Little Lace Box Subscription Review + Coupon – April 2015 Letter

Each box comes with a letter detailing the theme of the month and hints at the next month’s box. This month’s theme is “Nonna's Kitchen" - inspired by the foods, smells and little things the sisters behind Little Lace Box remember most about childhood.

Also - they revealed the theme for the June box. (Little Lace Box now ships every other month). The theme for the June box is "Classy and Fabulous" based on the Coco Chanel quote, "A girl should be two things, classy and fabulous." The box will focus on fashion accessories "to help you make the transition to summer and maximize your wardrobe for both day and night."

Little Lace Box Subscription Review + Coupon – April 2015 Tray

This item was included since the sisters remembered their grandmother prepping for making meals and taking off her jewelry to keep in a trinket dish before she got to work. I've just been putting my rings on the window sill, so this will be an improvement!

Little Lace Box Subscription Review + Coupon – April 2015 Order

Verdict: I think this is a fabulous and unique box, and it reminds me of the most popular Little Lace boxes from the past year - full of goodies with a very clear and thoughtful theme! The value is about $104, and I think that's a good value for this box, and even more importantly this box just feels like unwrapping a very thoughtful gift!

What do you think of the April Little Lace Box?

I was subscribed to this box for a short time when it was $39.99 per month. The boxed was curated much better as it includes household items and personal care items. Currently, the box is 59.99, and includes items that I can get in HomeGoods for approximately $30. I really think that they need to get back to their old ways of curating great boxes. In my opinion, $59.99 is steep price for a subscription box, especially when it includes things that I can get elsewhere for a fraction of the price. I was really looking forward to subscribing to this box once again, but I will wait to see what they offer in the future months before I subscribe.

I am in shock by how awful the contents of this box were. I received a pashmina that is $5 on the street. I purchased this same exact pashmina from street vendors multiple times in different colors. 3 of the products I received were from the same company and the other 2 are from a separate company. That is just LAZY. The reason I subscribed is to get a variety of products from different companies. I am extremely disappointed at this expensive service and would never order anything again from them.

Hi Liz,

Why have you not reviewed the June box? I’d love to read your thoughts on this one

Reply ButtonReply

Kristin

She’s not reviewing LLB anymore. There was some controversy a little while back where someone from LLB tracked down an MSA poster and cancelled her account over criticism she posted here. I do enjoy their boxes but what they did was very unprofessional and I completley understand why Liz would cut ties. I think you can find the whole story in the comments of another post but I can’t remember which one.

Thanks for the response! Had no idea

If anyone is interested, I am selling my complete June box for the price I paid $39 shipped. It includes the watercolor silk scarf, nailpolish in Premier, ring in tourquoise, hat in brown tweed and scrub in Lollapoluzza (or something like that!). Great curation, but unfortunately, not quite my taste and the ring is too big on me (I have freakishly small 4.5 size fingers)
Email me at [email protected] if interested.

Wendy

Thank you Ashley. It really is omg. Wonder how long it is going to take for them to work the kinks out. I personally miss the month to month.

Wendy

I got mine when I got home. The wine is not free. It is $38 for 2 bottles plus $1 to ship. It retails for $38 per bottle. Still a nice surprise!

Amy BB

I can’t wait! Any clues? Is it bigger than a bread box? 🙂

Emily

Amy BB, please share..:D Mine won’t arrive until the end of the week and I have no interest in waiting that long!

Nancy M.

For those who were wondering about the “May Surprise” it was asked on their FB and they replied that it would be shipped the last week of May, and will be “shipped in coordination with a surprise announcement”

Amy

Thank you

Has anyone received LLB’s May “Really Nice Surprise” for current subscribers? Or shipping info? I can’t wait!

Little Lace Box has posted a spoiler on their website. I sincerely hope they will be able to deal with their customer service issues. They have a lot of potential. Here’s the “Sneak Peek” from LLB:

“A girl should be two things, classy and fabulous” ~ Coco Chanel

We make it to the summer season, look at our wardrobes and wonder, how do we make the transition from the gloves, wool socks, heavy coats and winter hats? Well LLB will curate a box of fashion accessories to help you make the transition to summer and maximize your wardrobe for both day and night. On trend colors, patterns, textures and accessories that will make you feel classy and look fabulous.

Inspired by our favorite designers, our June box will shower you with inspiration and accessories to glam up your summer style and take you from day to dinner. We’re very excited, because our June LLB brings us back to what we enjoy most about curating—fashion and style. Every summer has a soundtrack, so get ready, because in June, we’re coming in hot! (But don’t worry, no temporary tattoos, I promise).

Shipping on June 20 TO 23, 2015.”

I really can’t wait….even with all the drama I enjoy their boxes tremendously, especially locked in at the lower price point. There has been almost nothing I have received that I did not like.

Amy

Me too! I can’t wait for the next box too.

If anyone wants to buy my box for what I paid + shipping please email me at mskimmers(@)yahoo.com

I know there have been a lot of comments about the pattern on the dish……….this may sound strange but mine doesn’t seem to be anything to keep rings on while you do the dishes…..as they just roll off. I suppose when I think of something to keep rings/watch in I’m thinking of something with a bit of a lip??? (and my pattern is on the top)

I have been meaning to go on and post about my Little Lace Box Experience. I received my anxiously awaited for box (and appreciated their text message = awesome!) and to my dismay, everything was covered in oil/vinegar. The small bottles shattered and everything (literally everything) saturated with this mix. I was so unhappy. I took pictures and emailed LLB right away. Here is what they did and they didn’t have to do so… They responded immediately. It was Saturday the 25th when I received the box. I emailed them, their company was closed. I knew this. But I was emotional and wanted to email. It didn’t matter that it was the weekend -as they still responded and corresponded with me throughout the weekend. On Monday the 27th, they emailed me again AND had already had packaged the replacements for ruined items and shipped out to me. WOW. Here is a huge difference in this LLB subscription to others I sub to. LLB is a smaller sub box company that appears to be very personal and a dream of these sisters. I feel that pride, time and love in selection of items -in their boxes. I am a business owner and pride my company on responding fast and what we offer. It is also important to how we respond. Here is an example that I experienced in March through April with another company (Not LLB): My box to a $100 sub company was never sent to me. They said it was delivered. When I tracked it, it said that the label was printed. That’s it. I proved that with the tracking to this other company (as I called the shipping company). It took over 10 emails and a month, a solid month!! before they ever shipped out another box as they wanted to do internal due diligence (I respect due diligence except for the fact that it was at my expense, I should not have to wait a total of 40 days to receive my “replacement yet original” box for the $100 box that sat in their warehouse over 40 days from when I was supposed to receive it. I think the only reason why I received it at all was persistence, and letting them know I was contacting my credit card company. BACK TO LLB – This is a small company, not a giant one like who I ordered from on my example, and they responded on the weekend, at night, and shipped my replacements which I had in less than a week from my complaint. I AM IMPRESSED! I feel for LLB as everyone has high expectations. And when someone’s isn’t met as they do not like Kate Spade for example, they slam the box. Not stating you do not like the brand, but I have read comments on sites that I was surprised about the tone. You sub to these types of boxes for surprises, fun, some companies for the selections and themes, the value, the delight in not knowing what you will get. Yes everyone is entitled to their opinions on what you like or not and should be able to share them, absolutely! But sometimes I read really harsh criticism on products you do not like, or you did not want as you sub to tons of other boxes and received them tons of times. Not everyone subs to tons of boxes. Some peole love Italian treasure boxes as a nice change to the norm. I had an incredible family dinner and loved it. And we like getting things you may not. While I agree with blue items for one – funny but they came from all the same company. It’s our tone in how we talk about our likes and dislikes that take a different meaning. LLB – if you are reading this, you hit it out of the park! With the theme, the customer service. The extra bottle of Oil/vinegar. LOVED IT! Excited for the next box. Keep on Keeping on please.

I had a similar experience. The lid on my Black Olive Pate came off during shipping, so I sent LLB a message on Facebook. They responded almost immediately with an apology and a tracking number for another package of the product. I thanked them for the quick response, and they apologized for it happening again. I rarely reach out to customer service, so it was nice to have such a positive interaction with them. They shipped via Priority Mail, so my new pate arrived just a day or two later!

Has anyone received their full-sized bottle of oil or vinegar yet? My order is still showing as processing, so I was just wondering about the turn around time. 🙂

You know, i have not looked for tracking at all yet. I was impatient. I live in Jacksonville and St Augustine is a quick drive…let me tell you, i bought quite a few and the ones i opened are AMAZING!!! Love finding this small business. Love that it is so close to me!

Txelaine

No doubt many have had positive experiences that went above and beyond expectations. And some have receive absurdly hateful emails, a few unsolicited after being “tracked down”. All from the same company. Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde inconsistency. Most businesses, small and large, have a customer relations protocol in order to provide some sort of consistency.

I’m really hoping LLB will consider making adjustments (amends in some cases) to their approach dealing with anything they consider criticism. There are so many positives about the box. Darth Vader negates so much of the good.

I can’t figure out where to put the code for the olive oil. Where on the website is it? Thanks!

Sign in and search for oil. Just pick the flavor and put in cart. Use code when checking out.

This box wasn’t for me. Luckily, it was for a lot of people because it sold within 5 minutes of putting it on the swap listings.

Ordered my extra olive oil! How AWESOME! I can’t believe we get an entire other bottle after getting two little ones, as well! I am sorry to hear that some folks received broken bottles…what a bummer for all involved. I feel lucky that my post office took better care of it!

As for the other items, I’m excited for the dish soap (that’s a big bottle!), the tea towel, and even the little jewelry dish. It looks a little homemade at first, but I also see how it looks designer as well. I received one with the design on top.

I know some were not ecstatic for a food box, but they did a food box better than anyone else, imo! And for cheaper! ($32 for me on the annual, but still good deal at regular $40 price). I see some folks said that the value was less on this one than others, but keep in mind that it costs a LOT MORE to ship a heavy box.

Reply ButtonReply

Marie

Hmmm, so the LLB sub went up in price 50% per box, but the RV is less than what it was when the boxes were $40?.. Well, not a hard decision to make; I’ll pass..

Reply ButtonReply

Hildol

It didn’t actually go up on this April box as they were closed for new subbers so buying this box was at the old rate. In June it’s the new cost pet box.

I thought this box was just fab. The balsamic is delicious and I’m excited to pick out another. The ring dish will actually be used in my bathroom next to the popsugar bowl from December. I cook a lot so I have other versions of most of the items, but I love seeing what LLB picked out. I’d buy the box again (and wish I had another because it would be perfect as a house warming gift).

Loved the box, no broken items for me. Tea Towel is adorable, my uncle operates a farm market out of his truck. I will be sending this to him. Excited to try the oils, so cool that we get a 13 oz bottle. Ordered tonight, no problem. Dish soap smells wonderful. Trinket dish is very pretty but delicate. It is truly a thoughtful item to include in this box. Thank you to LLB.

My vinegar was shattered in the box. Leaked on everything that wasn’t covered. No good!

Great box – I can’t think of a better theme! Even my husband really liked this box. Good job, LLB!

I kind of loved this box. As much as I love beauty items, due to my box problem I have about enough creams and balms to last me til the apocalypse. One of LLB’s strengths is the element of surprise and the variation from month to month.
I love high end gourmet food items and will use all the pasta, pesto and oils, and desperately needed a new tea towel. The soap feels luxe and indulgent (and will get used). I hear everyone else on the unglazed, plain jewelry dish– it just looks unfinished somehow, even with the explanation behind it. And I was shocked that after such a heavy, full box we are getting Yet another full- size olive oil.

The mailman just delivered my box everything arrived perfect, nothing broken. I can’t wait to try the red pepper and eggplant sauce I got. It’s a rainy day, I think a nice loaf of warm bread and a pasta dinner is in order tonight. I just love this sub!
