New Quarterly Curator – Design Sponge!

Design Sponge Quarterly Box

The newest curator from Quarterly is Design Sponge! The first box ships in December - here is a hint at what to expect:

"Trends will come and go, but at Design*Sponge, we will always love a great pattern. So I'm dedicating our first Quarterly box to dots, stripes, herringbone, florals and every other pattern we love so dearly. I'll be gathering a wide range of products from independent designers that will bring a cheerful bit of pattern to your table, desk or dresser!"

The Subscription Box: Design Sponge Quarterly Box

The Cost: $100

The Products: Design, Home and Art products

Ships to: Worldwide (Extra shipping costs for International subscribers)

Keep track of your subscriptions: Add this box to your subscription list or wish list!

What do you think of the latest Quarterly curator? I really loved the first Skandicrush box, and I feel like the home/design category of subscription boxes is currently underserved, so I'm looking forward to this one!

Quarterly needs a better proofreader unless Liz is sending us the scrub again. Fine by me because I do love it.

Well this makes my fourth quarterly box. I even had dreams about it last night and it was amazing! I might have an addiction myself, but this box sounds right up my alley. I hope I don’t regret the Nina box, but I’ll just return it. I doubt PS is going to get my money for LE boxes any more in the future.

I’m excited about this one. It looks like so much fun with many interesting patterns & designs.
I’m really nervous about the Nina box. I signed up for this one a “very” long time ago.
I hope it will be worth it.
Sigh…

Liz, speaking of Quaterly, where is our spoiler?! It’s shipping soon no?

I am really hoping I can have a spoiler and shipping date to announce as soon as tomorrow. (We’re in the process of finalizing one last item, and I don’t want to post about the spoiler until I know I am 100% happy and proud of the box). I can give you a hint that the spoiler will be a cozy item! 🙂

Hope my reasoning makes sense!

I signed up for this one. $100 is still big money for me, but with quarterly’s return policy I feel safe since there really is no risk involved if I hate it. The spoilers for the Bianca Jade box also look really good for this quarter. I’m excited!

Does everyone just know about the return policy via word of mouth? I am looking on the website and do not see any info on it. The only thing I can find is this under their terms:
5: RETURN AND REFUND POLICY

As explained above, the Service allows you to receive customized items by post. Because of the customized nature of these goods, Quarterly is unable to accept refunds or make exchanges for any good purchased through the Quarterly Service. If you have any questions regarding this policy, or if you feel that your order was incorrect due to an error on our part, please feel free to email us at [email protected]

Not positive, but I also think that it’s limited to subscribers versus those who just buy one-off boxes. (Kind of like how you have to pay shipping for one-off boxes but not for subscriptions.) I’ve only ever bought subscriptions though so perhaps others who have purchased the one-off and returned successfully can speak to this?

Jenn

I’m not sure, I’ve just heard you can contact them and they send you a call tag to return your box. Each of the curator’s pages feature a graphic that says 100% money back guarantee.

They are selling a $5,000. box.. My question.. Who is buying THIS?! and do they want to buy me one!? lol

Lol I know right.

I think I will like this box. Am I understanding correctly that we will be doing a DIY project? I’m unfamiliar with the curator and when browsing through her blog quickly it seems that is what the box will be about.

Thank you for the link. I am intrigue and am looking forward to it. WordPress gave me an error saying I am posting too fast. Obviously WordPress doesn’t understand that there wasn’t much downtime today. I want to post now and go to sleep 🙂

This box sounds really tempting, but $100 is a lot to gamble with on a box. I just signed up for the Fancy food box, and will wait to see how that pans out first.

The great thing about Quarterly is that their boxes are returnable, you have the opportunity to get the box and decide if you want it. I’ve been burned by bad Fancy Boxes.

I just signed up for Design Sponge only because I am so bummed over my PS NM box after the spoilers were posted. I am so excited to see what this box has to offer.

Did they come out with a coupon for this one? I know they usually give a discount for the first week or so that a new box is out.

I’ve been waiting for this one — Design Sponge is my favorite design blog and have been reading for years. I can’t wait!

I’ve shifted my subscriptions lately and now I am subscribed to MSA Quarterly, Design*Sponge Quarterly, Petit Vour, and French Box. I think this makes a nice mix for me.

Looks great, I look forward to your review. I am good with holiday boxes now, between Rosario Dawson, MSA02, and scandikrush. Thrilled i didnt buy NM Ps box. Thank you fellow sub addicts and Liz!

I so appreciate everyone’s comments. I just went and purchased the Holiday box too. Am also debating on the Sponge Design box. Hard part is too give up some items for gifts but I bet it will be a great box for gifts. Haven’t canceled Nina’s box. Hope it will not disappoint as it is my first box from her.

This looks awesome!!! But wait – I thought Quarterly wasn’t sending anything out in December?

Canceled my Nina box and signed up for this one!! Can’t wait, love the home and design goods. Got the Skandicrush Holiday Box too. So excited!!

If I could have gotten a refund for the Popsugar NM box.. totally would have sprang for this. Sounds really fun!

I was on the fence about Skandicrush when it first came out. Scandinavian design can be hit or miss with me, but I really liked the items in the first box, so I sprang for subscription which will start in December. I didn’t realize they had a Holiday box, so I just popped over and bought one. This year, all of my gifts are going to be comprised of items that came out of subscription boxes!!

Signed up for this and the holiday Skandicush box!! I’m so excited to see how they turn out.
