Thanks Jessica for giving us the heads up on this issue. Subscribers who received an Emite Eye Lash curler in their February Ipsy bag should have received this email from ipsy:
Make sure to check your eyelash curler if you received one, and email [email protected] so they can replace it/resolve the issue.

I received this curler as well. I checked mine after seeing the email warning and it looked just fine. When I went to use the curler it cut my lashes off!

I emailed ipsy today about the curler just asking a general question about the safety of use and they sent me a response email 8 minutes later! Basically they apologized and are sending me a replacement item in my next glam bag. The customer service is really great!
This is my first experience having to contact them after nearly a year of subscribing. some bags are better than others for me but the monetary value is always there and I always get stuff I haven’t tried before so it’s really fun! I think Ipsy is definitely worth it.

Oh wow! Yes, this also happened to me with the one we got from Glossybox. It almost poked my eye out, because the metal piece popped off as I was squeezing it onto my lashes. It tore out quite a few lashes, but I was just glad it wasn’t more serious. It broke after just one or two uses. Please be very cautious with this curler!

This actually happened to me when I received this through Glossybox two years ago! Chopped my lashes in half and they didn’t grow out at all so I had to invest in a lash grown serum. ):

They emailed subscribers who received it which I appreciate. Mine worked fine thigh so I guess I got lucky. I’ve only ever had one item that had to be replaced in the last 18 months (the lipgloss) and it was handled quickly with minimal fuss so I’m still a happy ipsy subscriber.

Mine broke after one use and took a bunch of lashes with it. 🙁 I emailed their customer service not sure what they will do.

It was the stinky lip gloss and stinky mascara from last year (and several stinky bags) that convinced me to quit Ipsy. I’m not really regretting it.

I received the stinky lip gloss, the stinky mascara and the curler…
Ipsycare sent me replacements for all of them without me even asking! Part of what I love about the sub is the quality of the customer service. In all three situations I didn’t even ask for replacement products, I just sent inquiries about the safety of the products. My curler is fine, but I messaged about the safety before the warning was issued asking what Ipsy’s official stance was on continued use. They responded by sending me a new face brush!
I’ve been a subscriber for fifteen months now. No regrets here either. 🙂

LOL! That stinky lipgloss actually mellowed out and is one of my favorites now. But good grief! it was nasty at first!
