TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE BUY…. I BOUGHT THE FOREVER YOUNG BAG….
MOST OF THEM ARE SAMPLES! ONLY 2 OF THE PRODUCTS WERE TRAVEL SIZE :/

I ordered the Locks of Lovin’ bag, Forever Young bag and the Makeover Bag. I, too, am blown away by all of the products in the hair bag! I could not believe all of the Carol’s Daughter and full size Nick Chavez products that were included. Absolutely worth with $35.00! I received the same contents as Kim for the Forever Young bag. The value in the bag was certainly worth the $35.00 but I think the $200+ value they said the bag was worth might be off. I got many, many small samples and really not overly excited to try any of the products other than the Medicell Labs brightening peel. I have a few smaller tube samples that are pretty much empty, like the HydroPeptide (all air).

Full size Cargo Beach Blush in the shade Cable Beach. ( I got this about 6 months ago in another one of their bags)

The value is there with this bag too, but not really excited about it since I already have the Cargo Blush and I won’t wear the yellow Cargo eye shadow. The other samples were just very small and I wish the Dr. Brandt would not have been expired.

The Hair Bag is a winner, and the Forever Young kit is okay too….but I wish I would not have purchased the Makeover Kit.

I received my Spa Queen bag today. It was exactly the same as yours except for instead of the “Medicell Brightening Body Cream foil sample” I received a Raw Beauty Kat Burki Rose Hip Revitalizing Serum foil sample and a SkinCeuticals Advanced Pigment Corrector small sample tube (maybe .125 oz?) I used the springbeauty code so maybe the SkinCeuticals sample was from that? Not sure. The packing slip listed item number 1190409 as the complimentary gift from the code but I don’t see any items with that number on them. (Although not all of the items have numbers on them so who knows.) Anyway, I am very happy with this bag! 🙂 And thanks for putting that list together…

I got the spa bag and makeover. Spa was really nice but I was not impressed with the make over bag and one item was expired.

I just received my Locks of Lovin box in the mail today. I am very happy with the box, using prices from a mix of Amazon, Dermstore and manufacturer websites it has an approximate value of $170. The box contained so many items I may not have to buy hair products for a very long time. I am so glad I gave in and bought this box as a treat for myself. I will admit that I didn’t read the description well so I wasn’t expecting anything like this I thought it would be a few items not a whole box of new things to try. There were 12 items in the box, and 6 of them were full size.

There were 3 Carols Daughter products , a travel size shampoo and conditioner as well as a curl therapy mask (this was smaller than full size, but not really a travel size). A Philip B Maui Wowi, this was full size. Several Nick Chavez items a prickly pear repair spray, a volumizing spray (both travel size), and a thickening shampoos, and Volume hair spray (both full size). A full size Jonathon conditoner, full size Rescue Rapid Hair Mask by Intelligent Hair, Keranique scalp stimulating shampoo (travel size), and finally a travel size Batiste dry shampoo (which I never complain about because I always forget to buy this stuff at the store)

I got an e-mail from Dermstore this morning saying that the Spa Queen has been discontinued and that my order will be canceled. Bummer. 🙁

Mine was too 🙁 I don’t know what took them so long for the email. Most mother days shipping cut offs were the 4th so if you wanted to order something else in place it won’t be there in time. Just disappointed about not receiving the box, really upset it took so long to get notice.

Thanks for sharing. I get mine tomorrow. Do you think the contents deliver on the $208 value in the description? The sizes seem small for the most part and the two full size items are only in the $30 range.

I just got mine too and already blogged about it. I can’t believe that one of the 13 products was a foil! And, indeed, 3 others were so small that they didn’t even say how big they were.

Not counting the small samples, I got a value for the box of $130. I was using the Amazon.com prices, though, which are probably lower than the manufacturer prices.

That said, I’m fairly happy with the box. I like trying new products and even though the samples are small there are lots of them. I don’t like the foil, however.

I just got mine today. I’m happy with brands. Good quality. However, sizes for most part very small. No, I do not feel the value is anywhere near $208 considering you can get these sizes samples free many times.

I just ordered a Spa Queen Grab Bag and the order went through with my 15% off new-subscriber coupon. But before I made the order, I noticed that on the side of the page, it says: “This product is no longer available. However, California Baby Basics Tote Super Sensitive is a very similar product and can be used in place of Spa Queen Mystery Grab Bag” (with a picture of this California Baby Basics product) even though the ADD TO CART button is still there. I really hope the my order was valid because it took me forever to convince myself to place it!!

i was wondering that to . one of the things i do like about this box its reasonable and it is good value if i buy a beauty box the box must be worth more then what i pay other wise i will skip boxes i do not mine paying a high price if the box is worth more but if its not i will skip then try again buy the third time i am gone . all of us work hard for our money the box has to be great to keep going looking very forward to this box xoxo dorothy

Well, they should have at least one extra Forever Young box to send to someone. I had cancelled my original order (after I realized I could get the box at a discount) but they still sent out the box. I contacted customer service and they’re issuing a refund and giving me a pre-paid return label. I think that’s pretty good customer service.

Wow, these sold out fast. I know that a lot of people have really gotten a mix of products with these grab bags in the past, but in March, when they were last available, I ordered one of each type available and they were unbelievably awesome. Almost all full size products and true to theme – i.e. the eye care bag had eye products, the skin care bag had skin care products.

I was a couple days late ordering this time, mainly because I’m broke from sub overload, and now, sadly, the make up and spa bags are sold out.

However, based on my past experience with these mystery bags, as well as with Dermstore’s Customer Service, I would definitely recommend them. Many of the products included in the bags were indeed best sellers and the ones I didn’t use or gift, I had no problem swapping!

Anti aging and spa box are both sold out :'( as they were in my cart too! Oh well. I picked up the hair box since my hair is in need of some love and as a birchbox and beautyfix subscriber (and former ipsy) I REALLY dont need the makeup bag lol.

I had them both in my cart too and the Spa Queen sold out, but I managed to get the other. Sometimes they replenish the supply, but the box may end up being a little different. I guess we’ll see. I think these sold out much faster than other grab bags have in the past.

I wanted to try the spa queen bag but it’s no longer available. I think I’ll try one of the others. For the price you can’t beat it it’s not like those other high priced boxes where you pay $100 and you get a lot of different items. I’ll take a chance and see what I get.

OK, here’s my two cents…I ordered two mystery grab bags back in mid-March and loved them! One was the “Mane Changers” and the other was “Skin care A-listers.” I literally added the value of each item I received and each box was easily more than $200, with no expired items. There were plenty of full-sized items as well as deluxe samples and one-time use packets. This was my first order from them and I was in awe of everything I received, especially after hearing previous mystery grab bag reviews. I shared several items that weren’t my type to my sisters and have even put a few things back for future gifts (including a 4-pc boxed nail polish set.) As soon as I saw this post, I didn’t hesitate to order more! I realize that I may not be as lucky this time but I’m willing to take a gamble and at the very least, it’ll stock me up on more gifts. For anyone who does order, remember to start at Ebates for 4% cash back. By the way, I couldn’t get any of the discount codes to work for an actual discount, but did qualify for a free gift.

I agree. I have always been impressed with my mystery bags from Dermstore. They give lots of free samples too, and the samples aren’t all little foil packets. The value is off the charts. Of course I immediately purchased the anti aging box. I purchase the mystery boxes every time they go on sale.

I don’t recommend derm store mystery boxes. I bought three in January and they were awful. Just seemed like a bunch of samples I could have gotten free. I’m never buying anything from them again. Three boxes I received didn’t even feel like the price I paid for one box.

Has anyone had luck with these Dermastore mystery bags before? I ordered last time, and the products I received didn’t even break even with what I paid. I sent an email, and it was ignored. I’m wondering if it’s a fluke since they seem popular, or if they just really have poor customer service and ethics..

I got the Winter Wonders bag and I *loved it*. The value was definitely there. I paid $30 for it and got a full size eye cream, a moisturizing camphor cream, a purleese sunscreen, a laura geller eye pencil (which I swapped), and their makeup bag. Samples included 2 face sprays and a serum. The total value of the bag was $186. But I know not all bags are the same.

I purchased The Time Traveler Bag in January I believe. The bag was okay at best and the values stated were extremely inflated for the bag I received. My bag could of just been a 1 off, but I’m hesitant to buy another mystery nag from them after my last experience.

FYI for whomever gets this. I just used a dermstore coupon code for 20% off your order. It worked, kind of… it said you could not use it, when I entered the code BUT, then when I clicked to check out it gave me 10.50 off (instead of the 14$ which would have been 20% off two of the grab bags) I am totally okay with that… the code that kind of worked was springbeauty… hope this helps someone xoxo

If you read the instructions, there a link in your cart within the description of the magazine “Click Here for Offer and Refund Details” There is a form you fill out and mail in for the refund similar to a rebate.

Reading the terms of the magazine offer at the very bottom it states. “Once a customer receives a refund, they will no longer be eligible for any additional magazines or refunds. ” Does that mean you can only get one $20 credit total or one per $20 per each magazine offer. It looks like with a $80 purchase you can get three $20 magazine. So can you get a $80 order the request the $20 three times or just once and you have to keep the other two magazines.

You can request the refund once. I purchased from them a while back and had the same questions. You can submit a one single refund request for the 3 magazines. So you’d get $60 back. It’s a great deal. Though I just purchased what I wanted and didn’t get the mystery boxes. FYI you can only get a refund once so if you’ve gotten a magazine deal from them previously you can’t get another one.
