Nerd Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Box

Nerd Block is a monthly subscription box for geeks and gamers. This box typically includes at least a figurine or two, and always a new exclusive shirt. Nerd Block recently introduced Arcade Block, so this box is now known as Nerd Block Classic.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Info

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included.

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Tee

Sonic Screwdriver Tee - Value $10

I think this shirt may have been made exclusively for subscribers - I can't find the exact one online.

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Star Wars

Premier Cell Star Wars Episode V Film Cell - Value $8

Here is a close up of the film cell:

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Ears

Elf Ears - Value $4?

Scatter Brainz - Value $4

These elf ears are a Nerd Block exclusive, so I'm guessing on the value. The Scatter Brainz is a sticky dart game - I think we'll end up gifting or swapping it.

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Hobbit

Hobbit Bookmark and Pen - Value $9

I think this was my husband's favorite item in the box. And the picture doesn't capture it, but this bookmark is an impressive 3D one! I think he's going to try to swap for the other variations.

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Cat

Grumpy Cat Gund Plush - Value $8

This is the cutest Grumpy Cat plush I've ever seen!

(The dartboard pictured goes with the Scatter Brainz).

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Star Trek

Planet of the Apes Star Trek Comic - Value $4.99

My husband has gotten into comic books recently, so he may end up reading this one. (Otherwise it will end up on swaps).

Verdict: This box has a value of about $48. I think that value is pretty good for the $30 cost shipped to the US. Even though every item wasn't for us this month, they did a good job with the theme and the curation.

What do you think of the January 2015 Nerd Block box?

I got this box. I made the mistake of looking for grumpy cat plush toys online after I saw the spoiler. So I was really anticipating something that looked more cat like. Even though the shirt seems like nice quality, it is something I would never wear. The other items are cute, and I like this box more then some of the other geek boxes I subscribe to, yet not as much to pay $10 more for. I wish this box was with shipping was $5 cheaper.

This box was a hit for our family. We’re not big on super heroes, so the other geeky boxes haven’t worked for us, but there were five items in this box that really fit us and made it worthwhile. My son actually loved that really odd dart set even (12 years old), and as a Dr. Who fan, I smiled to see that t-shirt.
