Birchbox Man Subscription Box Review – December 2014 Box

Birchbox Man is a monthly grooming and lifestyle subscription box for men. Their lifestyle items tend to be formal (think ties, cufflinks, etc), so keep that in mind when subscribing!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Birchbox Man Subscription Box Review – December 2014 Flask

Izola 3 oz Flask - Value $23

These flasks have different saying on them - we got the one that says "To My Health." I think I may pair this with a bottle of alcohol for a holiday gift! (We already have our share of flasks thanks to subscription boxes!)

Birchbox Man Subscription Box Review – December 2014 No 4

No. 4 Hair Volumizing Conditioner - .25 oz Value $1

No. 4 Hair Volumizing Shampoo - 1 oz Value $4

Egyptian Magic Skin Cream - .25 oz Value $3.25

These are all unisex products, and I've actually sampled them all through my regular Birchbox subscription already! I really like every No. 4 Hair product I've tried so far, so the shampoo and conditioner will be used, and the Egyptian Magic skin cream is one of those cult-classic beauty items I might pass along to my mom to try since I already have one!

Birchbox Man Subscription Box Review – December 2014 Soap

Baxter of California Exfoliating Body Bar - Travel Size (1 oz) Value $2

Coolife Le Premier Parfum Sample -  1.6 ml Value $5

I'm on the fence with the Coolife cologne scent - but I love the Baxter of California soap scent. It's both clean/fresh and masculine.

Verdict: I never like getting perfume/cologne samples in my Birchboxes, but aside from that, I think this is a good box! The value is about $38. What did you get from Birchbox Man this month?

Liz, do you know if you get points for reviewing items in the men’s box? I’ve tried to leave a review, but it doesn’t look like the women’s part. Thanks!

Hello, you can get points for the men’s box just like the women’s. The website has been recently updated. I had to click on the product reviews and that is where the review product option popped up.

On a side note, how come the men’s boxes are so awesome? They get shirts, beanies, flasks? I’d pay double to get a lifestyle item or accessory.

Mine has not arrived but it is revealed on the site. I got this for my 17 yo son for xmas. He’ll be getting:
– Baxter of CA shave formula
– Hanz de Fuko Pomade
– Billy Jealousy cleanser
– A tie clip
– A soap

I’m happy: A nice range of basics that are always needed and I’m very happy about the tie clip rather than a flask!

My husband received a shirt with sleeves that only went to the elbows. The length of the sleeves makes the shirt look really awkward. He also received what is basically a duplicate hair pomade by Hans de Fuko but because it’s slightly different Birchbox won’t do anything about it. My husband doesn’t mind any of this though so oh well. He’s easy to please. 🙂

I have yet to receive mine or have my account even showing what samples I will get! It’s killing me since this box should have at least something I will hopefully gift out for the holidays! Ugh!

I feel these boxes for men include flasks as often as women boxes recieve candles. Do men really drink this much and do women need to burn things so often?

Heather

I’d love a flask in a women’s box!

Where does one use a flask? I am serious. I have never used one or seen anyone use one. Is the whole purpose to sneak alcohol into places it isn’t served/allowed?

Thanks!

Marissa

Can’t speak for the men but for the women, yes.
