Keep in Touch is a new subscription service that sends a monthly postcard that you can play on your turntable! How unique! I was completely intrigued when I heard about this subscription, and rushed out to get a subscription for myself and my best friend.
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
The Subscription: Keep in Touch
The Cost: $65 per year (at this time, they appear to only do annual subscriptions)
The Products: One postcard per month featuring original artwork and a song that can be played on your turntable, plus an mp3 download code for the song.
Ships to: US
This was the fifth mailing from Keep In Touch. After February's mailing, I decided to stop trying to play these on my record player. They play really, really poorly, and I'm afraid they will damage my system somehow.
What I LOVE about this subscription, aside from the concept, is the artwork! This is the first time it's had a photography component, and I think it might be my favorite artwork yet! The artist is not listed, though! They started listing the artist on the reverse in March, and I assumed they would continue doing that. I will email KIT to see if I can find out who it is.
This month's song is "two beautiful ways of moving your hands (excerpt)" by Ricky Eat Acid. I am not a fan of the band / artist name, but this song is absolutely GORGEOUS! I love it! It's an experimental electronic piece that sounds as if it's sampled some string arrangements and then rearranged them all electronically, with some other sounds layered in.
The Verdict: This is my favorite month of KIT so far! I love it!
