Review Your Birchbox Samples!

FYI – Today is the last day to review your October Birchbox samples and earn Birchbox points!

If you aren’t familiar with Birchbox points, each month you get 10 points per sample when you review them. 10 points = $1, so if you review 5 samples each month for a year subscription, you’ll have $60 to spend in the Birchbox shop! ($5 X 12 months)

Here is a step-by-step break down of how to review samples:

Birchbox Points Tutorial

Under “Box” in the top navigation, click on Women’s Box. (Or Men’s if you subscribe to the Men’s box).

When you click “Women’s Box” you will be taken to a page that shows your most recent box/samples:

Birchbox Tutorial

You’ll want to review each one, and you review them one at a time. First I’ll review the Acure Facial Cleasner. I click the product image to get to the product detail page:

Write A Review

From here click “Write a Review”

Review Product

You’ll answer about 10 multiple choice questions. At the end of the page there’s an option to add a public product review:

Optional Info

You can do this if you want, but it is optional.  Click submit – and you’ll see this page:

And You're Done!

Repeat these steps with your other samples. It is a pretty easy 5 bucks!

Anyone else still not able to access what samples they received this month?

After over a year of membership, I expected to get the emails allowing me to select one product for my box. The link to the selection page isn’t available either.

Perhaps the problem is I don’t order products from the site or that I don’t review products. If I did not check this site I would not know the program existed.

Bummer Birchbox — there are other monthly boxes that don’t play games.

Are their any 100 point codes right now? I know there was awhile back. Just curious if there’s one for this month.

Yes – try BBJETBLUE! Good luck!

If you cancel and resubscribe with a code, how does it work? Do they refund part of the annual subscription and then you pay for another annual subscription in full?

You can only do it with 1-month recurring (non-gift) subscriptions. You cancel, then resubscribe and pay your $10. You’ll get a box either that month (if you haven’t gotten one already for that month) or the next month (if you have already gotten one for the month). You have to put the code in the promo code box and you’ll get 110 points — 100 for the code and 10 for the 1-month subscription.

Do Birchbox points ever expire?

Yes, the points expire one year from the date they are earned. (I accumulate a lot of points quickly from canceling and resubscribing with 100 point codes, + product reviews.)

Ever since I learned how to do this, I do them as soon as possible. I don’t have a lot of extra money lately, but I was able to get the Vanity Affair limited edition set for $18.40 with points and a code. (I certainly would not have had $98 to pay for it…) Should be here Monday, I’m excited.

I just got the women’s Conscious Commerce box, a pair of Bombas socks, the Kate Spade necklace, and the mystery sample pack for $1.81 out of pocket. Unbelievable! (Of course, first I bought a $12 water bottle to put me over 800 points, but still…not too shabby!) Birchbox really does have a fantastic points program.

I know, the points are the best. They’re like starting a savings account and putting in $10/month, having almost all of it back in the end, and having the “bank” send you treats every month, just for being you. Gotta love that!
