Five Four Club Subscription Review & Coupon – March 2015

We liked Five Four for a while- my partner and I subscribed and when one item wasn’t right for the other, we’d swap! However, we both got very irritated quickly when they made two mistakes in the subscription- for her, it was a constantly lower value, bordering on $150-175 with poorly sized items.

My boxes were pushing $315-400, which was awesome, until my last box. They put together an amazing selection for me based on my preferences in communication and promised accessories, a track-style jacket, joggers, and two shirts- that’s a lot of stuff! The item hadn’t yet left the factory when another order went through, and I assumed it was November’s shipment. For whatever reason, they decided to cancel the order they’d promised and send me two tees and a repeat shirt. I was appalled and immediately cancelled once they told me they would not ship out the promised box. I have no idea what happened but that left a horrible taste in my mouth from them. I’ve had better elsewhere.

Just recently subscribed and received my first box. It was only two items but it was a pair of jeans and a button up so I guess that utilized a good bit of the allowance.

At first I was mad I allowed them to send jeans simply because I have a hard time fitting them. But these were actually ok. Nice dark wash with rivets on the upper thigh. Definitely for a going out look. I’m glad they have a standard inseam so I can get the length altered my self. I selected a straight fit and they were indeed just that and not a slim or relaxed fit.

The shirt was nice and fit my athletic build really well. Though I can imagine guys that are too athletic might bust out of it. The quality is so-so. Maybe slightly less than express 1mx shirts (which are notorious for not lasting long). Very thin material which is good considering the hot climate I live in. I won’t be washing these much but for 35bucks (first month March promo) you can’t beat the value. Not even sure I can go into walmart and get jeans and a button down shirt for that price.

I subscribed to Five Four for 3 months and recently cancelled. They have some major issues with executing their own business model.
1) In my profile, I selected T-shirts & Jeans and that I live in a warm client. As a result, never got any jeans and have received 3 T-shirts, 3 Jackets, and 1 button down. Less than 50% accurate on my preferences.
2) Sizing – The sizing is a) super small and b) they tend to ignore the sizes you have in your profile.
3) Size returns/Shipping – A complete mess. In just 3 months they have lost multiple shipments of mine.

The value is good and the clothes are nice, but they can not execute on their own defined business model. Also, all the clothes I have seen in the reviews, have been much more in line with my preferences, yet, I never received those type of clothes.

I have been a Five Four member for over 6 months now or so. I am on the fence. This month’s box was a button down and pair of jeans, which were quite nice so I may keep it another month..

Some things to note:
Quality is not all the great, maybe it’s improving, but I have had some run ins. Buttons falling off before even wearing the shirt. Jeans have a weird burnt smell to them, that doesn’t seem to completely go away after a wash. Try not to wash the clothes as much as they fade pretty quickly.

Would I recommend this to a friend? I would probably have to say no, it could be great but falls short. There clothes are made in China, from what I gathered.

There seems to be a ton of complaints so maybe they are stepping up their game.

I am also a member of Five Four and like their clothing, when I am able to get it. I got to be honest, the relationship was great when it first started 10 months ago, but now, not so great. They take too long to ship things, I have saw a shipment showing it was shipped and it never was twice.

I hope they get their shipping at together.

After months of reading your reviews for this sub, I finally convinced my husband that this was a necessity. For the last year or so, he’s been seeing my numerous subs come in each month (he loves to watch me open them!) and admitted he was getting jealous.

We both love the quality and variety of items. The coat he received in February has yet to be hung in the closet. It’s his favorite coat ever (his words) and is slung over the back of a chair in the kitchen so he can oogle it as he walks by (my words).

Liz, any idea of how to purchase it (the zip-up)? I didn’t realize the link took you to the Five Four Club site, I thought it took ya to a place to purchase it.

That hoodie looks sooooo nice! I kind of want to purchase it – for myself! – as I don’t have a fella I’d want to give it too lmao! I also like that it has a detachable hood.. looks like it would be great for nights as doesn’t look too thick (I could be wrong though), good thing for a plane or somewhere like that where it may be chilly.
