Ipsy Review – June 2015 Bag

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Ipsy Review – June 2015 Pure

dr. brandt pores no more blackhead extractor mask - .25 oz Value $11.25

This mask is free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, etc. and you only have to leave it on for 5-10 minutes! I've used it before and liked the results, so I'm happy to have more.

Pure Brazilian Miracle Leave-In Conditioner - 1 oz Value $6

I just tried this out on dry hair (the instructions recommend towel-dried hair), and so far I like the formula. It's very lightweight, and the scent is pleasant.

Ipsy Review – June 2015 Primer

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer - .25 oz Value $8

Thanks to subscription boxes, I never need to buy primers. This is another product I've tried before and really like - the formula is lightweight and the finish is smooth.

tresStique Mini Shadow Crayon in Aspen Pine - Value $10

When I first opened my bag, I thought this eyeshadow crayon was missing its cap! (The pencil-looking top is the actual cap). This is my favorite discovery in the bag. The formula is super pigmented, and it goes on so smoothly. (Swatch below). Plus it is free of parabens and synthetic fragrances!

Ipsy Review – June 2015 Lip

Shea Moisture Lip Crayon in Sarah - FULL SIZE! Value $10

I've sampled Shea Moisture products before, but I didn't know they had a makeup line! I like this lip crayon, and I might buy it in another shade. This Sarah color is a pretty bold fuschia with some shimmer:

Ipsy Review – June 2015 Swatch

Verdict: I'm really happy with my Ipsy bag this month. The items total to about $45 in retail value, and the sizes of all the products included are great. What did you get in your June Ipsy glam bag? Did anyone else get fooled by the eye crayon cap?

Hey which one do you seem to like more? Birch Box or Ipsy? I am trying to decide which ones is better because I want to subscribe to one but I am not quite sure which one to subscribe to?

The eyeshadow crayon fooled me, too! I got the Smashbox primer, which was awesome because I love it and this way I don’t have to buy it. This month was my first Ipsy bag, and so far I’m very impressed.

Ipsy Care is seriously fantastic: this was my first month subscribing to glam bag, and do to postal carrier issues and apparently larcenous neighbors, I never got my bag that was “delivered” a week ago. Emailed Ipsy Care this morning to ask if I could purchase another “copy” of my June bag, and within half an hour they replied that they would be sending me a new one free of charge, even though it’s not their fault my carrier delivered it to the wrong box and the person who got it instead decided to commit mail theft. Seriously one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had.

Got my bag today! I received:
Mini eyeshadow crayon in Aspen Pine
Jules & Esther facial serum
Aurora gel effect nail polish in 4 alarm fire (looks like a hot pink)
3 BioRepublic purifying fiber masks
Too Faced melted lipstick in melted candy. ( very, very bright pink)
Overall very pleased, I just wish these lipsticks and glosses lately were not so bold and clown like.

I got: Ofra Turquoise eyeliner (love it!), Smashbox Primer (scrumptious and smooth, but I don’t like feeling make-up all over my face-I prefer powders. Still, very nice for what it is), Trestique shadow crayon in Kona Coffee (I haven’t figured out how to make this rich brown work for me yet-but I saw the pink one and liked it), X nailpolish in a summery pinky-coral (wearing-enjoying so much!), and the eye cooling patches I haven’t tried yet. I’m going to put the eye patches and some of the other samples like oils and lotions in a pouch just for a special spa event I need to plan for myself and maybe share with a friend.

By the way, has anyone tested whether the bag floats like in the picture? I know that is funny but inquiring minds like to know. 😉

I love the bag! It feels like neoprene..like a wetsuit, which is fitting for the swim theme. All the things were a win for me…if I loved makeup. I mainly subscribe for skin and hair care and found lots of winners. I will have to say that I am a convert to the turquoise liner…it amps up my eyes and I need it because I wear glasses. I love the LaVanilla lotion. I’m received the shadow stick in Kona coffee color. A pinkish coral nail color. Primer.

Ipsy has sent me Too Faced melted lipstick before and I absolutely hate it lol so I am sooooo glad I didn’t get another one.

I love my bag. I got the Smashbox primer,Formula X nail polish in bright pink, full size IT cosmetics eyebrow pencil in taupe,a cucumber face mask and the eye shadow crayon in pink pearl. I also got Skyn Iceland eye patches that I used my points for. I will use everything and love love love the nail polish and eye shadow colors. The cucumber face mask feels amazing at the end of a hot Summer day. I can always use primer and I love the Smashbox brand. IT cosmetics is a new to me brand so I’m happy to try it. Great Ipsy bag!

The IT Cosmetics brow pencil is a deluxe sample size, not full size.

It is annoying when people complain so much about there ipsy bags.
It is only $10 a month. They have over one million customers and can’t cater perfectly to everyone’s profile. I never like all of my items but that’s okay. People love getting makeup samples as gifts!

Anyway I received the primer, eye shadow stick in dark brown, eyebrow pencil, formula x polish, and cucumber face mask. I’m especially excited about the primer, mask, and polish. Peace and love to all. 🙂

Totally fooled by the cap on the crayon and sincerely disappointed that I did not get th too faced lipstick. 🙁 I would much rather get just make up in my boxes and I totally wish that was an option! I love the primer too but overall I wasn’t too excited about this month. Hopefully my boxycharm will lift my spirits!

I totally thought mine was missing the cap too. Lol

i got the dr. Brandt pores no more…smashbox photo finish….tresStique in gold i liked it, but it is light it says it’s buildable but it would take a lot…keratherapy..i like this too i really like the smell of it and it makes your hair really soft without being weighed down…and then there is the j cat i tried all sorts of ways to make this look good on me and it just isn’t happening it looks like a very bright orange on me that my face, mind, eyes, and husband doesn’t like lol

i did like the bag though … i thought it was simple but cute..

I received the Smashbox primer, cucumber mask, Formula X nail polish in Power Source which is described as a hot coral on Sephoras website, tre’Stique shadow crayon in Pink Pearl, and a purple eyelash curler.

I have the primer in full size, so I might give this to my daughter. The mask seems okay and I’ll use it. The nail polish isn’t a color I would ever use, its going to the womens shelter. The shadow crayon is so close to my skin tone that you can’t see it, I too thought the cap was missing. Ipsy gave us the faulty eyelash curler in February, I lost a few eyelashes with that, no plans to use this on my poor lashes.

Not really happy with this months bag.

I love my bag. I was about to cancel and then I got this. It’s all the same as liz’s but instead of her hair product, I got 3 bio republic face masks which I love! Plus the two full size items (lip crayon and eye shadow crayon), I’m super excited to try the dr. brandt pore mask, and the smashbox primer. The value was incredible and I love the bag, it’s a neat foam feeling squishy thing. Super bright orange makes it easy to find in my bag! Thanks ipsy!

I was a tad dissapointed with this months bag.the bag itself is cool.it feels like some kind of wetsuit material.i recieved the j.cat lip stain which is a no go for me so ill be gifting that one.the TreStique Eyeshadow Crayon, the keratherapy,dr brandt mask and the primer.I gave the hair smoother to my twin because i know i wont use it.she got the lavanilla body butter which she let me try and i absolutely loved it.i will be buying that for myself and my mom.i pretty much will only use the primer from this months bag.the rest i will give to friends who cant afford the splurge.

I really liked my bag this month, the value was like $70!!
I got $40 vitamin c serum,
Pink lip stain
Face primer
The same eyeshadow crayon but in pearl and something else. Was great!

Jenn

I really liked my bag! I like having a neutral plain bag for travel or my work tote full of all the crap I need each day to survive. 🙂
My products were okay, I got the Smashbox primer, which I am excited to use. J. Cat lip stain which is eh… not bad, not great, not really my color but I’m trying to be bolder. Keratherapy hair smoother which is amazing. Tre-stique mini shadow crayon in gold which looks great. And the Dr. Brant mask which didn’t seem to do much, but I like trying new masks.
Overall I would say this bag is okay. I feel like it is worth my $10, but def not my favorite. I do want to know what profiles people have to get all the makeup products!! But I like skincare as well and my birchbox is all skincare! I’m excited about July’s birchbox sample choice!!

I got the Too Faced Melted lipstick and
IT brow power pencil and brush in taupe (I have black/dark brown Asian hair color). I would love to trade for dry shampoo . If interested email me at [email protected]

I didn’t like this months ipsy at all. My ipsy profile stylist is Michelle. I don’t usually wear make up and I got mostly make up this month, how aggravating.
I received:
Too Faced Melted lipstick
IT brow power pencil and brush in taupe (I have black/dark brown Asian hair color)
Aurora BlackBerry eyeliner
Shadow crayon in gold
3 face masks from BioRepublic

If you would like to trade your Too Faced Melted lipstick, I’ve got multiple skin care products (not from this month, just multiple things ive collected throught subscriptions etc )I could trade for it. If interested email me at [email protected]

Adeline, I’d be happy to swap with you for the IT Cosmetics brow pencil or the Too Faced! It’s funny how different people’s tastes are. Your bag sounds fantastic to me!

I received the Kona Coffee eye pencil, Smashbox primer, Formula X polish (which has been swatched), OFRA Cosmetics turquoise eyeliner (also swatched), and the LaVanila lotion – it smells fantastic but was not very full to begin with. Email me at [email protected] if you are interested. 🙂

I also have very dark hair and eyebrows, and the IT pencil in taupe actually works amazingly well. I was hesitant to even try it, but it says it works for all hair colors – and it does!!! It looks darker when applied, I think it reflects the pigment, and looks more natural than any other pencil I have tried. I use it every day now just to even out a few spots, and even though I have naturally dark, thick brows I love it!!!

I was dying to try the Too Faced Melted….so of course I got the smash box primer. It is so teeny. Meh.

I got a J.Cat lip stain. I don’t like that brand, and have said so every time they send it to me. I tried the product just for the heck of it, and I don’t like it at all. It has a weird flowery scent, and has one of those “minty” feeling “burn” type feelings. It is going in the garbage.

I got the Dr Brandt pores no more, which is fine, but Ipsy has sent it to me before.

I got a hair product that I haven’t seen anyone mention yet. Keratherapy daily smoothing cream. I’m glad to have this to play with. It’s a blow dry treatment.

My last item is the treStique pencil thingie in “Venetian gold”. I like the formula a lot, but the color isn’t me.

Usually Ipsy nails me, but this month was a disappointment. I struck out with glossybox too, so I am 0 for 2 so far this month. Pleeeeease Birchbox, be a good one! 🙂

I was seriously wondering why my ipsy bags were not for me and then all of a sudden I got one great bag a couple months ago! April. Even the bag was so me. I stopped changing my profile after that and have had better (not perfect) bags since. Maybe it takes a while to start getting better-for-you bags. I still don’t love everything, but I’m enjoying trying them out. Keep reviewing everything and updating your profile until the bags start being more you. Hopefully that will help in time.

I got the same exact bag and cancelled my subscription. I am happy to have recieved the Karatherapy but won’t really use anything else. I have no idea how anyone can like the J. Cat lip products. I see so many rave reviews on youtube etc and don’t understand. That stuff stays completely slippery and wet and gets all over my teeth (never had this problem ever before), face etc. Sad clown. Literally.

I actually cancelled my ipsy subscription in a fit after seeing what was in it. I got the cucumber mask, the rose exfoliating gel, the j.cat lip stain, the smashbox primer, and the pink trestique. I’m overloaded with skin care items from birchbox, and I have the two subscriptions so I can get mostly makeup from ipsy, and everything else from birchbox.

– Smashbox is a great brand, but I don’t wear foundation, just a tinted moisturizer or BB cream occasionally – giveaway.
– The smell of the rose gel SMOTHERED me as soon as I opened the pink mailer, and immediately listed it for swapping.
– The cucumber face mask is boring but I will likely use it.

But that j.cat lip stain. Terrible. It definitely works, because it took me 5 minutes of scrubbing to get the SWATCH off! If the color had been anything but neon coral it might have been fine… I don’t want to look like a clownfish.

The only thing I’m liking is the trestique because I got the pink pearl color, which is wearable (but not super noticeable) – although a color dupe of about 6 other different things I have.

I do have to say that I did the exact same thing with the eyeshadow stick cap – I tried drawing everywhere on my arm with the lid, and got SUPER annoyed when I thought the only thing I was kind of liking was dried out! Then I felt silly when I realized what I did wrong, haha.

I was thrilled this month. A full sized lip stain in a gorgeous coral color, an eyeshadow mini crayon in brown (large enough to get several wears), sample of Smashbox primer, microdermabrasion cream, and something else that I can’t remember. Worth $10 to me!

I love your reviews as always.. I received a trio of masks; the smashbox primer; the same eye crayon; the Derme scrub; and the IT cosmetics eye brow pencil. I have received the primer from various subs and also own the travel size (larger version). I was most excited about the brow product and then probably the Derme since I own a few products and love the line.

I LOVED this months bag…i got a trio of face masks, the dr. brandt mask (i love masks, so getting 4 in one box was not a deterrent) , the smashbox (i have a million primers, but i’m a regifter of things i don’t use), the eye shadow in a nice nude golden shimmer, and the j. cat lip stain which i’m definitely giving away as it was not the right shade of pink for my brown skin. Regardless, that was 7 items in 1 bag!
