so I'm estimating on the size/value. I like the scent of this self tanner (which isn't something I usually can say), so I'll try the sample out, and possibly buy the full-size if I like it. (This sample is only enough to try out on a patch of skin - not enough for a full application).

GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – July 2015 Mascara

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Mascara in Blueberry - FULL SIZE! Value $18

This is one of my favorite mascaras for a natural look - I buy it every few months, so it's great to get a spare in a subscription box! The formula actually smells like blueberries, and this shade has the slightest blue tint - nothing too bold looking though.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $53. I'm happy with the value and the sample sizes this month. Plus I always love the brands GoodeBox features. Now I'm curious to see how the August box measures up with the pricing increases.

What do you think of the July 2015 Goodebox?

I’m so intrigued by this. I always tell myself I want to go more natural in my skin care products, but then I look at a box like this and I don’t recognize any of the name brands, so I have no sense of if they’re good, if they’re worth the prices they say they are, if that’s what they’re actually being sold for or if they’ve jacked up the prices to make the box sound like a better deal. Any advice?

I agree, I held off a month or so before I signed up for Goodebox, but finally did after reading through a bunch of reviews and comments. And I love it. Most of the brands are new to me as well, but I’m loving them (July was my first month). I love the Acure scrub and 100% Purity Spot Treatment the most so far, but haven’t used the sunscreen stick yet. I think I had 3 full size items (and the free lipgloss deal) and 2 smaller sizes. So I think for the $20 or so that I spent, even if I only use 2 or 3 items, its still a good deal bc I’d probably spend at least $7 each on a decent scrub, acne cream or face sunscreen at Target.
You fill out a bunch of questions at the beginning so you’ll get items catered to you and so far for me, the first 5 were exactly what I’m looking for. There’s also a list of brands on their website you could check out and look at those reviews.
But overall, I think its a great deal, I’ll definitely order more Acure and 100% Purity products and would have never known about them if it wasn’t for this box.

Thanks, I’ll check out the brands more. It’s cool that they give full-size products. I appreciate the input!

I use natural beauty products, and some of these brands are still new to me! I already use a lot of Acure products and really like them, so I appreciated getting a full-size Acure product. 100% Pure was new to me, but I love the mascara. The rest of my box was different than Liz’s, but I discovered a new company with this box – Angel Face Botanicals. I have already ordered a few items from them since trying out the toner I received in the July box.

I think this is a good subscription box if you want to try out some natural brands! The prices are pretty accurate, so I feel there is definitely value to the box.

Thanks, Randi! I appreciate the response. Right now I have a backlog of other products, but I’m going to file a mental note away to look into this more in a couple months.

Mailbox Junkie

I signed up for this box for 6 months so I think I am locked into my current rate until Nov. That being said I am glad I will have a few months to see if $21 dollars a month is worth it. I hate to say this but I feel like the box value across subscribers is varying. I would like to see them give an idea of what is promised per box ie. 2 full sized organic products and 3 samples or a promised retail value. My box value this month was $37 which is great for the $16 dollars I paid for it and I am totally happy but I am not sure I would feel the same way if I paid $21 for the box.

We get two boxes, one for me, which is always amazing, and one for our 12-year old. She looked at hers and said, “It’s like someone knew my skin needs lots of work. This is just perfect!” She was so happy. She got some fabulous products, and so did I. I can’t name them right now, but this is the best, best subscription, ever!

goodebox is the only beauty box I sub to regularly now, since they do a good job at customization, which is extremely important to me. I’m okay with the price increase if the box gets better. As far as postage it did go up a little, so I can understand that aspect of the increase.

I’ve gotten the Lavender body oil in a prevous box. I dont like lavender yet I like the oil. Good quality and the bottle is classy looking. Lavender oil has been used as a bug repellent, therefore I’m liking lavender more so.

My box included new and prior items (from last month) – Acure scrub, Yarok Feed Your Shine, Grace toner, Suntegrity self-tanner, and Mullen & Sparrow facial oil. The Acure, M&S, and Grace items are my favorites, and I’ll probably buy them all when I’ve used up these samples. I purchased a six-month subscription last month, and highly recommend the longer term subscriptions to save on the cost. This is a box I consistently love month after month!

The grace toner sample i got is almost gone already. It’s the Oh Darn item because now I have to go buy a full size.

The Grace toner smells so good! I actually ended up ordering eye serum from Angel Face Botanicals after trying out the toner. Darn these puffy eyes!

Laura

Hi Andi,
I am curious to know if you have tried the Yarok Feed Your Shine yet and if you have, what did you think of it? I really like their leave-in conditioner.

Off topic sorta, I m not sure if you have tried “SKINFOOD extravirgin olive Essence hair treatment serum ” from MeMe box. I ended up getting one in swaps, and got another one online. – It is one of the best products I’ve used without it feeling sticky.

Andi

Yes, Laura, I have tried the Yarok, and I’m a bit indifferent about it. I prefer the Lavina Argan oil I currently use, since it leaves my hair much softer. The Yarok doesn’t condition much, and I honestly haven’t noticed much of a difference in the shine (although my hair is blonde, so it’s harder to tell if my hair is glossier than usual). I really wanted to love this one, too!

Randi

July was my first month too and I love it! I ordered the mystery box last month and liked it so I debated between this and PV, but decided to go with Goodebox and I’m so happy I did.
I received the Acure scrub, derm e cream, an all good sunscreen stick, 100% Pure Purity Spot Treatment and some type of hair oil or serum. I love the Acure scrub and will definitely order more from that brand.
The derm e cream is a little thick, but I used a little of it with a little bit of my normal face lotion and its great. Also been using the spot treatment and so far love it too!
I’m very happy with the value of the products, I think I had 3 full size products (scrub, sunscreen stick and spot treatment) and I also got the free lipgloss.
Thank you Liz for all of your reviews!

This month’s Goodebox has been my favorite of all that I have received. They have become my second favorite box behind Kloverbox. This month I got the Acure Brightening Facial Scrub (haven’t tried yet), 100% Pure Spot Treatment (which has been working pretty well for small breakouts and tube should last a really long time), All Good SPF 30 Sun Stick (haven’t tried yet), Yarok Hair Serum (did not like smell), and Oneself Hawaiian Flower Lei Perfume Oil sample (which I think smells wonderfully sweet like honeysuckle). I received the Lavender body oil in a previous box and liked it too; especially since the lavender scent isn’t overwhelming. I don’t mind the small price increase because I like that they actually accommodate my product preferences in their in depth profile questionnaire. I find that most beauty related boxes either don’t offer any customization or seem to ignore your preferences. Plus, Goodebox indicated that they will be including more full size/deluxe size products which I always appreciate because sometimes it takes a while (more than a couple of uses) to figure out if a product works for me.

July was my first month subscribing to Goodebox, and I loved it!

I received samples of toner, face serum and perfume instead of the day cream, body oil and self-tanner that you received.

Also, you are correct that the blue of the blueberry mascara is not very bold. I have dark lashes and you can only tell there is any blue if you look very, very closely!
