BarkBox Subscription Box Review & Coupon – May 2015

I receive the large heavy chewer box and the medium. Last month both boxes were exactly the same and each had a plush toy. This month the boxes were not the same but both still had plush toys. We recieved the butterfly In one of the boxes. I’m not sure which one. They are not labeled so I always have to guess which is large/medium. My Frenchie had something black sticking out of the corner of her mouth. I discovered it was the butterfly. The whole thing nearly fit in her mouth! I threw it out. I also am annoyed they are sending plush toys in a heavy chewer box. I’ve complained before and don’t want to again. I really hope they get better. We’ve subscribed for over a year and I hope we can continue

I have yet again received the box that a majority of subscribers got the month before. I seem to be a month behind even though I have subscribed for about eight months or so and this really stared a month before my renew a few months ago. I have sent email and they tell just tell me that there are variations to the boxes. I guess mine is called the leftover variation. I also got the tuff guy mat, which is for large dogs according to the BarkShop (I subscribe to the small dog box) when I emailed them, they told me to get the extra small box. I am not sure how that would fix me from getting a large dog toy. I haven’t been very happy with this box lately.

I get the large box version for my 70 pound Lab, but he is not a chewer at all, and overall this box has been Ok for him. The toys so far have ALWAYS been plush and would NOT work for a large dog that is a chewer in my opinion. So far the treats have worked, for instance this month he also got a Butchers block bone and it was around 12 inches. The toys were different than the small dog box, but again both plush and he got the same bag of Plato treats. There are a number of YouTube video’s I’ve seen this month that review the large box, but keep in mind there are different themes that go out…so you will see different variations. The Pooch Party pack definitely looks like a better box for dogs that are chewers, I used to have a Rottweiler and Barkbox would not have been suitable for him.

We’ve loved BarkBox . . , until the past 2 months. We have an 18 lb dog and have the “small dog” box (same as Liz – we’re box twins this month). But in the past 2 boxes we’ve gotten toys that our little guy can’t even fit his mouth around! The FETCH bone is so big, Liz, I don’t know how your dog can play with it 🙁

But b4 these past 2 boxes, BB was totally hitting it out of the park for us.

We get the medium box, and neither Oberon or I was impressed this month. We got stuffed boxing gloves, a fuzzy wrestling man, the Farmer’s Market Treats (which he likes okay, but isn’t crazy about) and two roasted beef tails. The beef tails were a big hit, the rest of it was kind of eh.

I really wish there was a review for the large dog box. I’m interested in this sub and have two very big dogs and one of them is a chewer…but without seeing one, I can’t make the leap. Every review I see are of the small dog boxes here and on other sites 🙁
