I’m still subscribed for this one and looking forward to its arrival, but I can’t help but feel due to the unique, artisanal nature of the box that it might work more nicely as a special edition box (like Liz has done with MSA) and not on a quarterly schedule.

There is something about handmade ceramics that is really special – seeing this hand thrown mug really made me glad I signed up for the box – and I understand that working with artists with items that aren’t mass produced may set timelines back but I know it’ll be worth the wait. I’m also loving fluorescents lately and I’m very much looking forward to the heart print.
This is from the Design Sponge site (http://www.designsponge.com/2015/05/ds-quarterly-box-2-color-2.html) and I fully support her curation: “These small-scale and mostly handmade goods we focus on are produced by people paid a fair wage in an ethical work environment, so they tend to come with higher price points and don’t work in a bite-sized, low-cost format.”
Even it if takes another month to get to me, I’d take that over a bunch of low quality items any day.

I understand that including handmade items may have caused a delay in shipment, but quarterly also delayed shipment of the MSA box at Christmas, both Kevin Rose boxes, both Rosario Dawson boxes, etc. It is every box, not just the ones with hand made items. The first Design Sponge came in December. Quarterly means 4 per year. The second Design Sponge was scheduled for March. Then May. Now June.
Quarterly should change its name to Bi-annually. Would be more accurate.

Also, this was slated for March delivery. Then May. Now they say it will ship mid June. I’ll get it about July, I assume.
Every quarterly sub ships at least 4 weeks late and I’m frustrated enough to make this my last quarterly box.

I really wanted to like this box. I missed the first one and loved the candles and cutting board. However, after seeing the mug, color wheel, heart print and wrapping cloth I am very glad I cancelled. I also can’t get over that it was delayed from March to June over that mug.

Same here…the spoilers made me want to cancel, and the delay made me actually do it. I’ll never subscribe again. loved the first box, though.

Huh. … I really want to like this box, but they just won’t let me. Arg.

Wasn’t there also a spoiler for a heart print? Maybe I am confusing it with something else.

Yes, there was also a spoiler about a bright pink heart print.
