I just received this email since I am a Blush Mystery Beauty Box subscriber - the subscription will now be called BeautyFix by DermStore. I'm not sure what we can expect from "wider brand selection," but I hope it is a good thing.
What do you think of whatever these changes might be?

I have been a subscriber to the Blush Mystery Box for 9 months and I just received the revamped March BeautyFix box in the mail today. I have to say I am really impressed. There are 4 full size samples and 3 little ones but the total value is $180. I think it is an outstanding value for $25. If Dermstore keeps it up then this will definitely become my favorite sub box out of the 5 boxes I receive.

hmm, going to have to go look at what is in this box. Anyone else get the new box?

I have full spoilers for this. If you Google beautyfix March 2015 a link in the dermstore site pops up with the products we’re getting. A direct link won’t work so I won’t post it. I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with dermstore confirming the products and trying to get my money back. Basically, no new brands as advertised. The thing that really upsets me is that we are getting another julien Farel shampoo and tiny skin medica sample. They’re claiming that the shampoo doesn’t count as a repeat because there are different kinds but I have only been a subscriber for 8 months and this will be my 3rd JF product. I’m so done, there is no curation at all. I think this might be their first and last box. I don’t think anyone who has been a subscriber will be happy with this.

Has anyone been able to find the video for this month?

This might be a really good thing. The dermstore is big on the Internet. I would think this would bring a wider selection for subscription box members. Here is my thinking: Subscription boxes almost NEED to be backed by a larger brand or company. I am specifically thinking of how some boxes sort of peter out after a few good months…
I love BeautyDNA and have never been disappointed by the high quality, name brand products they send. BeautyDNA is owned by a larger company, Sandow. Another favorite box of mine is New Beauty Test Tube, also owned by Sandow – Sandow also owns Fred Siegel. These larger companies can offer niche boxes and put out amazing products and secure satisfied customers. Their focus is on products, customer satisfaction, etc. I think even if I have to pay more for a subscription box, if I am satisfied that the box will bring me name brand items (think Allure’s Sample Society) that are almost always fairly new to the beauty market, I will stay a loyal customer.

Blush is the Dermstore. 🙂

Guess this box was going under & have decided to change the whole thing. If its like the previous beauty fix, will cancel. The products you got to choose from were B label & small/trial sizes. Don’t think this is necessarily good news about the box. They’re having problems & revamping because of it.

If they would include some way to customize the box (skin type/hair type etc.) I would be all over this. I got one month of the Mystery Beauty Box and, while the products weren’t all good matches for me, I was happy with the overall experience (shipping, customer service, value [objectively speaking].)

From day one they have always sent out poor matches for me. I have always gotten products for oily skin (lotions and washes), extremely dark lipsticks, and foudations for darker complexions. When they sent out 1 of 2 different products, I always got the opposite of what I wanted. LOL…
When they had customizable boxes you had to be fast or you didn’t even get your moneys worth.

I totally saw something like this coming! Blush was doing so poorly these past few months. I am excited though because I may actually be interested in this new revamped box!

I was worried that they would close the box down. All excitement was lost for this sub as their boxes got worse and worse. Me? I got addicted to the hair products and I used to never care for that stuff. My hair has always liked good no matter if I used 99 cent shampoo or the expensive stuff. But at least now I look forward to my shower where I pick and choose every time. I feel so pampered! I love subbing to beauty boxes.

Weird. . I didn’t get this email and I’ve been a long time subscriber. Maybe they’re sending the email out in ‘waves’ or something. Anyway, I was just about to cancel this sub because the last three months have been sub pay. I’m going to hold on for another month and see what we get. The box design is cute! Also, this sub used to be called Beautyfix (if memory serves) by Dermstore.

Not certain what they did with Beautyfix right before Blush. But in the old old days, Beautyfix had its own website. We used to always get $25 credits also for their store, but it wasn’t called the Dermsiore.
It used to cost $50 every 3 months. And we did get some B products, but we also got full sized grade A products also. We got full sized Canyon Ranch, Strivectin, Bliss etc… I used canyon Ranch for many years, and I loved it!

I wish their new update included delivery to Canada. I think Canadians get the raw end of this beauty box craze;( Every box or bag has an added 8-10 shipping charge plus exchange rate. I would happily pay if the items were worth it. I just cancelled ipsy at 21.95 a month..way too expensive.

Im excited to hear this! I’m hoping it means bigger and better things. The last several (like ten!) months have not been thrilling. I’m definitely keeping my eye on this!

I’m nervous!! I just started Blush last month and was really excited about the value – after receiving all the tiniest little disappointing samples from companies like Birchbox, Ipsy, Sample Society and BB5 (which I thankfully cancelled long ago), I was really excited at the idea of having such a nice array of deluxe and full sized products. Hopefully it is not too different and only improves upon their existing model!!

Yeah, I hate tiny samples also and quit all the subs with them. So I am with you there, I hope they keep up the decent sized products.
Have you tried Glossybox? If they give up the recent variation bull, this would be the best box out there. Right now, if you can tolerate the anguish of possibly getting a booby prize box while others get something much better than go for it. Otherwise I would wait to see if they drop that horrible new idea.

I like the dermstore. May have to give this box a try.

I used to subscribe to Beautyfix and was sad when they stopped the service. The old model was a bi-monthly sub and I could select my own high end products from a pageful of goodies.
If they adopt that version again I’ll be one of the first to sign up!

Oh boy, now they’ll have even more brands of dry shampoo to send!

LOL…. But I have gotten my daughter addicted to that stuff. She has greasy hair and can’t make it through the day without greasy bangs. She got that from me… I am 51 and still have that issue although not anywhere near as bad as when I was young.

I wonder what the changes will entail? I canceled this month after 2 really disappointing months. This month the bag wasn’t even worth $100. I can’t wait to see their first box after this revamp, to see if it got better.

I’m hoping the wider selection of brands is a good thing. They repeated some brands and a few products in the past. Fingers crossed!

I’m excited to see the changes. I don’t get this one right now but I have in the past and I liked it (though thought some of the repeats were weird, including that same cleanser two months in a row). I’m on a no-buy for cosmetics/skincare at the moment, but was thinking of resubscribing when that’s over. I’ll be watching for your reviews!
