Fresh Fiction Book Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Book

Summer at the Shore by V.K. Sykes - Value $6

When I looked this one up on Amazon I was surprised to see it isn't even officially available for purchase until the 30th!

Here is the book description from Amazon:

Morgan Merrifield sacrificed her teaching career to try to save her family's bed-and-breakfast and care for her younger sister. She can't let herself get distracted by Ryan Butler. After all, the rugged ex-Special Forces soldier is only in Seashell Bay for the summer. But her longtime crush soon flares into real desire-and with one irresistible kiss, she's swept away.

Ryan values his freedom. As much as he wants Morgan, he's not ready to settle down with anyone, much less in sleepy Seashell Bay. But his code of honor doesn't allow him to leave a woman in distress-and she's in desperate need of help to fix the inn. It only takes one day working under the same roof and Ryan is already hoping for a lifetime of hot summer nights . . .

Fresh Fiction Book Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Ebooks

This box also included free e-books for:

Again, Alabama (Value $4.99)

Rescued by the Buccaneer (Value $.99)

I started typing in the title of this book on Amazon and was amused by how many similar titles there are:

Death by Scones (Value $4.99)

The Tartan MP3 Player (Value $2.99)

HEX Saxton Academy Series (Value $3.99)

The Taming of the Bachelor (Value $3.99)

Fresh Fiction Book Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Swag

This box also comes with some book swag each month - a can gripper pad (I'm sure there's a real term for the rubber heart thing, a bottle opener, a luggage tag, a lollipop, and a makeup bag.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $28, not counting the swag items. If you're into romance novels and like getting a mix of paperbacks and ebooks, I think this box is worth the cost - and almost all of the books get great reviews on Amazon too.

I'm not sure if this is the right box for me and my reading preferences, but I do think the value is there. What do you think of Fresh Fiction?

I got Montana Cherries which actually doesn’t come out until the end of July so was happy about that, and I got an extra ebook card. I just don’t think I can continue with this sub, I like romance books but not typically the harlequin types.

Are the physical books always going to be harlequin like?
That’s a real turnoff for me

I’m wondering the same thing. Since the name is “Fresh Fiction” I keep expecting a different genre or something to pop up, but it seems firmly rooted in grocery-store-type-romances. Which I’m not judging! But maybe they should consider renaming their box, or mixing up the offerings.

I totally agree. I’ve gotten the first two months but I’m thinking I will cancel. I read some romance but I like to read other things to. I love the ebook/real book combination I just need more genre variety.

I received my box on Friday (sadly, I was away for the weekend) so I just opened it today. The bag I received was red (so I love that it matches the tote from last month). I also received a heart shaped bottle opener/keychain instead of the black card one that I’ve been seeing around. My luggage tag was also of a felt material in blue. I like the quote on it. (Not sure how to send photos on here or I would). I also received a 7th e-book, titled ‘These Boots Are Made for Butt-Kickin'” by Kalan Chapman Lloyd. Review will be up soon (on my new review blog 🙂 )
