Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box Subscription Review – March 2015 Box

Eco Emi recently launched a Deluxe Beauty Box in addition to their regular monthly box offering. I had subscribed to the regular Eco Emi box for a while, but ended up canceling since the samples were often very small. As soon as I found out about this deluxe-sized version of their subscription I signed up!

Unfortunately, they recently announced they are ending this subscription - so this will be the last box I review.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included.

Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box Subscription Review – March 2015 Perfume

Always Loved Perfume by My Daughter Fragrances - Travel Size Value $28

Grain Citrus Sugar Body Scrub in Bergamot Orange - FULL SIZE! Value $13

I like both of these scents! The Always Loved Perfume is free of phthalates, and while it isn't an everyday scent for me, it will be great for special occasions.

I love all things natural and citrus, so this scrub is perfect for me - the orange scent is so refreshing!

Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box Subscription Review – March 2015 Shadow

Jillian Wright Skincare Gentle Peptide Cleanser - 29 ml Value $9

Haughty Cosmetics Eye Shadow in Bravery - FULL SIZE! Value $13

I've sampled and liked a few other Jillian Wright Skincare products, so I'm sure I'll like this cleanser. (All the products I've sampled so far have been very gentle and easy on my sensitive skin).

Haughty Cosmetics is a new-to-me makeup brand, and I really like this eye shadow. It's a highly-pigmented pressed shadow, and this bronze/brown color is perfect for me. (Subscribers will receive a variety of colors, so I lucked out!)

I also love what the company stands for:

Our cosmetics are made with love and careful thought in our studio in Alexandria, VA. We formulate each product to be beneficial as well as beautiful, with the highest quality ingredients that improve skin’s condition to make you more beautiful every time you use them.

We also believe that true beauty is more than skin deep. That’s why 50% of our profits from every single product we sell will always go to fight violence against women.

Verdict: I really love this subscription, and I'm so surprised and saddened to see they are shutting it down. I also appreciate the fact that Eco Emi didn't skimp on the last box - the March box has a value of about $63.

What do you think of the last Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box?

Eco Emi is closing its doors. They were still doing the monthly variety boxes after the beauty box sub came to an end. They posted on April 29th that they bid farewell to us. The variety boxes are on sale for $11.00. They are taking requests for products. I ordered 2 to see what happens. They are active on Facebook again discussing how they are shipping out boxes etc. I’m surprised they were able to continue this long without K. She was the one running everything. Maybe they brought her back to close out the company.

I’ll post what I receive if and when the boxes show up. I think they will because they are actively trying to rid themselves of the stock. $22.00 (2 boxes) is a low enough risk for me that I was willing to see if they could fulfill my requests.

I finally received the discounted monthly boxes Eco Emi is selling after placing my order a month ago. I ordered 2, each from a different age group. They were exactly the same except one box was missing a couple items. I had the lid to a candle but not the candle itself. I know from watching unboxings of the cheaper Eco Emi boxes that what I received are crappy leftovers from these boxes. Not one product came from the deluxe box, so disappointed and so not worth even the $13. The samples are stained, dented or broken and clearly crap they’re trying to get rid of. Save your money.

So . . . after sending 2 emails, posting on their FB page and finally leaving a telephone message, I filed a dispute with Paypal about the leaked scrub in the March 2015 box (mine was so dry it’s completely unusable). I wonder if they’ll respond to Paypal?

I hate to see them go out this way, but their total lack of response after shutting down the Beauty subscription is very frustrating. Oh yeah, to add insult to injury, I paid full price for this box because I was a subscriber.

I got no response to emails so I also disputed charge. It is too bad re. lack of customer contact.

I forgot to add that I received tracking numbers for the 3 boxes that I ordered on Thursday. Someone came over to speak to me while I was typing. I hate to see Eco Emi get a bad rep if it isn’t warranted.

They are not responding to emails about damaged products, so if they do get a bad rep, they earned it. I am not alone in the lack of response per fb page. Yes I enjoyed this box, the customer service, not so much.

Eliz

Yeah…10 days out and I have yet to receive a response to a missing product. It’s sad to watch a company fall so hardcore style.

Liz – Do you have further insight with Eco Emi? It seems that Kesley has emailed you about one time purchases in the past. Did they send you an email detailing a reason for delays or changes?

Liz Cadman

No – I’m on their general mailing list but have never had any direct emails. I can reach out though.

Hi! I ordered some of the random boxes over a week ago and have been charged for them but heard nothing from Eco Emi! They also have not responded to my emails! What’s going on? I hesitate to start a paypal dispute but I’m going to soon. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Kelly

There is still no response from customer service and I disputed charge, grrr.

When I go to the site the Random Boxes are showing up as $15. Isn’t it strange that they would raise the price if they’re trying to clear it out/shut it down?

If you click on sale, you will notice the $13 random boxes, I agree with you though it is a bit confusing ( at least to me ) that the other boxes are still selling for $15. I’m wondering though if they are accepting new subscribers and if it would even go through completely. I’ve been tempted to try and subscribe yet because it seems like things are changing a lot, I don’t want to take chance.

I am wondering if the random boxes and the random beauty boxes are being confused with each other. The random boxes are $13.00 and is a variety box based off the variety box sub. The random beauty boxes are $15.00 and are based off the beauty box sub. Of course it is possible that the prices did drop temporarily.

I hope everything is OK over at Eco Emi. This is the first time my tracking number has been delayed, and I ordered a bunch of different one time purchases over the last several months.

I found the cleanser needed to be primed or pumped about 20 times. I’m happy that it was included in the box because I have a Jillian Wright moisturizer that I am finishing up. It’s nice to use them together. I had no problems with anything leaking in my box. I’ve enjoyed my subscription and feel bad that not everyone is having the wonderful last box experience.

Tempted to order another box for $13, yet I wonder if anyone else has not gotten a tracking #. My last box was the march beauty box, and they have always been quick with shipping and tracking #’s in the past …… Now I find myself wondering if I should order the box or wait till people start getting on their boxes, or if that will be to late and it will be sold out.

Eliz

Just a heads up…the random box is now on their website for $13. Seems like a pretty sweet deal.

I was just going to say that about the $13 for the one-off boxes….I bought 2 yesterday. We will see if they send me two different boxes. They even ask for your beauty preferences….I don’t know if they will use them, but I geared it toward two months boxes that I was most drawn to… We will see if I get those boxes.

I had already received one mystery box, which was exactly the same as the one Liz reviewed.

Sadly, the box did come open in the mail…it appears as if the box was too small for one of the products. And, I believe, this caused the eyeshadow to fall out. Or it was not in the box to begin with. Either way, I emailed Eco Emi, but, like others have said, I have yet to hear a response.

While I’d rather have a complete box, the products that remained still seemed worth the cost. I mean, $13 is pretttty inexpensive in the giant scheme of things. Especially since all this jazz can be gifted.

kema

They actually sent me this as my random box. I hate everything.

The cleanser is impossible to pump out. The color of the eyeshadow would look ashy on me. The perfume is actually nice but I don’t love it. I don’t like the body scrub is just not something I use a lot

I’m sad that this is the last box. I like the tissue paper color – very springlike. I’m looking forward to using the scrub, fragrance, and cleanser. I received the same color eye shadow which I gave to my sister. It’s a gorgeous color and will look great on her.

I ordered 3 more random boxes yesterday. My sister wanted 2 and one more for me. I haven’t received a tracking number yet which is highly unusual. Eco Emi has always impressed me with how fast they put their boxes in the mail. I hope everything is OK with them.

The scrub leaked all over and no response to email to customer service. I will try them once more then I will dispute chsrge.

I got a couple of their regular beauty boxes a little over a year ago and most recently got their haircare box. I was always disappointed. This box looks better then any I have ever received from Eco Emi.

I loved Eco Emi and I’m so sad they’re discontinuing the beauty box. I thought it was pretty awesome for the few months I subscribed. I really like this box BUT my scrub leaked all over the inside of the box. I contacted Eco Emi as soon as i received it yesterday but they still haven’t gotten back to me.

Even though this was the last eco emi 🙁 deluxe beauty box this is my favorite. The smell of the perfume is wonderful and the body scrub smells great. Looking forward to trying the cleanser. I hope Eco Emi decides to launch a Full Size variety box.

I subscribed to Eco Emi way back when they first launched and took a break because I was accumulating too many samples, but I’m impressed at how consistently great their boxes are!

I thought I had canceled this box, but I got it just yesterday. I’m glad I did, I’ve been wanting a body scrub, but never manage to get one. I love the scrub and the eyeshadow is a gorgeous color. Can’t wait to use the cleanser, I’m still using the one from Vegan Cuts last month. The perfume wasn’t for me, I’m not a fan of rose scents at all. But other than that loved this box, sad it’s ending.
