Little Lace Box is a lifestyle subscription box for women. They’ve been around for about a year so far – and I’ve been really impressed with the quality of their boxes so far.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Cost: $39.99 a month (Subscriptions are currently sold out, and they won’t be opening up any more slots for March – I’ll post when subscriptions are open again).

The Products: Fashion and beauty items, with one item highlighting from an up and coming designer

Delivered via: USPS

Little Lace Box Subscription Review – March 2015 Letter

Each box comes with a letter detailing the theme of the month and hints at the next month’s box. This month's theme is "Here Comes the Sun," and it is all about nourishing your mind, body and soul.

The letter also hints at next month's items. The theme for April will be "Nonna's Kitchen" - things for you and your kitchen.

Little Lace Box Subscription Review – March 2015 Info

On the flipside of the letter each item included is detailed, complete with retail value.

Little Lace Box Subscription Review – March 2015 Kate Spade

Kate Spade Water Bottle – Value $29.99

I will always be happy to see anything from Kate Spade in a subscription box! I also love that the bottle itself is glass. (The gold glitter is a rubber sleeve on the outside of the bottle).

Little Lace Box Subscription Review – March 2015 Shampoo

Cali Baronessa Torocco Shampoo and Conditioner – Value $32

I love the Sicilian Red Orange scent of these! Also, getting full-size shampoo and conditioner in a box is pretty rare, so I thought this inclusion was a nice surprise.

Unfortunately for me, the shampoo has sulfates in the formula, and I have to avoid those in hair products since my hair is color-treated. I'll be passing these along to a friend or swapping them.

Little Lace Box Subscription Review – March 2015 Urban Spa

All Natural Urban Sea Sponge – Value $14

This should be a nice alternative to a mesh pouf bath sponge. They recommend using it for removing masks or facial scrubs too.

Gallery Wrapped Canvas Print

Custom 12' X 12' Gallery Wrapped Print - Value $52 (Subscribers received an email with instructions on how to redeem).

I'm so excited about this item! We have a few wrapped canvas prints, and admittedly, they are all featuring our dog Buckles. Maybe this time it's time to get a family photo with me and Eric in the picture as well!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $128. I think that's great for a $40 box, and with the exception of the shampoo and conditioner, I will use everything. I think my favorite item will end up being the canvas print - it's such a thoughtful and personal item.

What did you think of the March 2015 Little Lace Box? And have you picked out which picture you'll be using for the canvas yet?

I wasn’t able to redeem my code for a canvas yet and now the website says they are sold out (and you can’t redeem the code!?)… does anyone know about this?

I just wanted to add and honest and real life experience dealing with their (LLB) customer service. I originally subscribed back in 2014….when i resubscribed in Jan 2015, I decided to use a second email address to get the discount on my new account. Well let me tell you how big of a mistake this turned out to be. They did not send a box for over two months so by March I was emailing them asking about it….with no response…..a couple weeks later I decided to email again, because by this time I had been charged 39.99 twice additionally and had received no boxes. By end of April I received one box, I wrote an email asking if I was going to be getting another box or I was getting a refund…..they told me I was refunded, (I was but for only one of the 39.99 charges). So I wrote back and explained that I was not refunded, then they wrote back a snooty note, and decided to refund me the discounted amount, and I had paid for another box and had paid regular price…so they took back the discount and basically called me a criminal for using a second email address……I was in shock so I had to share my story! dont make the same mistake with signing up twice under two different emails….yikes….i have experienced TERRIBLE customer service…every time I emailed…and this emailing took place over 4 months………and by the end I got blamed, no apology and basically called a criminal for using two email accounts with no apology ever in this whole ordeal….WOW!!

Ahhh! I just got April’s box!! I’m shaking I’m so excited!!

OMG I am so jealous! Tracking says mine is supposed to arrive today, but it also says it is still in Orlando, so I’m not sure. So, so excited. I think the fact that they raised prices and I am still getting it on the annual sub price that I purchased it at in January makes me love it even more…

It’s an amazing box. Maybe yours will arrive today. Most times my tracking number doesn’t update for sub boxes.

PA Anna

I was charged today for April’s box. I am looking forward to the theme, plus it’s my birthday month:) It has to be an amazing box.

I just got notification that my print has shipped!! Should be here Friday, so excited! (I did upload within the week with a square shaped photo).

LLB sent a long email explaining changes.

Liz – Do you have it? It might make it easier for everyone to discuss this on a separate blog post if you feel that is appropriate.

Kristin

That was quite a long email! I’m going to be sad to only receive a box once every other month now but I totally understand why they feel the need to go bi-monthly. Really happy I got the annual sub when I did. Kind of weird to think I’m set to receive LLB for the next two years without paying again! 🙂

Bish

I think they will do better as a bi-monthly. The monthly subs seem to eventually have trouble keeping up unless they have investors. (Ipsy, Birchbox, PopSugar etc)

Ally

Has anyone attempted to redeem their canvas print yet? I have been having a heck of a time trying to upload an acceptable photo. I try to send my photo and it disappears but doesn’t show me any confirmation. Kind of frustrating…

Nancy M.

On their FB page they say that all points and account history should show up on the new website by 1 April.

Reply ButtonReply

Karah

Just FYI…I still can’t find any trace of the LLB point system on April 1st.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

I just logged in today and my points are showing, but it looks like you can’t earn points anymore for reviewing products. Only if you refer friends or buy something, that’s pretty disappointing. Their point system was amazing.

Sarah

Does anyone here know how the llb point system works? What the value is , what one can spend them on ? Also I am unable to see the points on the new website, does anyone know where to find them ? Thanks

I just received an email from LLB – apparently a number of subscribers with email addresses starting with “M” or “L” got inadvertently deleted so if you haven’t received your March box yet, you might want to email LLB to have it sorted out.

Melody

Interesting. Guess that’s why I never got the box. Oh well. You think they would’ve backed up that kind of information. Sad I’ve lost my place as a subscriber.

I know we have some very ingredient savvy members. What’s the verdict on the Olive hair cleanser as far as compatibility with color-treated hair? The newsletter states it is safe for all hair however, I see many ingredients listing what appears to be some version of sodium laurel/laureth sulfate. I’m not a chemist so I don’t understand all the nuances between the names.

Thanks!

I liked the box overall. The water bottle was a hit for me. I use glass bottles exclusively and was happy to get a smaller sized bottle. Sadly, I just dropped it on a hardwood floor and it shattered. The bottle definitely wasn’t as hardy as my camelback or lifefactory glass bottles, which I have dropped outside many times. 🙁

I got the hot pink water bottle (I hate pink), the sponge and two of the Oliva shampoos. I emailed LLB to let them know I received two of the shampoos and no conditioner (I am overloaded on shampoos and wished I had received two conditioners instead)…. LLB got back to me in 30 minutes and said they were going to send me a set of conditioners to go with the set of shampoos I got by mistake.

Well, low and behold, they sold out of the Oliva conditioners and couldn’t send any to me. INSTEAD, they sent me a whole package of goodies. A set of the orange shampoo and conditioner, a Luxe body butter, and a package of Beekman Facial Cleansing Wipes! I’m floored that they went over and above for me like this.

I recently bought a new car so I had to cancel most of my subscriptions and I ended up keeping LLB and Popsugar…. I was going to cancel one of these too but honestly, LLB just totally won me over.

Mandy

Has anyone’s LLB subscription been canceled after they switched websites? I am super annoyed because I didn’t get any emails about cancelation and I didn’t even cancel.

Reply ButtonReply

Melody

Apparently my subscription has been cancelled. Never was charged. Or sent a box. Kinda irritated. They never apologized for it either. They just told me to email back around the tenth to be sure to get the next box. I don’t understand why that sortof information wouldn’t have been backed up in different places several times.

I am having the same problem. I contacted them by email. Hoping to get a quick response. Your post was what made me checked my account

Reply ButtonReply

PA Anna

How can you tell if your account has been cancelled? My account only shows my address and past purchase history.

LB

It sounds like anyone can add the canvas to their cart on the website and then put it the code. I would still like it confirmed that it works for the swapper.

Reply ButtonReply

LB

So I went to the page with the canvas and added it to my card without being signed in and the free shipping shows up and the discount area for the code as well – should be no problem:)

LB

cart not “card”

Kelly

Love this box! If anyone is interested in selling the whole box – let me know!!!

Reply ButtonReply

LB

Has anyone that has swapped the code confirmed that it can be used by a different recepient?

Reply ButtonReply

LB

If not- it would be easy to just send the photo file to the original code recepient and they could submit it for the swapper – may have to pay for a different shipping address.

I’ve been enjoying my box 🙂

I think I am one of the few that are happy to receive a full-size shampoo and conditioner. I received the Oliva Shampoo and Conditioner which is paraben-free and SLS-free. It works great with on my hair which is thick, long, wavy, and color-treated. it did not affect my color, and my hair is soft and shiny after use.

I’ll be using the sponge to take off my masks. I’ve been using paper towels so this is a better solution. I received the turquoise water bottle and love that it is glass and made without harmful chemicals.

The canvas is a little intimidating to me. I’m glad that we have time to redeem our codes. I do love that it is a personalized item.

The letter and emails don’t bother me. I think they want us to be happy with their boxes, but it is hard to please everyone. They are being transparent with us which I think is a good thing. Plus I enjoy reading about how other businesses run and their struggles/solutions.

I’m excited about the kitchen theme and can’t wait to see what is included in the box.

Has anyone tried to use the canvas code yet? I did and it tried to charge me shipping. I got the impression that shipping was free. Any info on this?

PA Anna

Someone posted on MUT (Makeup Talk Forum) that they are aware of the problem and are fixing it.

At first I felt a little disappointed when I went through this box. I got the blue bottle and the olive hair products, which I am happy with. I hadn’t seen any spoilers beforehand. Then I read the letter about the canvas and was thrilled, especially to be able to pick it out. I have looked at those things for years and never took the plunge to try one. What also makes me happy is that I haven’t seen this in a box before. There is so much stuff out there if a curator will take the time to look and is creative enough to move in new directions. Not everything will work for everyone, but I appreciate something different, and I imagine this took a lot of work to get the details ironed out. Of course, I have to get my canvas in hand before I will really know how it went!

I really liked this box, I will use everything. I got the pink bottle, and orange hair combo. The only thing I am worried about with the bottle is that the Kate spade logo in white is going to rub off after awhile. The thing that would have made this box even greater is if they had included a body wash in some spring scent, to use with the sea sponge, even a travel size one would have been great. But I really enjourfl

You should send them an email. I didn’t get mine either and they sent it again (turned out I had one in my SPAM folder from last night).

I love my box. I got the same items as Liz & they all fit me perfectly 🙂
I got the email with my code in it today. If I decide to get the print soon it’ll probably be a picture of my boyfriend & I, but if I can hold off until Nov/Dec I can put a picture of Istanbul or Athens in it…decisions decisions…
