The Kinder Box Subscription Box Review - May 2015 Box

Kinder Box is a new men's subscription box. They focus on everyday "carry" items like pens, bottle openers, etc., outdoor adventure items, and grooming products.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Kinder Box Subscription Box Review - May 2015 Stuff

Rebels Refinery Skull Lip Balm - Value $8

I guess this is the "manly" version of an eos lip balm? 🙂 (Extra photos of this skull lip balm below).

Craftsman Soap Rough Stuff - Value $6.50

I like that both of these products are made with all-natural ingredients. The soap has a very subtle clean scent.

The Kinder Box Subscription Box Review - May 2015 Lip Balm

This lip balm is moisturizing and super minty! My husband loves it and it looks good on his desk so it is a win!

The Kinder Box Subscription Box Review - May 2015 Socks

North Standard Cotton Camp Socks - Value $12.50

These socks are a wool blend designed to remove the itch (50% Wool, 25% Acrylic, 25% Nylon).

GearTie Clippable Twist Tie - Value $4

These GearTies are flexible to you can make they hold various things and then attach them to your keys, belt loop, etc. (The Amazon product page has some good in-use photos if you're curious!)

The Kinder Box Subscription Box Review - May 2015 Knife

TAC-FORCE Pocket Knife - Value $12

I couldn't find this exact knife online, but looking at the various TAC-FORCE knives on Amazon, I think the price is about right.

The Kinder Box Subscription Box Review - May 2015 Blade

Verdict: My husband really liked this box! (He asked me a few times if I was done reviewing it yet so he could start using all the items - definitely a good sign). The value nets out to about $43.50, which is a little more than the cost of the box. I'd like a slightly higher value at this price point for the box, but I'm still really impressed with the curation of this box. These are all brands that are new to us, and I think Kinder Box does a good job at covering a section in the men's subscription box category that hasn't been addressed yet.

What do you think of Kinder Box?

Looks like an updated review is in order due to the overwhelming comments on poor customer service.

Fair warning on this box: I’ve had tons of issues with receiving the boxes, and if you look at their Facebook page, you’ll see tons of other subscribers in the same boat. It’s a great box, if you actually receive it, but zero customer service around the multiple issues.

I’ve actually had to escalate through PayPal for resolution, since they completely ignore customers.

I bought this box for my husband so he wouldn’t be so mad at me for all the other boxes that I have gotten and now he wants me to buy him a full subscription to it he loves it.

I previously purchased a three month gift subscription for my husband. He loved it and so did my teenage boys. Each month had a nice mix of items. I had wanted a specific box to start for his birthday in January and had other questions. The customer service was quick with responses and very nice. I was impressed. Their prices did increase since I originally purchased his subscription.

This looks like a good box. I too was thrown by the name, thinking a “kinder” box was for kids.

This looks like a nice box my husband might enjoy. I might have to give it a try.

Emily, you can use the code KBOX10 for a recurring 10% off a monthly subscription plan, or KBMEMSHIP for 10% a three or six month plan and I think it works for their products too. If it doesn’t work, just email them and they should be able to help you out.

I think this is a fantastic box! I bought the February box back in March I think, for my brother, I wanted the whiskey stones, candle and scrub. I contacted customer service to see if I would be able to get those items and they said that was the February box and they still had some available if I wanted to purchase one. My interaction with their customer service was amazing, they were super nice, responded very quickly to my emails and shipped it out really fast. I’m so impressed with their customer service, it’s like Birchbox’s but better. I like the mix of items, it’s not just “beauty” products, it’s a lot of great lifestyle ones. I would definitely gift this box to my boyfriend, brother, brother in law, anyone!

Ha, I actually thought this box was for children when I read the name of it!

This looks like a really nice box! I think there is a shortage of boxes targeted at men so happy to see this. 🙂

Their website says “We are veteran owned and operated. We are proud to offer military discount to our members.” so that is awesome as well.

One of my brothers is a police officer and the other was in the military and they would both really like this.
