Thank goodness for these discussions and posts. This was a box I’d thought about signing up for because my family enjoys Love with Food and Bestowed. I am so thankful now that I read these comments first. I will definitely be skipping this subscription!

I researched a picture of what was in the box:
http://instagram.com/p/zF1q38AiVc/

Bracelet: $14.99 http://31bits.com/shop/bracelets.html
Taunt fragrance: $19.50 http://www.amazon.com/Perfume-Taunt-Roll-on/dp/B00C2TT0B2
Chocolate: $8.00 https://www.atthemeadow.com/artisan-chocolate/dark-chocolate/pitch-dark-madagascar-fruity-spicy-dark-chocolate.html

I can’t read the brand of lip balm but, I’m sure it’s not more than $10.

They said the box was worth over $80. That’s a very expensive candle.
I’m sorry I ordered this and won’t make the same mistake twice.

Haven’t received my box yet.

There is nothing valentines about this box, gross sample of syrup perfume not unlike BBW, broken bitter chocolate bar, a candle that smells like cooking ingredients, a painful bracelet that is too tight with a cracked paint design that makes it look OLD. lip balm and NOTHING ABOUT THIS IS VALENTINES!! Hello false advertising?!

i have written to conscious box many ways, i want my money back!! but they are not replying to me so far, what do I need to do to get a response?!

they lied to me, there is nothing about this that is valentines…girls, get a back-up gift if this is all you got for your sweetie

I know you have gotten a ton of feedback saying the same thing but I can’t stress it enough. Many of these companies will send you free samples directly without paying someone to throw them in a box so you can try them without paying $20. Most sub boxes you pay for value. It’s a win win customers get a deal and companies hope to get new customers. You pay $20 and get $40 of stuff. Not with this box. These are samples. They are meant to be free. The companies make them to be free. This is hands down the single worst box out there and I’ve tried about 30. Do some research and try another box for $20. Please don’t waste your money on this.

I have to agree with everyone else here 🙁 This was the worst sub box ive ever gotten. When I received my first box, I was so disappointed. I got all free samples and 1 full size drink that I could have bought for about $4 at any store. All for $20…not to mention that 2 of those free samples were supplements for dogs which I didn’t even have at the time. I stupidly did not cancel on time, and was sent another box…all but 2 of the samples were exactly the same and my full size product was a $3 bottle of Mac and Cheese! I contacted them, and after 2 weeks and having to send them 3 emails, I finally heard back that they had bad storms and so they hadn’t been able to respond? They did send me another box to make up for the box they sent that was basically a duplicate, and in this 3rd box…the same free samples! There again were only 2 that were different from the 1st 2 boxes and my full size product was a bag of tortilla chips the size you get in subway.

I cannot imagine buying a box from them at a whopping $50!!! It was pretty clear to me from the 3 boxes I got from them that they don’t have much respect for your hard earned money. I would be very very cautious. When I saw this post the first thing I thought was “I cannot believe this box is still in business!”

BUYER BEWARE!!!

Conscious Box

Hi everybody, Conscious Box here – we’d like to acknowledge some of the comments we see here.

Yep, our main subscription box does contain some trial-sized products. We’re here to make it easy for you to try lots of natural products, then only buy what you actually like. If you have time to walk the grocery store for samples, then please go support those stores! However, if you’d like someone to do the research for you, we’re here to save you time. Think of us like a personal shopper. We spend…a LOT…of time researching ingredients and sourcing brands with positive missions.

Our Valentine’s Box, however, is a whole different beast! This is a curated selection of premium, full-size products, and you won’t be able to beat these prices anywhere. We see some people looking for a teaser. No problem – one product you’ll definitely see is the Perfect Massage Candle from our neighbor Amy Vance: http://www.vancefamilysoycandles.com/blog/2011/12/29/Massage-Candles-are-back.aspx

The Conscious Box team is made of 11 young people, and we work really hard to make it easier for you to buy healthy products that are good for the planet. We grew WAY faster than anticipated over the last 2 years – which is awesome, thank you!! <3 – and are overcoming growing pains, like scaling up our customer support and response times.

We've learned a ton, are proud of our offering today, and we're happy to prove it. We'll send a free January Box to anybody who emails [email protected] with subject "My Subscription Addiction" before Friday. Thanks to everyone who tried us out, it's this type of feedback that helps us continue to improve the service we provide all of you.

Cheers,
Conscious Box Team

I very much appreciated the free box offer, and enjoyed the box very much. Large bag of saffron road roasted chickpeas, plus many, many samples (admittedly marked as free samples.) But for someone to gather all those items for me, pack them, and ship them to me directly so I can try everything without the effort…that’s where the value of this box is for me. Anyways, thank you Conscious Box for the free tryout! I enjoyed it.

I’m always surprised when I see that Conscious Box is still in business. They’re boxes are terrible in both curation and value.

I tired them out for an annual sub, ended mid-last year. I’ve had better samples for free walking through the local health food store or costco. Unfortunate others had the same lame experience.

The fact that Conscious Box has gotten so bad is unfortunate because it used to be one of my favorite subscriptions. Their boxes used to be absolutely packed with great products. I tried to stick with them for a while after they started going downhill, but things just got steadily worse.

Darn it! I wish that I would have seen this earlier! I just bought a 3 month subscription with them through an Amazon Local deal yesterday! I purchased the voucher, but haven’t actually used it yet. It sounds like I may be better taking the loss of what I paid for the voucher than to put my CC number in to activate my sub on their site 🙁

I’m pretty sure Amazon Local will refund you if you contact them! Good luck!

Thanks for the tip, Kim! They were super quick about responding and gave me a full refund!

Just one more person echoing what others have said … BUYER BEWARE!!!

I have to agree with what everyone else is saying. This was a really bad experience. For $20, I basically got a small bag of chips and a soda. That is not value. This was my worst experience after Try the World (because at least Conscious Box sent me something, while Try the World just took my money and was rude when I asked about receiving items I paid for).

I agree with others. They were the absolutely worst sub box I have tried. $20 for free sample packets.
I wouldn’t have laid $10 for what they send. So I am hesitant about what may be in this box.

Even with spoilers I wouldn’t buy from them. They charged me 20 bucks for a box of samples worth maybe 5 bucks! Sub par, bad customer service, terrible v company.

Conscious Box remains my worst ever sub box experience. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Liz – thank you for the mention – I feel the same way. I’m reluctant without a spoiler. If it was $30 without a spoiler i would probably get it.

Caveat emptor. Conscious Box does not have a working phone number for contact, has a terrible reputation on the better business bureau and even the phone number listed on the credit card statement when you buy from them is not working. I bought a box that did not ship for over a month, could not reach them, stopped payment through my credit card, then the box came and I did pay them, but I was thoroughly unhappy with the sub par customer service and communication.
