Handloomed Drawstring Backpack by ApiHappi - Value $30

The spoiler picture for this box shows this backpack in blue, so I'm guessing there will be variation in colors for subscribers.

I've received a few drawstring backpacks from subscription boxes in the past, and this one is definitely the highest quality one I've seen. The fabric is very durable, and the construction is so well-done. (I also love that it has an interior zipper pocket).

At first look, I was a little disappointed in this color choice since I was expecting blue from the spoiler, but the color is growing on me!

globein-july-2015-bar

Kuli Kuli Crunchy Almond Bar - Value $2

This bar is made with just dates, almonds, agave, and moringa. I'm always excited when a snack in a subscription box is gluten and dairy free, so I tried this right after taking the picture. Unfortunately, this bar was OK enough for me to take a second bite but not to finish it. I think I needed more flavors besides dates and almonds.

Shea Mosquito Repellent by Lulu Life - Value $8

I haven't gotten a chance to test this out for insect repelling yet, but I like the formula. It's a shea butter so you apply it like a balm, and the lemon eucalyptus scent is refreshing.

GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box Subscription Review – July 2015

Mr. Ellie Pooh Travel Journal - Value $15

This journal is made with elephant dung that is bailed, sanitized, and pulped. The result is a clean, odorless, eco-friendly paper. (I even had my dog give it a sniff test to verify the odorless part!)

GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box Subscription Review – July 2015 Pages

And the pages even say "Printed on Elephant Dug Paper" on every sheet!

globein-july-2015-basket

Palm Leaf Basket – Value $12

Each box comes with some of the contents packaged in a palm leaf basket. (I think I get a different color each month – they’re great for storage).

Verdict: This box has a value of about $67. I think the value is good, especially considering the items included support fair trade. And I think they did a good job with the Wander theme this month too.

What do you think of the July 2015 GlobeIn box?

I received 2 green bags. Is anyone interested in swapping a blue or burgundy for a green?

Can any of you tried the mosquito repellent? Would you tell me if it was effective? Scent? I didn’t get this box, but I am looking for a ingredient-conscious mosquito repellent for my upcoming trip to the mountains with the family and may make a single purchase. Thanks!!

I haven’t used the mosquito repellent on a trip yet, but I’ve tried to put some on. The smell is strong when you try to smell it from the bottle, but it’s pretty refreshing when you actually put it on.

Ok, thank you!

Nancy M.

Their customer service was wonderfully helpful and patient in my dealings with them.

I just love GlobeIn! I’ve received them for about 5 months and they just keep getting better! I got a deep wine colored drawstring backpack. It’s made so well and has a handy dandy zippered pocket inside. I tried the Moringa Crunchy Almond Bar. I took a small bite, but didn’t want anymore. I’m happy I got to try it, though! I love the scent of the Lulu Life mosquito repellent…lemon eucalyptus. I haven’t tried it yet, but will soon. Ah…the elephant poo paper journal…what can I say. This is one of the most unusual, and fun, things that I’ve ever received. I will find a special use for it. Looking forward to the August box!

I got my mini box yesterday and received the blue/denim colored Apihappi bag. I really like it! I will admit that I was expecting the poo journal. More than likely I will buy one because now I’m interested in it lol!!!

Continued…… I even like the box it came in with the word stickers and artsy design.

i received my mini benefit box yesterday. I really didn’t know what to expect. I received a green basket with a green apihappi cinch sack! I’m so pleased with it. One side is gradient green stripes and the other side is solid light green. I didn’t know the size basket I’d get but it matches my blue and green bathroom so I popped in an extra roll of toilet paper and used it as a decorative holder for now. Ill get a lot of use out of the cinch sack. I like to hike and camp and thought it’d be good on the motorcycle too. After reading the artisan stories I feel great about this subscription! I even lokecyhe

My Benefit (mini) box came today!!!

SPOILERS AHEAD…

It is indeed the ApiHappi bag! No surprise there, and I am happy. My bag is the same color as Liz’s pictured above and I think it’s lovely. 😀

I got mine yesterday too! I love the basket but was definitely hoping for the journal and not the bag. It’s not something I’d ever use. I guess it will go up for sale or swap.

I got mine today too! I got the bag in a sort of blue/denim color. It is surprisingly well made.

I was half expecting the journal. I knew either item would make a great gift for someone I know. (I was sort of in it for the basket! Although, now I’m really interested in the elephant dung paper products!)

Me too! I love this sub, so glad I subscribed. The basket is larger than I expected and matches my bedroom and master bath.

Tamara

I used to think that the baskets would be really big. As in, enough to put a few pieces of clothing into. Then after I subbed, I saw some pics that made me think they were teeny. Fitting in the palm of your hand, teeny. So I’m pleasantly surprised with the size of it! Really happy! 🙂

Do the baskets vary in size much? If so, how much, I wonder.

Symi

I got the red Verizon of the bag. Love it!

My box – well boxed basket – came in yesterday. My backpack is the color of red wine, and I love it! I didn’t think I would be this happy with the bag based on the spoiler pics I’d seen, but besides absolutely adoring the color I got, I also concur with Liz’s review above regarding how well made it is. Definitely the best cinch bag I’ve owned. I also like that the basket this month – at least mine – was slightly taller than the ones in my previous GlobeIn selections; I thought they would always be the same size and the variety is nice. I almost would continue with this subscription just for the basket… As for the moringa bar, though, I thought it was almost inedible. I had never heard of moringa before, but if that was the ingredient giving this bar its predominant taste, I’ll definitely never be trying it again! Far grosser to me than the dung paper notebook..which may actually be tastier, though I won’t be trying it…. 🙂

Looking over this, I wanted to add that in so much as moringa apparently is a miracle food both in terms of the nutrients it packs and the economic benefit it provides to people in Ghana and elsewhere, I’m glad this box included it and am sure many people (probably?) somewhere love it.

does anyone know when the mini boxes ship?

Mine shipped on the 16th and is expected to be delivered Monday! Can’t wait to see what’s in it!! 😀

I just had to order. I always come back to this box – it’s so unique! The baskets alone make it worthwhile. So cute and practical. I’m traveling soon and figured the backpack would be useful, as well as the mosquito repellant. I’m a sucker for journals and have plenty, but will gladly add this into the mix. Such a fun box and an even better cause. Love GlobeIn!

Oh my, that elephant poo journal is amazing! That has to be the most unique item ever to be included in a sub box. I just placed an order on their site. They have lots of cute stuff.

PA Anna

I had a dream about this box the other night. I was in the woods drawing the scenery using the notebook with the backpack laying next to me.

Reply ButtonReply

Tamara

That sure beats the dream I had last night! 😀

PA Anna

It felt peaceful 🙂

Jessica

I am really loving these boxes, this is the last out of my three month sub and I will be resuming =D

Tamara

I can’t wait to see what the Benefit box gets!! I suspect it will be either the backpack or the journal and shea butter.

I love the journal, but I have to admit that I wish it were one of the adorable ones with elephants and such on the cover. 🙂

Ann

Me too! I thought the ones with the elephants on it are super adorable!

This one sounds so great, I’m excited about everything, especially the repellent!

Poo paper?! I just…well. That’s awesome and horrifying all at the same time. Lol

Reply ButtonReply

WendyW

And I am pretty sure that everyone on my Christmas List is getting some!

Reply ButtonReply

Tacie

Hahaha you two! I thought the same thing – horrifying and amazing. Who’s that guy who does the show Dirtiest Jobs Ever. The place that makes these journals would prolly qualify! I think it’s super impressive that they can make paper out of dung. I wouldn’t mind if that was my item in the Benefit basket.

nana

The travel journal has to be the coolest item *ever*. I hope someone puts it up for swap, otherwise I’ll just have to buy it for my husband 🙂
