Birchbox and Ipsy May Reveals are Up!

Can anyone tell me if Ipsy ships UPS? I still haven’t gotten a tracking noticed, but did get an odd tracking from UPS stating the JHL company was sending me a package?? I’m “missing” 2 that have already shipped, but the weight on this one says 3ozs, so I’m guessing it isn’t my Lilee box.

Does anyone else think its more fun to be surprised since you can’t choose anyway? I’m not doing spoilers or tracking my boxes this month. I’ll be excited to come home to the surprise. 🙂

* big sigh So disappointed in my ipsy this month, I received the urban decay lip pencil, Bella Pierre eye liner, not yr mothers hair extender, pixi bronzer and organic pharmacy face mosturizer. I am trading everything except for the last one. I am looking for the it concealer and glamglow or toner. Let me know if interested !

For the first time, I’m thrilled with every single item in my Birchbox. This month my hair item is amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo, which I can actually use! Then I’m getting Cynthia Rowley Beauty Creamy Lip Stain, which will probably go to my 10 yo and WEI Multi Mask Multi Task, CoTZ Flawless Complexion SPF 50 and Aruba Aloe Luxe Foot Creme. Those are all products I use!

I got ipsy for my daughter because she wanted a makeup subscription but it didn’t turn out so well. The only makeup she got is a the Balm Cosmetics NUDE Dude Eyeshadow Single. At least it’s something that she can use if she’s not too embarrassed by the packaging.

She is also getting Dermatologica breakout cleaning toner (which may not be makeup, but it’ll be good for her to have), an IT cosmetics CC cream that she’ll only use if it’s the right color, a hair oil and a generic face cleanser. We’ll probably put those up to swap – maybe for some makeup 🙂

FYI for everyone and Liz – You can get 10 extra BB points each month by sharing your box on social media during that month. It should show the option to share on Twitter or Facebook. If you share on both, you only get 10 points. That said, you can now get 60 points each month until BB decides to stop that promotion. ^^

When sharing this stuff on Facebook, I always make sure I click “Only Me” since the share button allows you to choose who sees your post. I don’t have Ipsy, but this does work for Birchbox and I get the extra 10 points for sharing my reveal page without spamming my friends! Maybe this will also work for Ipsy?

I don’t think that I got anything in my box that anyone’s mentioned already. Except for the coastal scents palette which, I am sure I am probably not getting the whole pallet just a few eyeshadows. It kills me though when I hear people complain constantly about what they didn’t get it and whether not getting or they didn’t get this right. I think everyone needs to remember that this box cost $20 a month. We can all go into any big box store and blow that in five mins. I know some months I can do better than others but, I just have to go back to the initial cost of the box and the experience that I’m getting from trying out all of these new products! If something doesn’t work for me I give it to someone else that it can and it makes their day!

I’ve been getting Ipsy for about 6 months now and I finally broke down and signed up for Birchbox. I was given the option to upgrade to the Beta version, so I went ahead and added the 2 extra full size items. I think this will end up being a sub box that I really enjoy.

But is it the WHOLE PALETTE (wishful thinking) or just one or a quad.

I hate that ipsy makes you post it to Facebook as well, but at least it motivates me to keep it surprise!

I have a separate fb page just for all my beauty-related stuff. That way I can share without clogging up the newsfeed and make posts to subscription box pages without my friends seeing what I’m writing them. lol.

I always get nervous the closer it is to summer (that I will get bombarded with sunscreens, bronzer, tanning products, etc) but I really love my Birchbox and Ipsy this month!

I didn’t pick a sample for my birchbox and I’m really happy with the samples I’m getting: Marcelle Clay Mask, Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water, Harvey Prince Sea Salt Spray(only thing I don’t like since I can’t use it for my hair), Peripera Peri’s Tint Water, and Aruba Aloe Luxe Foot Cream. I can’t wait to try everything, even the foot cream, cuz I need some! My Ipsy bag on the other hand is super disappointing as normal. I’m starting to get mad about it, it’s like they deliberately pick things I hate to send to me. I’ve re-done the quiz 3 times and it doesn’t help. I am getting the Urban Decay lip pencil, which may be ok. But I’m getting another black eyeliner and bronzer, which I don’t use at all, and sunscreen lotion. And Klorane soothing patches. Very disappointed in Ipsy, I always think about canceling it, they never send anything I love and like I said it seems they pick everything I don’t like. I don’t use eyeliner pencils or bronzers at all Ipsy!!

I never look at my box before it comes but the suspense is killing me!

With the Ipsy FB shares, I have them ALL set to “only me” so that I still get the credit via the share and in turn get my access/review points. It works well for me, only I see a very ipsy-filled profile.

This month is so weird for me, because it’s my last (I have to cancel because we don’t have the $$ to keep going with the boxes, sadly).. and my Ipsy bag is the best I’ve ever gotten (I’ve been sorely disappointed by them every other time), and Birchbox — which was my favorite — is the worst I’ve ever gotten from them with nothing to be excited for. WTF lol. Oh well.

I swear if I get one more sample of Porefessional in any of my subscription boxes I’m going to run down the street screaming! I must have a minimum of 15 samples of that stuff. And I don’t even use it. I can’t give it away cuz nobody I know uses it either. They are seriously over-marketing that stuff. Really turns me off to Benefit in general. Grrr…

I think Im receiving the Revealed 3 eyeshadow palette in Birchbox. Is anyone else receiving it ? Not sure if it’s going to be the full palette or just a few samples.

If you don’t want to share your ipsy bag on Facebook all you have to do is click the share button, and when the Facebook box pops up click settings and set it as “Only Me.” That way nobody but you can see the post on your Facebook page. It’s what I do.

I just checked and I’m getting a tinted Dr. Jart thing for dry skin. Epic WTF as my profile is like “extra oily, acne” all over it.

This is the 2nd month I’ll just put the whole box on the trade group. 🙁

I can’t figure out how to do the ipsy early access. It shows a text box and says “step 1, share on facebook” There is no link to do anything. Typing in the box has no affect. What is this??

If you want to peek at Ipsy, but not share it on facebook, click the link to share… that pulls up the pop up box that shows everything in the box, then just cancel the post instead of sharing it.

I didn’t choose a sample for birchbox and im getting a juara body cream, benefit lollibalm!!!!, parlour sea salt spray, harvy prince parfume and a Dr Jart day tint 🙂 the lollibalm is paraben free so I can use it and that right there makes the whole box worth it! Woo!

I jsut checked my samples and I am getting the smashbox photofinish primer water I am so excited about that! I don’t even remember any of the other samples!!!

I saw my choices yesterday for Birchbox. They didn’t send me the sample choice I chose, but I guess that’s kind of common for them?

Liz, what about your upgraded box? I signed up for the upgraded box with 2 full size items. I looked at my reveal page this morning but I don’t know which two items are the full size and which are sampled. But the products are pretty exciting.
