My Geek Box Subscription Review – December 2014 Box

My Geek Box is a monthly geek and gamer box that ships from the UK. (Lately we’ve been on a bit of a quest to subscribe to all the geeky boxes that exist, and this is one of the few from the UK that ships to the US!)

Shipping takes a while – so that explains why this review is of the November box! (I'm also admittedly behind on reviews right now).

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

My Geek Box Subscription Review – December 2014 Simon

Each box comes with a Mini Magazine - this month the included a free mini poster on the last page:

My Geek Box Subscription Review – December 2014 Mini Mag

I would prefer it if they included a page for the items included in the box - hopefully that comes soon.

My Geek Box Subscription Review – December 2014 Baker Streer

Doctor Who Talking Mini Plush -  Value $11.30

Baker Street Sign - Value $6?

This little plush has two different sayings, and is going straight to my Doctor Who-fan cousin! We'll be keeping this Baker Street sign for ourselves though - we're big Sherlock and Benedict Cumberbatch fans. (I feel like that's the equivalent of saying we like pizza - who doesn't love Benedict Cumberbatch?)

My Geek Box Subscription Review – December 2014 Shot Glasses

Thunderbirds 5 4 3 2 1 Shot Glasses - Value $15

Unfortunately one of these shot glasses arrived broken, which makes a numbered set a little less valuable. Everything was packaged fine - I think it just is pretty difficult to ship a product like this overseas.

My Geek Box Subscription Review – December 2014 2000

2000 AD Comic - Value $4

Beano Dennis the Menace and Gnasher Weirds Tangy Candy - Value $1

These "Weirds" are basically Nerds - and they provided a nice little childhood flashback!

My Geek Box Subscription Review – December 2014 Tee

Starbug 1 Schematical Report Tee - Value $10?

I did a little googling to find that this tee is a nod to the science fiction sitcom Red Dwarf. We'll probably end up swapping it so it can end up with someone who loves the show!

Verdict: Geek boxes can be hit or miss depending on what items they include from your favorite shows, comics, movies, etc. so that's a gamble we've accepted with all these subscriptions. This month it was more of a miss for us, but I do love the Baker Street sign! I think we'll give this subscription another month, and if it isn't more of a hit we may cancel the subscription for now.

What do you think of the November My Geek Box?

I like Benedict Cumberbatch when he does the voice of the dragon in the Hobbit films. LOL

Finally! A Red Dwarf tee! Too bad it will never fit my husband, he is a mega Red Dwarf fan… Such a great show tho, that doesn’t get the credit it deserves!

It’s been interesting in reading all the geek/gamer boxes. My older son is in a training program to become a TKD instructor so I haven’t order as many boxes for him. It’s nice being able to read the reviews.

I got the TARDIS talking plush, but my daughter snatched it for herself! The sign went to my husband, who had been designing his office in Sherlock style. But I mean *real* (i.e., original, literary) Sherlock, not Benedict Cumberbatch. The glasses arrived in perfect shape for me! I do know Red Dwarf and love the design of the shirt, but I don’t like wearing tees, so I put mine up for swap.

I just had to throw this out there, I don’t love Benedict Cumberbatch, but he has great range.

🙂 I just saw The Imitation Game and it was one of my favorite movies of the year so far. I recommend it for even non-Cumberbatch fans 🙂
