Bespoke Post Review & Coupon – May 2015 “Shine” Box

Bespoke Post is a monthly men’s subscription box. It’s a very high-quality box, and most of their selections are gender-neutral so I’d say my husband and I love this box equally!

Unlike most subscription boxes, you get to preview the new Bespoke Post box offerings on the first of each month, and you can easily skip any month you aren’t interested in your account section.

This month we picked the Shine box.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Bespoke Post Review & Coupon – May 2015 “Shine” Info

Each box comes with a fold out sheet detailing the items included and it usually has tips on how to one or more of the items.

Bespoke Post Review & Coupon – May 2015 “Shine” Glasses

Dharma Sunglasses - Value $99

These lenses are shatterproof, anti-scratch, UV resistant, and polarized - plus I just love the look of aviators. (Subscribers could pick between one of three sunglass frame styles).

Bespoke Post Review & Coupon – May 2015 “Shine” Case

Line of Trade Leather Case - Value $30?

This case was made exclusively for the box, so I'm estimating on value. Here is the inside:

Bespoke Post Review & Coupon – May 2015 “Shine” Cloth

Declan Microfiber Cloth - Value $12

A $100 pair of sunglasses with a leather case would have been enough for me to pick this box, but I like that they added in this cleaning cloth too!

Verdict: As always, I'm so impressed with the value and quality of this subscription. It's such a good deal for $45! My husband wears prescription glasses, so I bought this box for me, and now I'm thinking of grabbing an extra one for my brother's birthday gift I like the box so much.

What did you pick from Bespoke Post this month?

This was my first box from Bespoke Post, and I am hooked. I’ve been searching for months the right tortoise shell sunglasses, and boom! I got the Cash frames. They are perfect and a great deal.

I’ve been following the ouiplease box drama, and I think bespoke is the perfect contrast to bring to the (prolific) discussion. To me, they have amazing boxes that people want to keep. You hardly see anything on the swap site (though that could be because fewer swappers subscribe to bespoke). At times they have considerable variance between their boxes, but you can pick what you want, or skip, and their products are high quality, made in America. A lot of their items are specially made for them, so you’re getting the curator’s quality control as well. Because you are picking you don’t get the surprise, but if you want surprise you can just ignore their emails. Their boxes arrive on time, and I’ve never heard customer service complaints. Ever. There is also the possibility (I didn’t check) of there being a phone number, and I really don’t like ouiplease not having a phone number. And finally, they cost less. Where they fall behind ouiplease is in the product curation just not being the same thing, and the box retail value. So if what you want is what ouiplease sells, you’re stuck with ouiplease or buying direct from companies. There just aren’t other French import subs like them- which is why we all moaned and groaned over the month delay and countless lies, but many were still happy with their boxes. We want what they sell (or at least what they say they sell, they kind of hiccuped on that this month). As for the box value, unless the retail value versus wholesale is so significant to accommodate a 4x sale price box value and still include profit, that model is not sustainable. And really, part of what is good about sub boxes is discovering new things I’ll get again. If they are so outrageously expensive I can only afford them in a sub box, I miss out on that. I’m locked into ouiplease right now (I bought a year sub) and don’t have room in my budget right now for another box, but when I do I’m going to take a serious look at bespoke. I’d love to swap for almost everything they include!

Liz, how do the glasses fit? Are they a little big or do they fit well? I’m thinking about getting one as well, just curious if the glasses will fit most ladies too.

They fit me perfectly. (Maybe I have a big head/face though!) 🙂 Here are the measurements from Bespoke Post: 58mm ‘lens cutout’ width, 14mm bridge width, 135mm temple (arm) width.

Hope that helps!

It does! Thank you! I think those measurements match my current sunglasses; so I’m going to go for it.
