1Up Box is a newer geek/gamer subscription box. My husband is pretty obsessed with these boxes, so as soon as a few readers recommended this one we signed up!

1UP Box Subscription Box Review – May 2015 Tee

Fist Bump T-Shirt - Value $12?

This is an exclusive design for subscribers. The fabric is super soft and lightweight - I'm a little jealous of this one!

1UP Box Subscription Box Review – May 2015 BMO

Adventure BMO Plush - Value $11

This is the cutest little plush! My husband loves Adventure Time too, so this box has been a win so far!

1UP Box Subscription Box Review – May 2015 Beep Boop

Beep Boop Drawstring Bag - Value $4?

The fabric of this bag isn't the best (it seems like this type disposable fabric), but we don't usually end up using drawstring bags from geek boxes anyway.

1UP Box Subscription Box Review – May 2015 Card

Sidekick Dog Tag Necklace - Value $3?

Love My Sidekick Wristband - Value $1?

Jack of Hearts Decal - Value $1?

From what I can tell these are all exclusive items for the box. Sometimes these items can feel a little like "filler" items to me, but I'm sure some subscribers will enjoy them.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $32. That's mostly based on my estimates on retail values, so it could be a little off.  The shirt and BMO make this box worth it for us this month. What do you think of the May 1UP Box?

This was my first box. I am glad I got the first month at a discount because I was a little disappointed in the box mainly because of the over usage of Adventure Time. I’m not a fan and neither is my son who gets to pick through the box after I take the shirt. I like 1Up because they always have a shirt but the others felt like fillers to me. I will give them a couple more months and see how they do.

I was a bit disappointed in how heavy the Adventure Time license was used, but the t-shirt is one of my favorites I’ve received in a subscription box, and the plush is pretty cool. The two strongest items being the two biggest makes up for the lack of substance with the filler. Had they ran with the “Sidekick” theme a bit more by incorporating more from the comic world, it would’ve been a home run.

I loved this box. Yoshi is my favorite. ( i even have a yoshi tattoo) And my boyfriend loves adventure time. But i can see how it could be a miss for some people. I still have the introductory pricing, so for less than $15 this is usually a win.

I was a tad bit let down by this box this month. It’s a small box and 3 of the items were related to Adventure Time, which I know nothing about. About every box I get has an item that I am a stranger to, but this month’s 1up leans too heavily on one property for my taste.
