FabKids Subscription Review: Boys Edition – April 2015 Large Outfit

Navy Spring Occasion Outfit - Value $54

It's getting warm outside where we live, and way too warm for the formal clothes that my sons wear to church! Fortunately, our church is very informal in the warmer months, so I bought both the boys an outfit this month that I think they can wear to church without looking too casual. This outfit is for my nine-year-old. The outfit comes in a choice of colors for the shorts, so I opted for beige since he already has some navy shorts that are similar to these.

Here's a closer look at the shirt. My older son has a dark complexion, and I think this green color will look so vibrant on him! Like all Fab Kids clothes, this seems very well made.

FabKids Subscription Review: Boys Edition – April 2015 Twill SHort

These shorts are VERY heavy-duty and seem super sturdy, yet still comfortable. I also like that he can wear a belt with these; it will give him a more polished look for church.

FabKids Subscription Review: Boys Edition – April 2015 Medium Outfit

Summertime Plaid outfit - Value $54

This is the outfit that I picked out for my seven-year-old. I can't wait until they wear their outfits to church together! I don't know why mothers get such a thrill out of dressing their children in coordinating outfits, but we totally do!

FabKids Subscription Review: Boys Edition – April 2015 Med Shirt

My younger son has blue eyes, and I think this top will make them sparkle! I also really like the contrast color of the bottom button. It's a really cute detail for a younger boy!

FabKids Subscription Review: Boys Edition – April 2015 Cargo Short

This outfit came with drawstring cargo shorts for my younger son. I like that he will be able to play in these shorts as well as wear them to church. I think he's young enough to get away with that! They also seem well made and only slightly less sturdy than the twill shorts. On the other hand, I wish that Fab Kids had more mix-and-match options with their outfits! They only have certain bottoms available with certain tops, so if they don't have your size in one or the other, or if you don't like one or the other, then you might have to pass up an item you really like. I would have preferred getting the same shorts with this outfit as I did with the older son's outfit. These are great, though, and I'm sure he will get a lot of use out of them.

Verdict: I love Fab Kids clothing, and I absolutely can't wait to send the kids to church in these outfits! This month the value was about $108 for $60 - the value is always great. The clothes are much nicer than what you might get at a discount store, but the prices are similar. They also can really stand a lot of wear and tear, and believe me, my boys put them through the test!

There's only one slight issue I'm having... This month and last month I had to contact customer service, and both months I had pretty bad experiences dealing with them. I won't go into details because everything turned out fine. I would just like to mention that if you need to contact customer service, call them. It will save you time and aggravation. I have tried emailing them and chatting online with them, and I would have been better off just calling them upfront. Just a helpful tip!

What do you think of FabKids for boys? Which outfit did you pick out this month?

Laura

We love fab kids. I just placed an order for my two boys and now I want the ones you picked too ;). So cute. And I think they are the best quality of clothes we own for the boys

I agree about the quality, totally. I can’t vouch for the girl clothes, but the boy clothes are something else. You have to actually feel a pair of their jeans in your hands to understand how sturdy they are! Thanks Laura!

Sounds like Target would yield the exact results you want in outfits for kids without the FabKids price tag.

Hi Dean! Maybe, but FabKids quality is much better. Just my opinion…

I have a boy and a girl in different sizes, can I alternate purchasing outfits between the two or would I need two accounts?

I bought a few outfits from Fab Kids for my daughter in the past, and while the weight and construction felt pretty nice, the sizing was terrible. Everything was short and wide. Maybe she just has the wrong body type for them (long and lean) but everything always fit weird. Plus for months I thought 95% of the girl’s stuff was hideous. All neon colors. For my money I rather shop a million other places.
