Quarterly Art, Toys & Collectibles Box Review #BLINDBOXBOX Letter

Each Quarterly box comes with a letter from the curator detailing the items included. For this box, it's all about blind boxes!

FYI - I'm completely out of my element in this review. (We are used to Funko mystery minis in this house, so while I'm probably not the best person to review this box, I wanted to show you exactly what came in the box). And since this box isn't exactly a good fit for me or my husband, I'm giving it away to one lucky reader - enter the giveaway at the end of the review!

Man this is such a rad box. My little brother loves this kind of stuff (not to mention me, who am I kidding?)

Would love to win this raddest of boxes!

I think these things are really cool! It’s a real shame they find a way to make items were more unique and not allow so many duplicates in the same box. But I guess that’s what’s swapping is for! I think I may just signed up for this particular subscription box. Hope I win this one!

I have 8 nephews and I think any of them would absolutely love this box.

I was able to snag a few of these from the swap side and used them as stocking stuffers for the kids (11 and 13). They really enjoyed them because they were different and interesting!

Definitely not what I was expecting. I hoped that I would have heard of at least some of the product lines in the box. The Jibibuts were a disappointment for me since I got the same one over and over. Same with the water drop figures. The Super Bastard things were a total loss for me, to me they are just little empty cardstock boxes within a larger box. I like the quirkiness of a lot of these. If I had it to do again, I probably would have saved the money, but do not count this a loss. Not sure if I will keep up the sub to this box. I will have to see what the next theme is. I have the Wheaton box that I need to be able to afford, so if it comes to a choice, Wil wins. If the theme for the next box is interesting and I have the budget, I will stick with the box.

What are these things? Are they from a game, cartoon, etc? I have never heard of any of them. The Jibibuts are cute; my 3 year old daughter would love them.

Thinking of it, this subscription should be called “Art Collectibles.” What they send are obscure pieces.

I subscribed to the first shipment of this box, and the description then said nothing about this being for adults. I was extremely disappointed because, like this box, everything had a WTF?! quality. I cancelled and returned the box.

Also, like this box, nothing was actually a toy, despite the name of the subscription. These are collectibles; nothing more.

I love these types of things! I wanted to buy this box but couldn’t get it in time

Call me crazy, but I love this! I am always collecting strange little Japanese figures and such! I hope I win this!

I am actually really into this box and might just have to subscribe, I am always interested in obscure and funky new designs. I have a few friends and relatives who would totally love these items as well. That’s a pretty good variety for the price.

With the exception of the little wooden cubes, I find these deeply disturbing.

Sneaky Burrito

It’s about 50/50 disturbing/cute for me. The organ donors creep me out for sure.

I’m sure there’s a market for this. I’m also sure I’m not part of it. (I can’t keep knickknacks around anyway. They’d all end up under the sofa/behind the toilet/etc. Because cats.

Omg, I’m so with you on this!

I was expecting Funkos or something like that. Just not the box for me!

I think this box works for the right person. It’s what I pictured from Quarterly. I did not purchase it because my older son prefers Funko POP, superheros, and Zelda/Mario/DK items.

A fun box! I could see the items in this box being displayed on a wooden shelf in a man cave type setting. Or a valentines day box, or an easter box for the right gamer. The house of flu might make a fun trinket for someone in the medical profession.

Nicole

This box was completely not what I was expecting. I ordered it thinking it would be great for Christmas gifts for me, my brother, & cousin but I had no idea what any of these were. I was hoping for Funko mystery minis and things like that, with recognizable characters. Thankfully, Quarterly does returns. However, I returned this like like 10 days ago and haven’t gotten my refund yet.

Angela

Have you checked the tracking for it? I returned a box to Quarterly and dropped it off at the UPS store 10 days ago exactly. My tracking says they should receive it today. Obviously they don’t do a “rush” return label! With the holidays, too, 10 days for them to receive it is about what I expected.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

My return was delivered to Quarterly 12/22. I got an email this afternoon saying that they had received it and would be processing my refund soon!

Annie

Did you keep the tracking info? I dropped of a Quarterly return to UPS on the 16th and it was just delivered yesterday!!

Denise

I was expecting what Nicole was expecting. His box was a giant WTF for me. I didn’t realize Quarterly did refunds or this stinker would’ve been sent right back. See my swap if you’re interested in those square doll things. They’re cardboard and rated TV mature so I can’t even dump them in a Halloween bag.
