Skandicrush Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Blanket

This blanket measures 100X200 centimeters, and it is just gorgeous and so well made!

Skandicrush Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Pattern

It's made from 100% cotton and the fabric is lightweight enough for all seasons. Given the measurements of the blanket, I think it will work great as decorative throw at the foot of our bed.

Verdict: I am in love with this throw blanket, so I'm a fan of the January box! I think in general Skandicrush is about quality over quantity, and that is great for me.

What did you think of the January Skandicrush box?

I received my February box today. No tracking email again (never have received tracking without asking for it).

It was a 2 item box…cute, but I was disappointed in the quantity.

I want to love this subscription, but they’ve been sending boxes out later and later. It’s the 12th already and I haven’t gotten a shipping notice for this month, but they’re going to bill me for next month in three days. I was pretty disappointed that the throw was the only item — I like it fine as a decorative item, but it’s not very warm or soft, and I wouldn’t have paid $50 for it if I had known it would be the only item in the box. I think they’re having a harder time managing the box now that it’s getting more popular, but $50 is a lot of money to ride out growing pains each month.

Hi. I received this blanket from Scandicrush for the month of January and it is not my style. If anyone is interested in purchasing it off of me, please send me an offer. It is still new and in the box. Please email me at lairbrett[at]gmail.com

This blanket is beautiful.

Liz, I just saw a new subscription box dedicated to home decor. It is called Subscript Decor Home Decor subscription boxes. Have you heard of this box yet? On their website, they show the contents of the first two boxes. The boxes look very interesting.

I really, really hope they don’t do future boxes with a single item. I signed up before the price went up, but won’t get my first box until February. I was so upset about that since all the past months’ reviews had me SO jealous! I would have been beyond disappointed if I had just paid $50 for a “decorative” blanket like this, in a pattern and color scheme I hate. If there were another item, it would make the chance of disgruntled customers much lower!

I’m a bit nervous now about my first box. :-/

I think thats a gorgeous blanket, and I think $50 is a reasonable amount for a good box. Having said that, I think I’d be a bit disappointed in the box having only one item. I know the value is good, but I’d never spend $50+ on a decorative blanket, so this would be a waste for me. Spending $50 and get a couple smaller items feels like a better value because even if I don’t love everything, I could at least gift the other items.

I am a huge fan of Skandicrush and it has become one of my favorite subscriptions. This blanket is well made and I appreciate the information provided in each box about the items. Last month I opened the box and wasn’t sure about the items and now they are my favorites and I need to order more of the wall pockets. Look forward to see what the rest of 2015 brings.

Gorgeous Blanket! I’m glad that there is a little bit of color in it. My only issue with this box would be if someone would not like the 1 item in this box. They would not like the entire box. $55 seems to high for 1 blanket especially if you could not pick out the color. This is one box on my wish list. Just reading the reviews, hoping the box will stay interesting and the quality of the items will remain good.

— I just looked on their site – The subscription went up to $55 —

I got this blanket today and I HATE it I don’t like the color orange at all. It is a thin cotton, for decoration only. I’m giving Skandicrush a few more boxes before I cancel. I signed up in December because I loved October and November’s boxes so much, but I have been underwhelmed by December and January.

I’m sorry you’re not liking the blanket. I actually really like it. Would you be interested in trading it for something that I have? I have a ton of items available. If you’d like to email me, maybe we could work out a trade? Thanks!

LizH

I was kind of meh on December’s box until I actually put the little plastic pockets to work. That inspired me to reorganize my desk area and it’s soooo much better now in terms of both looks and efficiency. Love, love it! And I found great practical uses for the other items in that box too so I was quite happy with it in the end. I didn’t get October and November’s box but I won the pepper and salt grinders in a giveway and have them front and center on my kitchen table; absolutely love them too. BUT I’m not a fan of the throw at all. I wouldn’t say I hate it, but I don’t care for the design, color, or the way it feels. (Full admission: the fact that I’ve literally received five blankets/throws as gifts in the last year and a half is definitely influencing my dislike of this as well.) Anyway, I’ll leave it in the box and assume that by next Christmas or so, I can figure out a fitting recipient to regift it to. Even with this miss for me, though, I’m definitely sticking with my subscription. Of all the things they’ve had in their boxes so far, this is the only one I haven’t liked.

Claudia

That’s exactly what I was thinking, Lily.
