Bare Bliss Box Subscription Review – January 2015 Info

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included.

Bare Bliss Box Subscription Review – January 2015 Eye

ToGoSpa Coconut Eye Masks - FULL SIZE! Value $12.50

I just got these in the POPSUGAR Must Have January box in the Ice Water version, but I'm pretty obsessed with coconut, so I think I'll like these even more.

Bare Bliss Box Subscription Review – January 2015 elo

White & Elm Sunflower Deep Pore Cleansing Oil - 1 oz Value $12

eLo Tinted Lip Balm in Sangria - FULL SIZE! Value $7

This cleansing oil can also be used as a makeup remover. It is made with all organic and natural ingredients, and it has a subtle scent.

This lip balm is one of my favorite new discoveries in the box. It is flavored with watermelon extracts which makes it so delicious, and the formula gives a super glossy and moisturized finish with a nice hint of color.

Bare Bliss Box Subscription Review – January 2015 Mask

Pur Brew Tea Tree Bentonite Clay Masque - .5 oz Value $1.87

This mask leaked a little in shipping, but fortunately it was packed in a separate plastic bag so it didn't get on anything else.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $33. That's a little more than double the cost of the box, so I'm happy with the value. I also like that two of the four items are full sized, and one is travel-sized.

What do you think of the January Bare Bliss Box?

I’m curious if anyone knows what came in the Feb non-Gilt boxes.

Yes, my February box arrived on Monday, and included four items –
1) Aleavia lavender body wash – 4 oz deluxe size
2) Natura Culina Coconut Oil Soap in Orange Blossom – full size
3) Southern Magnolia Mojave Blush – full size? (1 oz / 2.8 g)
4) Mahalo Body Balm – sample size

I really like all of the items, and almost regret canceling my subscription. I only wish they had more consistent delivery and better communications when there are delays. *sigh*

Mine came too on Monday and had the same as above. I’m very happy with my box. The body wash is large for a sample….4 oz. Even with all the ups and downs with this box, I feel like it’s worth the 12.99 I pay with having a 3-month sub.

PA Anna

I read a review on the Feb box. I saw the pea color nail polish I received a few months ago. Did others receive repeats from previous boxes?

Bare Bliss is on Gilt City for 45% off right now.

Don’t worry, it will always renew at the same rate you sign up with. I remember it was said in the offer when I sign up.

I am consistently underwhelmed with this box. I joined from the very beginning, and every box has been late and/or incomplete. It takes weeks to get issues resolved with customer service. As soon as my special introductory period is over, I’m canceling. I would cancel now, but I’m afraid they wouldn’t send the last boxes that were already paid for. I’m going to stick to Kloverbox and Goodebox, as those never disappoint.

Liz, the monthly cost is now $19.99, 3 months is $16.99 per month, 6 months is $12.99 per month.what do you think of the increase? I have not received any notification of the increase and mine is up for renewal next month.Feb will be my last box of a 3 month sub.

My 3 month sub just renewed middle of Jan at the 12.99/month for 3 month rate. I wonder if maybe those who already have a sub will continue at the old rate? I’ll keep an eye on it….
To me, I have enjoyed this sub at that rate.

Thanks so much for posting this. I also have a three-month that expires in Feb., and definitely plan to cancel. This box is not worth those increased rates!

I wonder if she priced the sub too low for what she wanted to accomplished. It will be interesting to see the changes from the price increase. I agree that she should inform her subscribers of a price increase.

They must have changed things recently, got this from the site:

We curate your box with 4-6 nourishing samples with the purest ingredients

Do they still send out shipping notification for Canadians? I was told that the January box is going to be sent out a lot sooner, but I have yet to receive an email notification for shipping and it’s already end of the month. From what I’m seeing, this month’s box looks great despite not having 5-6 items as initially claimed. It’s been 4 months in and with the delay in shipping, and the fact that they are not sending out 5-6 products as initially claimed, I found it hard to convince myself to continue with the subscription after my 3-mnt subscription is over. Out of 4 months, I’ve had to contact them every month for my box (one time it wasn’t shipped out, the other times it was due to the delays…). I’m sick of following up with them each month regarding my box.

I’m with you. They’re giving less, charging more, and the box is always late or incomplete. Trying to get a response from Shelli is like pulling teeth.

I haven’t received a shipping notice the last two months. I’m located in NC and received my box on Monday (Bare Bliss is located in Atlanta), so you’ll probably receive yours sometime next week. They are definitely shipping more towards the end of the month now, not by the 15th, as stated on their website.

I’m not terribly excited about this month’s box, especially after hearing that the eye pads are made in China. (Thanks, Wendy, for that tip!) I tried them once and would have repurchased had I not seen that.

I got the lighter pink lip balm (pink lemonade). I love the color and staying power, but it has a funny, lipstick-like taste that I’m not fond of. The ingredients are all-natural, so I’m not sure where that’s coming from.

The mask is very nice and non-drying. I’ll probably get three uses out of the sample, since you don’t need to use much. And it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I’m debating whether I will buy a full-sized version before the discount expires.

I didn’t find the pore cleansing oil to be all that effective in makeup removal. I won’t be purchasing that one.

Love this box! I’m surprised because I’m slightly overloaded on most beauty and bath stuff at the moment but these are still things I would be excited about! Hoping I can get some from the swap site..

Still waiting to be impressed by Bare Bliss. Maybe It’s because I’m spoiled with the variety of full size products in Yuzen and Kloverbox.

Those eye pads are made in China. And I do not use anything made in China. They also came in the popsugar box this month. I have to agree that if you pay $17 a month for this box, it is not worth it. Petit Vour is definitely a better value. I pay the 3 month sub which comes out to $13 a month and I think it is ok. But besides the first box, it had not been more than 4 items.

I really like this box. It seems like they consistently send out great items. I think I’m going to have to subscribe!

It would be nice if they could send the promised number of items, at least once. I’ve only seen 3-4 and they advertise 5-6. With all the other issues they’ve had they might want to change their promised product quantity if they can’t manage to send 5 items at least once. Compared to Petit Vour, the Bare Bliss value isn’t as high and costs $2/mo more.

EC

I think the items are decent and from lesser known brands but think they need to change their advertised “5-6 products” promise since they haven’t sent more than 4 yet, at least not that I’ve seen. For the price point they’re closest to Glossybox who always sends 5 items (I only pay 16/mo for Glossy) and Petit Vour (15/mo). Either way, for me, the value isn’t quite on par with their competition, at least not yet.
