Birchbox Man Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Kit

This kit has everything you need to make an Old Fashioned cocktail - and it is TSA approved. Here is the kit open:

I love the design of this kit - my only problem with it is that it isn't the sample choice I picked for June! I was about to email Birchbox about it when I saw this email in my inbox:

Birchbox Man Email

So, I can't complain about that! (We picked the two pair of Happy Socks for our selection this month).

Birchbox Man Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Lotion

Baxter of California Grooming Lotion - .8 oz Value $4.70

This grooming lotion is part styler, part leave-in conditioner. I tried it out and I like that the scent is subtle, and it gives a little hold.

davines SU Hair & Body Wash - 2.5 oz Value $6.75

Davines always seems to send good sized samples, and I like the scent of this shampoo/body wash - it's light and fresh.

Birchbox Man Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Cologne

English Laundry Signature Cologne - Sample Value $2

I'm never a fan of getting cologne/perfume samples in subscription boxes, and I don't love this scent either.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $37.45. (If you count the socks that are being sent to us because of Birchbox's mistake, the total value is $61.45). This is a somewhat lackluster box to me, so I'm glad we'll end up getting two lifestyle items this month.

What do you think of Birchbox Man this month? Did you get the correct sample selection item?

We picked the socks and got the socks. We also got Momo shampoo (good-sized sample), and a conditioner sample (foil packet). All of these things were great. We also got Claymation (it’s like hair sculpting wax) which was okay. Disappointingly, we got the world’s smallest sample of SPF Supergoop – the product smells very sunblocky (chemically speaking) and the tube is so very tiny.

I LOVED the box this month! SO did the Mister! The Davies smells great, I usually don’t like cologne but this one kind of blows my skirt up, we got the bottle hook and he LOVES IT (Using as a key chain), got a man exfoliate that he was all dreamy about and petting his face last night, and some supergoop! which is always a good thing to have on hand. I was super happy with this box. I’ve got pictures on my site if your’re interested, but that is by no means a plug to go there 🙂 Liz is always on point, and HUGE THANKS for the notification about the $10 off coupon for this. THRILLED.

I agree with it being a very lackluster month. I wasn’t super enthused about any of the lifestyle choices this month. I ended up choosing the Nautical-themed curated box this month as a result and because I thought the theme was cool.

I’m never a fan of the cologne samples either. I even called and ask if they could not include them in the box, even if it meant being one item short each month. I was told no, BB couldn’t do that, which was disappointing.

We choose the Happy Socks too this month, my husband won’t wear them because he said they look to much like women’s. I tried my best to get him to wear them but he just won’t! Lol, So I got them, I love their socks so I’m happy to have them! One pair are polka dots and the other is multi colored stripes. Their customer service is always amazing to me, that’s one of the many reasons I love Birchbox!

That kit looks really cool! I was torn between the bottle opener (which I picked) and the drink kit, but I decided to be selfish and get the opener, which I am using as a key chain.

I’ve actually had quite a few issues when I order directly from the Birchbox shop (only one or two hiccups with my actual boxes), which is surprising to me considering how efficient Birchbox seems to be, but their customer service was always prompt and practically bent over backwards to fix it for me. I’m glad they notified you about the mix-up in your sample choice so quickly, too!

They do impress me with the customer service MOST of the time. They have messed up on the selected item and either sent me the right item or gave me 100 points (for the womens’ box). Though I will say I was irritated with the one CS rep who told me I selected item B (she was wrong) even though I told her I had confirmation email of item A. I’d say she learned a bit that day after I sent in my confirmation email and another rep had to help me.

i love how they went out of their way and sent you something free, when i ordered something of their site and they just didn’t send it and said oh sorry we are out of stock ..

my past experience was great: my preview page showed some items, and my actual box came with other items. still 5 items, but i sent an email saying heeey i kinda really wanted those! SO! they just sent me an entire second box! they really didn’t have to do that, they were just so good about making sure my excitement wasn’t dampened!
