Petit Vour Vegan Beauty Subscription Box Review – March 2015 Info

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included, and tips for using them.

Petit Vour Vegan Beauty Subscription Box Review – March 2015 Mask

The Little Alchemist Cacao & Banana Face Glow - 30 grams Value $32

This mask is made with all natural ingredients! You mix one teaspoon of the powder with water and leave it on your face for 10 minutes. I like powdered masks since they have a long shelf life and lots of uses, so I'm excited to try this!

Petit Vour Vegan Beauty Subscription Box Review – March 2015 Juice Beauty

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream in Natural Glow - .5 oz Value $11.50

I've received samples of this CC Cream in subscription boxes before - but they've always been tiny samples, so I'm impressed that this sample should be able to last at least 2 weeks.

As far as BB/CC creams go, this one is on the light side when it comes to coverage. I like a decent amount of coverage, so it's not a perfect fit for me, but since it has SPF 30 and is good for my skin, I like using it under foundation.

Petit Vour Vegan Beauty Subscription Box Review – March 2015 LipBalm

MSC Skincare Lavender & Spearmint Nourishing Lip Cream - FULL SIZE! Value $7

This lip balm is made with all natural ingredients, and I think the spearmint flavor is the dominant one - which I prefer. It's very moisturizing too!

Vert Mont Perfumery Eros Wellness Perfume - 1.5 ml Value $5.25

I normally don't like getting perfume samples in subscription boxes - but the exception is for natural perfumes I normally wouldn't come across. This Eros perfume is made without synthetic fragrance and I think I like it!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $56 - I think that's great! This subscription seems to be more about quality than quantity, and I appreciate that. I'll use every item in the box, so I'm very happy with the March Petit Vour box.

What do you think of the latest box from Petit Vour?

Fyi…. According to a spoiler on their Facebook page a week ago, the April box will include a Konjac facial cleanser sponge.

I was really excited about the Beauty Juice CC cream in March’s box. I got “Warm Glow”, the middle tone of the five colors they offer. I am a bit disappointed because it gave my skin this orange tint. I already have a yellow undertone so this orange tint just made me look darker and orangey. I do like the product so I am thinking of investing in a lighter shade maybe “Natural Glow” since I have a feeling that “Desert Glow” might have a tint of orange too. I think this product is pricey so I really wish they gave us maybe two smaller samples of two different shade close to our skin tone? Oh wells.

Not a big fan of the smell of the perfume but I do love the face mask. It really smelled delicious on my face. I liked the texture on the lip balm but not the smell. It just doesn’t smell good at all to me.

This box hasn’t been too great for me compare to the previous 3 boxes I got from them. I will still use all the products just because they are good products but definitely not my favorite.

For those of you who haven’t tried the mask yet, you should be mindful of it’s potential to stain. I tried it last night and went over my face with my facial scrub brush while I was washing it off and it turned the bristles of my brush a light yellowish color. I also noticed the yellow color when I went over my face with toner and a cotton face pad. I had to do that a couple of times before the yellowish color went away. So if you have white towels, white pillowcases, make sure you are thorough in removing any residue. I think the yellow staining is probably caused by the yellow clay and turmeric root ingredients. I definitely plan to keep using the mask because I like the results but just have to be careful of the potential to stain.

I don’t wear perfume and hated the My Daughter fragrance from last month, but I really like Eros. A lot. The shop owner said that this comes with a rollerball top, not a spray, which is great for small applications.

Petit Vour is getting the stainless rollerball, or you can order through her Etsy shop and request the stainless roller (as opposed to the current plastic variety). If you order through her shop, she’ll add another sample to your order. I want to try Soma, too, so I’ve already ordered through her Etsy page.

Good to know!

I love getting natural perfumes as I had to say goodbye to my old favorites that were toxic. There is a short supply of nontoxic perfume samples circulating. So bring it, Petit Vour!

As a vegan, this is my favorite box! I loved everything this month! I’m going to have to buy that perfume in a bigger size. 🙂

Marie

Love this box!! I subscribe to a lot of boxes, and this is a hit for me!!

You can always mix the Cc cream with a lighter foundation or use a lighter one under like around eyes, nose bridge and around nares, and put the darker shade on cheeks and middle of forehead for a sun kiss subtle glow

That fragrance is NOT for me. At all. None.
The CC Cream is like I put nothing on at all.
Disappointed that I don’t like them, but glad to get to try them out to find out whether or not they’re for me…which is exactly what these boxes are for.
This was my first box from them & I’m happy with it, pretty much.

FYI – Petit Vour stopped International Shipping on their sub box in January. They still ship non-flammable items from their online shop internationally, but the monthly sub box only ships to the US and Canada. 🙂

I was looking forward to trying the CC cream, but the one I received is “warm glow” and I have light/fair skin so it will likely be too dark for me. I haven’t opened it yet… still deciding whether to give it away or hold off and try it once I have a little sun this summer. I’m looking forward to trying face mask though and I love the lip balm.

I wasn’t initially excited to see another perfume sample, but I was happy to see it is a natural perfume and I really like the scent. Word of caution, it has more of a body oil consistency than most perfumes. I got some on the neckline of my shirt when I was trying it and it left an oily, residue and dark stain that eventually came out but only after rinsing several times and using stain remover. Just a heads-up!

You might want to double check your survey to see if there is a question about skin tone. You could also email them. Petit Vour has been great at responding to things like that.

I have fair skin too and the warm glow shade blended nicely on me. The coverage ends up being pretty sheer.

Good to know! Thanks, Amy.

The mask made my skin really soft, but oh my gosh it burned my face. It’s the exact same reaction I get from the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay mask. The redness and burning went away after about half an hour. I mixed it with purified water and left it on for 10 minutes, and I have sensitive skin, so if anyone has sensitive skin, I’d recommend trying it out on a small area before you put the mask on your whole face. I’m fair skinned, and the CC cream was nice, but way too orange for me. I loved the lip balm though, so that’s a new favorite 🙂

Oh, I was thinking the repair cream was more for treating uneven skin tone. I didn’t pay attention to it being like a tinted concealer or foundation. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Oh well, still looking forward to trying the lip balm and mask!

Love love love this sub, but do wish they’d ship it a little sooner in the month, mine isn’t scheduled to arrive until March 30th (which hardly feels like a March box at that point).

Emily S.

I agree. Especially since the box is billed on the 1st of each month.

I really enjoyed this box and will use everything. I get a lot of lip balms and lipsticks and don’t like getting them in boxes anymore, but I loved the idea of lavender and spearmint, so I opened this one and tried it immediately. It’s a really good lip balm. And I always love getting masks in my boxes. I even liked the perfume scent. It was very earthy. This was a big win for me.

you should try mixing the mask with yogurt for a softening effect as well! or even mashed avocado (but that would probably be better eaten, lol) 😀

I really like the Eros scent but I was disappointed to get another perfume sample vial. I don’t mind the size but they are so difficult to open that it takes all the joy out of it! I would love to get small spray bottles instead. The vial just seems like something they should give out for free and two months in a row is a bit of a bummer (I also liked the My Daughter fragrance from last month, but disliked the vial).

EC

I would prefer a few months with no small perfume vials/samples, period. Back to back months is a but much, especially in a box that only sends 4 items. I did like the scents last month and the one from this box is also nice. Unusual, but nice. I just prefer better variety from month to month versus expecting 1/4 products to be a perfume sample each time. I think that’s a pretty common opinion among beauty sub box subscribers too. One that PV should probably take note of going forward. I love this sub, perfume and all but there’s always room for improvement 🙂

cindi

I agree completely. Perhaps when PV launches their updated beauty profile, we can request no perfume samples. It’s really a null item for those of who simply cannot use a fragrance.

Demure

When I got to the cacao and banana powder I immediately got my brush out and applied this “foundation” all over my face. I wasn’t please with its coverage or the color. I knew I couldn’t walk out of the house looking like that. I thought, “wow they sent me such a poor quality product”. Then I looked at the container again. It says, it’s a dry “MASK”. Boy I was so embarrassed. Lol But relieved. And it was funny 😀

Reply ButtonReply

CJ

LOL! Don’t be embarrassed, I thought it was mineral foundation too when I first looked at Liz’s photo!

Reply ButtonReply

EC

Last month I thought the lotion was lip gloss! I wore it that way for 2 days before I bothered reading the container, lol. Thank goodness it’s all natural. And oddly tasty.

Thanks for sharing Demure! I love your story. Sounds so much like something I’d do!

That sounds exactly like something I would do! Thanks for the laugh!

This looks like a great box. Now I’m going to have to subscribe.

Thank you for sharing natural skincare boxes! As I don’t wear makeup, I really like boxes that focus more on skin and body care than makeup and nail polishes. Also, I’m trying to transition in to using more natural, organic products so this looks like it could be another good box option for me. I tried Kloverbox and loved that one so I just signed up for Petit Vour too!

Lynn

For the last few months I’ve tried to switch over to cruelty-free products, which often are the same boxes as the natural organic ones. Petit vour is definitely my favorite, I really recommend trying it.

Thanks Lynn. It’s reassuring to know someone else has been pleased with this box. If future boxes are anything like this one, I’m sure I’m going to love it!
