Geek Fuel Subscription Box Review - December 2014 Box

Geek Fuel is a brand new subscription box in the geek and gamer category. (I feel like I say this a lot - but I think 2014 was the year of the geek and gamer subscription box category explosion!)

Geek Fuel Subscription Box Review - December 2014 GOT

Living Language Dothraki Sample Lesson - Value ?

Geek Fuel Subscription Box Review - December 2014 GOT language

We're pretty big Game of Thrones fans, but I didn't know that HBO offers language courses!

Verdict: I thought this was a very interesting first box. They sent a lot of items I haven't seen in geek boxes before (which is impressive considering how many geek boxes we subscribe to), and the value is good too - over $70.

What do you think of the first Geek Fuel box?

I own the full version of this Dothraki language book and it was $30AUD, so I’d say the sample one would be at least $3-$5. Very interesting to include something like that in the box! I love the Hobbit card too, and the idea of coffee rather than some crappy $2 store lollies xD

I want to sign up. Does anyone know if they have any valid coupon codes for their boxes, and how easy it would be to cancel, when they bill? I’m not seeing the standard FAQ section on their site about when they do billing, cancelations policies … ect. – I don’t like to play the guessing game when it comes to boxes especially new ones.

We do not have any coupons out at this time, but it is something we have thought about. If you would like to cancel your account you can send us an email and we would be happy to assist you with the process. In regards to the billing, we bill on the 15th of every month. If you have any more questions feel free to send them to [email protected]

I really enjoyed this box. Love the poster and shirt. I am not a coffee person, generally get my caff fix cold and carbonated, but I put that item in the family Yankee gift exchange and the person who got it was very enthusiastic to try it.

When I sent emails to the sub box services I subscribe to asking for text only versions of their box inserts, Geekfuel was one of the first two to reply and they were very quick to help me. One last bonus for me, since I live in southern NM and GeekFuel is in Denver, I got my box from them the day after they shipped. Very nice.

I really wish they had more themed geek boxes. I’d love some of this stuff, but I don’t like the idea of getting items from things I’m not a fan of. For example, I wish there was a Doctor Who or Star Wars only box. So you wouldn’t run the risk of also getting Game of Thrones (which I have no interest in.) It’s the only thing really preventing me from signing up for Loot Crate, Geek Fuel, etc.

Liz – McAfee doesn’t like your website. I don’t know what is wrong being this is the first time I saw a warning.

2014 is a great year for Geek boxes. This one has items not commonly seen in boxes. They did a great job on their debut box. This is the first time I seen a Christmas card in it. I love what is written inside and it’s timely. My older son watched the Hobbit trilogy (special one-time showing) and then a week later watched The Battle of the Five Armies for the second time.

I’ve gotten warnings saying don’t enter this website. I just ignore it. No clue why it says it sometimes.

The Dothraki course is the one thing I’d love, but I do agree that the box contents are refreshingly unique! I can’t quite decide if I want to try. I just re-dumped Loot Crate because I’m not interested in January’s theme at all, so for geek boxes, I’m down to 1Up Box and My Geek Box. Maybe Geek Fuel is next for me, but I’ll see if I can find previous box reviews to decide.

I believe this is their very first box, so you may have to wait a few months if you want to see more reviews before subscribing.

Can you please include a ruler next to all pictures of items you review from now on? I’m always so curious as to the sizing of a lot of items that are being reviewed, especially the beauty products. Thanks so much Liz, Jennifer Welch 😉
