Thanks Jerilynn for letting us know about this update! The next FrenchBox will ship in May. They will be contacting all subscribers this week with the details and options for transitioning to the new box. (I'm not sure what that will mean, but I'm guessing it may include: shipping every other month, and/or raising the price). What do you think?

I’m new to subscription boxes and am already addicted (8 subs so far, yikes, how did that happen?). I didn’t even know there was a Frenchbox. I love all things French, so this is right up my alley. I definitely want to get in on this, but it sounds like they did some shady things like send out old products? Do you think they are worth giving another shot? What is the price per month? Thanks for any advice!

I was looking into this box and decided not to get it. You can look up the old reviews and posts for this box to get the details on all the mishaps. Here’s the short version: Not only did they send old items but items with mystery ingredients. To rectify this they sent subscribers two more items. But these items were also old (as in several years old). Then they completely changed their structure which was confusing and in my opinion unfair to annual subscribers.
The previous reviews had me hesitating to sign up but after all this I will never sign up for this sub. I am saving up for Oui Please which seems to have a much better curation and value.

SJ, Thanks for the feedback. I read up on their last box and saw the photos — everything looked so beat up and sad. My ears perked up at your mention of “Oui Please” and I went to their site. Oh my. You weren’t exaggerating when you said “save up for” — it’s expensive, but looks so good! Oh, how could all this have started with a mere Ipsy bag 4 months ago? lol

I think it was pathetic that the replacement items they sent were old (and thanks to Birdie for calling the manufacturers and finding out that one of the items was discontinued in 2011 and the other in 2013). It’s the height of chutzpah to send an old product to replace an old product. I don’t think they deserved to be trusted again.

I didn’t know this either. I must have missed it in comments but still didn’t see it when I went back and looked again. Did French Box actually admit this at some point? Or was this uncovered by someone on MUT? There are some super sleuths there. I swear I’d hire them before most PIs, lol.
