Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box Subscription Review – Jan 2015 Box

Eco Emi recently launched a Deluxe Beauty Box in addition to their regular monthly box offering. I had subscribed to the regular Eco Emi box for a while, but ended up canceling since the samples were often very small. As soon as I found out about this deluxe-sized version of their subscription I signed up!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box Subscription Review – Jan 2015 Info

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included with their retail values.

Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box Subscription Review – Jan 2015 Bluum

Blum Naturals Daily Cleansing & Makeup Remover Towelettes - Value $7

Dew Puff in Asian Clay - Value $7

I always need more makeup remover towelettes, so I was happy to get more from the Blum brand! This Dew Puff wasn't listed on the card, so I'm not sure if every subscriber will be getting it, or if there will be variation. I've used these before and liked them, so I'm saving this one for the next time I travel without my clarisonic!

Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box Subscription Review – Jan 2015 Lip

Devine Lip Shine - Value $8

Gourmet Body Treats Foundation Primer -  Value $12?

I've sampled Devine Lip Shimmers before thanks to subscription boxes, and I love them, so I had a feeling I would like this lip shine as well. It provides a good amount of shine and I actually don't have many clear lip glosses, so it fills a gap!

I'm a little confused my this Gourmet Body Treats Foundation Primer though. Based on the card it looks like I should have received a cream concealer instead. And I can't find this foundation primer on Gourmet Body Treat's site either. The first ingredient in the primer is shea butter, so it goes on a little too oily for my taste.

Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box Subscription Review – Jan 2015 Thatzit

ThatZit! All Natural Acne Treatment - Value $14

This is one of those items I hope I won't need to use, but it's nice to have on hand just in case.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $48. I'll end up using everything except the foundation primer, so I'm happy with the value. (I'm wondering if I received the Dew Puff because I didn't receive the cream concealer?) Overall, this isn't my favorite box from the subscription, but it still is useful.

What do you think of the January Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box?

I had zero zits until I got this box and now two popped up. I tried ThatZit cream just now, it’s white, comes out white hasn’t dried clear yet. It’s drying a little clearer now, but definitely white when you first put it on. And when I opened the bottle even though it was sealed it was still all wet, it had leaked from the top.

Lily – I really like VMV Hypoallergenics for skincare, they specialize in creating products that avoid all irritants, etc. I just started using a moisturizer from them and I love it (they also sell deluxe samples too)

Thank you – I’m constantly ingredient reading. The VMV Hypoallergenics are products I can actually use – I signed up for their email list.

I love Gourmet Body Treat products. The woman who owns the company has been in business for over 20 years. She started a subscription box back in the summer in addition to the farmer markets and online store. I received every box except for the first one. What I found is that when she is sold out she takes the product off the website. She puts it back on when she makes more product. You can email her for more information and also ask when something will be back in stock. I’ve done both before and received great responses. She makes my favorite cleanser, mask, and moisturizer.

I like this box because of the variety of products. The towelettes are being used. The lip shine is nice. My older son grabbed the ThatZit! I haven’t tried the primer yet because I have one that is specially designed for rosacea. I will try it once I am finished with the other primer.

I like to think the dew sponge is a thank you for current subscribers. I’m purely speculating on this and could be totally wrong. There was a special for new subscribers where they could pick a gift. I plan to use it when traveling for a business conference in a couple of weeks.

I also purchased the deluxe beauty bonus box which arrived. It is 14 full size products for $110.00. Value is over $240.00. I’ll add another comment posting what I received in case someone is interested.

Here is what I received in the Deluxe Beauty Bonus Box cost $110.00. There was a spot where you could write product preferences. I wrote that I wanted skincare, nailcare, haircare and nailpolishes could be fun colors. I also indicated that I did not want blush or eye products. I’m excited because I can use every item in the box. Some are repeats which I am happy to see. I don’t know if there would have been repeats from the sub boxes if my requests were less restrictive.

1. Deep Steep Tangerine Melon Body Wash – I am excited to see this because I am almost done with the brown sugar and vanilla body wash from the November box. It takes me awhile to go through body wash because I also receive a soap sub.

2. Deep Steep Brown Sugar and Vanilla Hand Cream. Smells good. I have it at my desk.

3. Blum Naturals Organic Tea Tree Oil Towlettes. This is useful for work especially if my face feels dirty. Tea Tree Oil is good for rosacea so I am happy to see this product again.

4. Dew Puff Original – I’m thinking of trying this with the body wash.

5. Seaweed Bath Co Whole Seaweed Detox Bath – I am pleased to be able to use this again.

6. Shea Radiance Moisture Rich Hair Butter – I am very happy to see this again. I have thick, wavy, long hair and this works great with it. I don’t receive many products that work with my hair type in sub boxes.

7. ThatZit! – My older son may use it. He took the one from the Jan box for just in case. He gets one once in awhile. w He found a couple wonderful cleansers which works great on his skin thanks to BB. I’m in my 40s and heard of hormonal acne stories so this must be a just in case.

8. Trinite Aloe Shea Souffle Body Butter – I’m happy to have another one. I use the one from the November box on my surgical scars. I’m saving this for the spring/summer when I am outside a lot.

9. Gourmet Body Treats foundation – There was a spot to put down skin tone. It looks like it should work.

Inside a plastic snowflake bag:

10. Balanced Guru Intuition Energy Spray. I love this stuff and have bought it both from Eco Emi as part of the customized 4 for 10 box and from Balanced Guru. Eco Emi is more cost effective.

11. Gourmet Body Treats Foundation Primer – Love GBT products so this will probably work.

12. Medusa Lipstick in Undead which is a purple color. Love it. I don’t have many fun colors so am happy with this. I have lots of pinks, reds, and nudes lip glosses, lip balms, lipsticks etc.

13. Authority Cosmetics 5 free nail laquer in Emerald Sky. Pretty green metallic color. Very happy with the color.

14. Authority Cosmetics 5 free nail laquer in Khloe. Looks like a nice solid purple. Very happy with the color. I love color nail polishes and have way too many red/pink colors from sub boxes.

I’m very happy with my box and will use everything 🙂

Good to know about the primer. It is a very interesting product. Kinda fun. Looks like real primer in a small container. Curious what primer do you use for rosacea? – Always looking for new primers. Yet most I can not use.

Lily – I use Clinque Redness Solutions daily protective base broad spectrum SPF 15. The back describes it as being formulated for rosacea or reactive redness, oil-free, 100% fragnance free, no chemical sunscreen. It has a sheer green tint that counters the redness which of course you don’t see once you rub it in or put on your foundation. I think I go through a full size bottle maybe every six months.

You can check to see if there is a sample available at the Clinque counter to see if it works. I bought it the same time I bought the foundation in the same line so I am unsure about whether there is a sample available.

I loved my box this month. I will use everything that’s included. I particularly like the facial wipes as I use these a lot on days that I workout, esp. in the morning! I also love the Dew Puff, it has a very interesting feel/texture and so far it feels great on my face! Feels like it’s doing a way better job than just using my hands/fingers. I think I might have to buy this product again in the near future! Can’t wait for my next box and thanks for sharing!

I also got the same dew puff, I like it. The foundation primer I could not seem to find online. I did try it, yet have not used it yet. I like the container it comes in and will use it for other things. The Blum Naturals Daily Cleansing & Makeup Remover Towelettes have amazingly natural ingredients for wipes. My new favorite brand. I’m bla about the rest. I wish that eco emi would be more skin tone specific. Or just have an oily or acne prone skin box. If I had acne I would not want items for dry skin. Having dry skin I don’t want acne related products which would dry my skin out further. – This box has wonderful potential and I can see it getting better and better.

I signed up for Eco Emi beauty box in December and they emailed to say that December’s was sold out so I’d be getting January’s. I got it a week or so ago and like it, but it’s not really amazing. I like the towelettes and I got the dew puff too which sounds interesting. I also got the foundation primer which is super oily and don’t even want to use. Wasn’t really excited about the acne treatment either, knock on wood, I don’t get many breakouts. I loved the Devine lip shine though, I thought it was really nice. I’ll keep this sub for another month and see if I really like February’s box.

Totally need a non-drying primer so If you want to put it on the swaps I’m sure many of us would jump for it! Super dry face people like me
