What do you think of the samples this month? I'm happy to see there are 6 items - I promise I won't complain about the perfume since I just consider it an extra now!

Very disappointed with this month’s box. Like everyone said, the sizes are very small. The perfume sample is a typical freebie you can get at many stores. They need to step up their game! Not cancelling, will give them another try, since other months have been a lot better.

This was my first month with Sample Society and when I opened the box, I actually laughed. I thought maybe I should put the contents in the bathroom of a dollhouse. Despite the tiny size (in all fairness, the word “sample” is there in the name), I really like most of what was included. The POREfessional primer in particular is incredible and I’m a sucker for candles. Seeing past boxes, I’ll give Allure the benefit of the doubt and stick with it a few more months. At any rate, at this stage in my life, a good chuckle is of far more value than another dry shampoo or shimmery eyeliner anyway.

This was my first and last box. Not impressed at all. I felt like four of the products were samples you could get at any sephora or ulta. The lotion was so overpowering, that I could not even try it. I did like the candle, it had a very nice scent.

Wow. This was my first and last box. Even Ipsy and Birchbox are so much better than this box and Allure is 50% more! And the $10 off $50 is not an incentive. I cannot believe how tiny these samples are. I’ve never seen such a tiny hair oil sample in my life. Both that and the perfume are clearly free samples. I got my Beauty Fix Box today too. Its $10 more and the value is 25x better. This made me cancelling Allure an easy decision!!!

What’s totally disappointing about this box it the size of the items. I just don’t think anything in this box is worth the price of the box.
The only product I like is the candle and I like the lipstick mini. I felt like the other things should have been deluxe size or full size o make this box worth it. The lotion although nice, is WAY too friggin small! So is the hair oil and the pore perfection. The perfume mini should also be deluxe size or shouldn’t even be added to the box. Overall booooo!

I disagree with every single person that is happy with this box. 6 tiny samples in no way makes up for the “5 deluxe samples” that Sample Society itself advertises you will receive. Every single item outside of the candle tin is available for free from Sephora and similar vendors upon request. There is nothing to justify the price tag of this box. If we paid $5, maybe. Frankly, as someone who subscribes to several box services, I don’t see how they will last. The far better option for people who want the most from
their money is Birchbox. You may get tiny samples from time to time, but you can also earn redeemable points toward anything on the site (as a bonus, they have excellent customer service, another are SS lacks in). Conversely, you can pay ~$6-$10 more and receive either Glossybox or Boxycharm-both subscriptions offer deluxe and full sized samples and actually deliver on their promise. For anyone to act as though this month’s box is acceptable according to Sample Society’s own advertisements is laughable.

This was one of the worst boxes I’ve received from Sample Society. All the samples are tiny, the lotion is overpowering (even though I like both chamomile and lavender), though the candle is alright. I’m going to cancel.
The coupon code you gave isn’t working. Is it expired?

Just canceled too!! Didn’t care much for my first box, which was March, and this one is just plain awful!! Everything is small sample ( perfume and hair oil), and the Jane iredale lippy is .. Brown!!! Candle is cute and all, but the body lotion is in such a small jar, I think I would have enough to cover one arm with it.. Ridiculous

Grrr! I cancelled my sub after several blah months and discovering so many better boxes (Glossybox, Boxycharm, Birchbox, Ipsy). But then the past few months they became much better. So I ordered in March after seeing the review and found out after I’d paid I would get April. I was sad but hopeful until I saw this post. Not one item interests me. So bummed. Going to go ahead and recancel this box. It’s just way too hit or miss for me.

Okay so they didn’t use my code for 5 off my first box, and I’m so allergic to lavender I’ll have to give the whole box away to a friend without opening it.

My first impression is thumbs down; this one seems weaker by far than March, February, January, and December, and maybe on par with some of the weak ones that came out right before those. The Hairdresser’s Oil is cool but I was hoping for a larger quantity. I am looking forward to trying the Jane Iredale and the color Rio (which I am also getting) is their darkest color; looks like maybe a dark raisin, and while that’s not exactly my color, I’m pleased that they didn’t go for the most run-of-the-mill color. The lotion is somewhat unexciting because it’s hard to get excited about lotion (my body skin’s not dry), but I do like lavender and chamomile, and company sounds cool, and there’s turmeric in it. I’ll probably use it as hand lotion. I don’t really need or want a candle. That said, tonka has good associations for me scent-wise but noir has bad, so we’ll see. Speaking of scents, perfume samples are lost on me because perfume gives me migraines, and even if it didn’t, I’ve never met a Marc Jacobs scent I liked. While I like Benefit, I don’t use primers, do not have large pores and while I must have some fine lines, I am not bothered by them. I will be swapping this. Overall, not much I need, and no full size items.

Surprisingly happy about the perfume sample because I was thinking about purchasing the full size and this will help me decide. Also I like all the lip products that SS has sent in the past so hopefully I like the color I receive.

I love this box. I really like Porefessional and Bumble and Bumble. I’m glad I resubscribed this month!

This is one of the boxes I looked at in the beginning of the year, and I’m glad I went with boxycharm. it’s a nice box, but I prefer makeup heavy boxes to self care type boxes. I have so much lotion and so many candles, it’s crazy. And perfume all smells the same to me, so I stick with body sprays. I do love the benefit porefection though.

I love Allure Sample Society but this box doesn’t do much for me. Maybe I’ll feel differently once I see it in person!

You will only be ticked when you get the box. The spoilers were pretty good, but then I saw the size of the samples, and it is so very disappointing. The only bright side is the candle actually smells good.

I’m getting my box today, it’s nice but I think it’s very “sample” this month.

After a year of subscribing, I decided to cancel my subscription this month. I felt like I was spending too much money for a product that was consistently slightly disappointing. I’m not sure whether it’s because I finally pulled the plug, or FOMO, but I’m really jealous of this box! It doesn’t seem like other people are super excited about it…must be the FOMO!!

Hahahahaha! I know exactly how you feel! I was over sample society so I had canceled before last months box and then regretted it terribly since it was such a good box! Had to re-sub! FOMO is a real problem!!

I’m pretty excited to try the POREfessional sample. This box is a win for me.

I just remembered to cancel on Saturday, and it actually looks like that was early enough! My account shows I’ll be getting a refund. But if it hadn’t panned out, I think I would have been happy enough with this box.

This is my first month back after a long absence. I am actually happy with the box. I have tried the Jane Iredale product in another color and liked it. I love Illume candles. I am not upset about the small hair oil sample because hair oil is one of those things it’s actually hard to finish up since you use so little at a time (and this is considering I have thick, waist-length hair). I will certainly give everything a try.

I’m not sure why everyone has such an issue with this box- it’s only $5 more than Birchbox and there are 6 decent-sized samples in here: The popular Porefessional, a candle, perfume sample, lotion, lippie, and hair product…it seems like a perfectly well-rounded sample box for the price, in my opinion!

its my first with them: I am disappoint to see the bumble and bumble is so stingy, but i think dat lotion and candle look delightful and I was covetously rationing a previous foil sample of porefessional: for a modest month, it’s still quite nice.

i cancelled today. With all the nice subs out they can do better than this and they have. I hope to see them go back but if not it saves me some cash!

It is $15, while birchbox is technically only $5 (as $5 from the reviews goes to saving). I usually gets my glossybox with this price (glossybox 20% off codes or ruelala codes) and that is way more better than sample society. Just my humble opinion.
