Collectible Geek Collector’s Cache Review – February 2015 Box

Collectible Geek is a relatively new subscription based around Funko Pop Vinyls – my husband’s favorite thing to get in any geeky subscription box!

This box I’m reviewing is the February Collector’s Cache which is Fantasy themed. (They let you know the theme ahead of time).

Collectible Geek sent us this box for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Collectible Geek Collector’s Cache Review – February 2015 Items

The Box: Collectible Geek Collector’s Cache

The Cost: $33.50, includes shipping. (FYI - we purchased a 6-month subscription, and with shipping and tax the total came to $201.35, or $33.55 a box).

The Products: “Each Collector’s Cache comes with five meticulously chosen items from the staff at collectibleGEEK, featuring a different theme each month.”

Ships to: US and International (additional shipping costs)

Good to Know About Subscriptions: “This is a 6 month subscription to our Themed Collector’s Cache.  Our subscription works a little different than most do though.  If for any reason you don’t want to receive a month’s theme all you have to do is send an email to [email protected] by the 5th of the month; with your name in it, type SKIP THIS MONTH in the subject line and we will just skip that month for you.”

Collectible Geek Collector’s Cache Review – February 2015 POP

Tauriel POP Funko Vinyl - Value $10

This POP is really well made and (this will sound weird) it has one of the heaviest heads of any POP Vinyl - fortunately it's not a top-heavy fall over situation.

Collectible Geek Collector’s Cache Review – February 2015 Patches

Slytherin and Gryffindor Patches - Value $10 total?

I couldn't find these exact same sized patches online, so I'm estimating the value. I love all things Harry Potter, so these are great, and we can't wait for the Harry Potter Funko POPS to be released!

Collectible Geek Collector’s Cache Review – February 2015 HPOT

Time Turner Necklace - Value $14

Another Harry Potter item! There is actually a lot of themed jewelry this month:

Collectible Geek Collector’s Cache Review – February 2015 Ring

Lord of the Rings Ring Pendant - Value $9

This ring comes on a removable chain:

Collectible Geek Collector’s Cache Review – February 2015 Necklace

Collectible Geek Collector’s Cache Review – February 2015 Dragon

Game of Thrones Mystery Minis Vinyl Figure - Value $8

My husband collects these, but he already has this dragon, so it will be swapped!

Collectible Geek Collector’s Cache Review – February 2015 GOT

Game of Thrones Necklace - Value $11

While I think jewelry pieces are a unique inclusion in a geeky box, I was surprised to find three necklaces in one box!

Collectible Geek Collector’s Cache Review – February 2015 Poster

This box also came with an exclusive themed poster. (11" by 17") - Value ?

Collectible Geek Collector’s Cache Review – February 2015 Dungeons

KRE-O Dungeons & Dragons Army Builder Pack - Value $5

(I'm lowering the value of this from the list price on Amazon since many of the Amazon reviews said you could get these cheaper in stores).

Verdict: This box has an estimated value of about $67. I didn't include a price for the poster, and the jewelry prices may be a little inflated (I feel like you can always find jewelry cheaper online somewhere, so keep that in mind with the valuation).

I think they did a great job at the theme this month! The three necklaces this month seems like a lot, but besides that I think this box has a good mix of items.

What do you think of the February Collectible Geek Collector's Cache box?

I always seem to miss the boxes with GOT stuff. I love this box. I don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but these necklaces are also cool collectors pieces, and I think the poster is really creative and cool. I am waiting for another theme I am interested in to pop up so I can try these guys out. I like that they have the option of getting an “I want it all” cache which includes more items, this one, or a Funko pop only box.

I got excited thinking it was the march box which I ordered back in the beginning of Feb – the 80s. I also ordered the I Want It All box box on March first for the April theme Avengers. They sold out the I Want It All Box Avenger theme in 2 days. That’s the super deluxe box. The regular box that comes with the sub is still available as a single purchase.

I did not know that with a subscription that you could skip months. I may buy a 3 month sub and parcel it out to my son when a theme interest him. He loved the Dead Pool cache a few months ago.

I thought about buying Feb’s box and wish I did. It would have provided great little gifts for my son’s friends.

I love all three of the jewelry pieces and if the whole box would had been fill with all geeky jewelry I would had jump for joy, but I can imagine being a guy and not liking that idea.

I agree that 3 pieces of jewelry in a geek subscription box is a bit much. I don’t really wear too much jewelry that reflects my inner geek. And my son wouldn’t wear any of it.However I like getting Pop Funko in boxes and I think the poster is kind of cool!

Can you still purchase this particular box? I love these items!

You typically need to purchase Collectible Geeks caches a month or two ahead of time. After the quality of this box, I signed up for a subscription.

Unfortunately I believe this box and the March boxes have sold out, but the April box is currently available. (If you subscribe the April box would be your first box).
