Just out of curiosity, what is the other box you are getting the book in?

I’m not interested in the box, but that book sounds great – it’s only $3.99 for Kindle right now!

Oh, forgot to mention, fair warning on Ready Player One and music. If you have fond memories of ’80s music, just like music from all eras, or are vulnerable to curiosity about music mentioned in text material, RPO can be an expensive book. I owned a lot of the music mentioned in the book, but I still ended up spending a lot over time trying to assemble the perfect soundtrack of the book. I don’t even want to know how much the actual total is for me giving in to buying covers, remixes and other variant versions of songs I already own as I looked for all of the original versions of songs from the book.

I graduated high school in 1990, so the pop culture element of Ready Player One was right up my alley and then some. Being blind, I got the audio book and the Kindle version. I have only read the Kindle version once, Wil Wheaton is the narrator of the audible book and he absolutely inhabits the first person narrative. I have listened to the book over a dozen times now. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the upcoming film is done right and is cast well.

Getting another copy of the book isn’t a big incentive for me, I already bought a paperbook version and have been loaning it out to anyone I can force it on. I am interested in the personal thoughts included with the book coming in the box, but I am more interested in the rest of the contents. I am hoping she will include some of her favorite gear, something like her favorite bluetooth headset and such. I keep wish washing on keeping my subscription up or cancelling it to help me get a founder membership to the new Marvel/Funko subscription box. Decisions, decisions…

Thinking of Ready Player One the Audiobook reminds me of something concerning me. Wil Wheaton’s first box had been, for I think a week or more, the first box on the list in the curators section if one sorted by shipping times, that is until just the day before yesterday. At least that is when I discovered it. After that, it moved back to sixth or seventh. I am fearing that it might have been moved back. I am really hoping it still makes February.

I know there is still a week left in the month, but having it slip on the list and having watched many boxes moved back repeatedly by Quarterly, I am really concerned.

I don’t know who she is…but I was never up on pop culture to begin with and since I had to cancel my cable, I know even less now than I ever did before.

I’ve been thinking about getting this box, but $50 is a lot for a box…the book looks good but I hope they have another spoiler too, I just can’t decide…
