Horror Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Info

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included.

Horror Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Tee

Together Forever Tee - Value $10

Each Block subscription box comes with a tee. They are usually exclusive designs too, made with 100% cotton, and the fabric has a good weight to it.

Horror Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Plush

Microbes Zombie Virus - Value $10

We've received a giant microbe plush before in the regular Nerd Block, and I like that they included a Zombie version for Horror Block subscribers this month.

Horror Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Rue Morgue

Bitten by Kelley Armstrong - Value $9.74

Rue Morgue Magazine - Value $10

Normally Horror Block boxes are more for my husband than for me, but I'm excited about this book after looking it up on Amazon:

Elena Michaels seems like the typically strong and sexy modern woman, She lives with her architect boyfriend, writes for a popular newspaper, and works out at the gym. She's also a werewolf.

Elena has done all she can to assimilate to the human world, but the man whose bite changed her existence forever, and his legacy, continue to haunt her. Thrown into a desperate war for survival that tests her allegiance to a secret clan of werewolves, Elena must recon with who, and what, she is in this passionate, page-turning novel that begins the Women of the Otherworld series.

Horror Block usually includes the latest Rue Morgue issue in their box, so in a way if you subscribe to Horror Block, you get a subscription to Rue Morgue as well.

Horror Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Watch

Zombie Containment Unit - Value $3

Vampire Slap Watch - Value $8?

This Zombie Containment Unit is filled with goo, and inside is a little zombie figure. It's pretty gross, and you can see all the grossness in the unboxing video below if you like!

There have been slap watches in a few other Nerd Block boxes before, but this one isn't Horror Block branded, instead it has bloody fangs on the watch face.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $51. I think that's a good value for the $30 shipped to the US cost, and I really hope Nerd Block includes more books in all of their boxes moving forward. (We know the Nerd Block Classic box will include a book in March).

What do you think of the February Horror Block? If you want to see more you can watch my husband Eric's unboxing video below:

If the box itself was $29.99 I’d have no problem justifying it and signing up, but for some reason the $19.99 plus $9.50 shipping is KILLING ME!! LOL

Weird question but is there always an itemized list of contents on the shipping label like that? Seems it would ruin the surprise aspect a little.

I believe they have to do that for customs since it ships from Canada.

I’m very disappointed. I got this box just because of the zombie theme and then not even the t-shirt is zombie. My daughter is going to be so disappointed. And it was such an expensive box as well! Unless you have interest in that magazine & book, it’s really very low value.

Well, I was wrong. My daughter liked the box despite the fact that it wasn’t really zombie-themed. However, it’s still a low value box from a kid’s perspective. The book is an “erotically charged” novel, which means it’s not appropriate for her and the magazine is above her.

Someone swap me their Zombie Virus! I have a soft spot for those plushy microbes. And once I’m left asking myself why I don’t subscribe to this box. I always love it, but I’m not a huge horror fan…

The actual first reactions during the unboxing are entertaining. I think I prefer that option for the unboxing video rather than
looking at the items first and describing them while taking them out of the box again (which is sort of just duplicating the regular review).

I was actually very disappointed the spoiler was that zombie lovers would like this box so I subscribed. Getting a container of slime and a plush virus did not make this girl happy. I cancelled because I was so disappointed.

I agree I was hoping for a more walking dead themed box 🙁 but I do appreciate each item in the box and my kids enjoy it too it wasn’t really what I was hoping for
