Awesome Pack is a new subscription box that delivers board games and other fun activities every month. (A few readers have reached out in the past asking if there was a board game subscription box - so I wanted to share this one as soon as I heard about it!)

A boardgame subscription for kids sounds awesome as long as it is just that. Any “stuff” should at least be boardgame related. Small deck game, dice, meeples, dice tower, even paint-your-own game pieces. I don’t know what a Frozen coloring book or Angrybirds plushy would be doing in there. Also, I would be willing to pay a lot more per month if it meant better quality games. Good games are pricey and I don’t want cheap filler in the mail. Is there going to be a “no Parker Brothers/Milton Bradley option”?

A bit pricey.
My kids definitely don’t need new toys every month (or at least not this many)
And we certainly don’t need any more random cr@ppola (wondering what those angry birds are)
HOWEVER, I could see subscribing for a month or two and possibly getting a couple months’ supply of birthday presents for all the birthday parties we seem to have EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND ARGH!

Thanks for letting us know about a board game box! I kinda wish it was not monthly, though, since it is so expensive (although most board games on my shelf cost around that).

I decided to try it. They said they will be adding a skip button starting in January and would except emails wanting to skip before then. Very prompt responses, so that made me feel better about taking the plunge.

$45 is too much for this type of box for me. I suppose as a one time thing, but I’d rather just pick up a new game. $20 is more in line for this category of box, at least for me.

The concept sounds interesting. I think this is one that I am going to wait and see what the first month brings.

I’m just so skeptical about companies that use words like ‘awesome’ in their names.

My husband opened his Bespoke gifts for his birthday and it says #BoxofAwesome. My younger son kept asking what is awesome LOL.

Ha! This reminded me that my 6 year old daughter recently watched the Lego movie and kept singing “everything is awesome!” during her bath tonight. 🙂

I’m interested but if there isn’t a coupon I’ll probably wait to see what the first few boxes look like before I decide.

Great Box especially for the winter. I seem to stay on the computer, so this subscription box would give me a well needed computer break. For $44.95 I’ll wait till there is a good coupon on it. A bit to much for me to spend right now, since I’ve lost track of how many boxes I’m getting since I’ve been purchasing a lot of 1 time only boxes.

$45? Everything in that picture doesn’t liok worth that price.

Munchkin can range anywhere from $25+, then the night sky thing could be anywhere from $15-$30 because that is how much (and sometimes more) those science kits cost retail. That is the price on its own right there.

Sounds super fun!

I think this is exciting! I have so many board games though that I am a little worried I would get ones I already own. Also, with the big kid option, I wonder how customized it can be to an adult only family…..

I emailed them and asked this afternoon, they replied super fast! They said that they are going to have a spot set up in a few weeks for people to list the games they have already, etc. so that no dupes happen. They did say that until that feature is set up that they are going to send out a survey to everyone who signs up to list games you own as well as likes and dislikes. They also promised to never send a dupe to a customer (ie: never get the same game twice in their pack).
Yes, I answered myself lol…… I just wanted to share the info now that I had it in case anyone had the same question.
