Birchbox Limited Edition Home Sweet Homespun Box Review Items List

is a list of all the items included.

Birchbox Limited Edition Home Sweet Homespun Box Review Ideas

They also included a few tip cards: 5 Ways to Warm Up A Frigid Day, How To Take Photos Worthy of Your Mantel, and Secrets of Stress-Free Hostess.

Birchbox Limited Edition Home Sweet Homespun Box Review Cookie

Milk Bar Cornflake-Chocolate-Chip-Marshmallow Cookie Mix – Value $16

This cookie mix is the biggest item in the box and I think it's a great addition.

Birchbox Limited Edition Home Sweet Homespun Box Review Candle

Illume Mini Tin Candle in Noble Currant - Value $9

This is one of those scents I keep smelling to decide if I love it or hate it! I really like a lot of the Illume holiday scents I've tried, and this one is growing on me.

Birchbox Limited Edition Home Sweet Homespun Box Review Tags

Meri Meri Little Garden Treat Kit – Value $12.95

This set goes well with the cookie mix - and at least most of the tags aren't holiday specific! (I was worried this item would stand out as a little late if I gifted it on Christmas).

Birchbox Limited Edition Home Sweet Homespun Box Review Socks

Askinosie Sipping Chocolate - Value $4

Richer Poorer Socks – Value $12

According to the full-size version of this cocoa, this packet is enough to make two servings. (It's 38 grams). And I'm always happy to get a new pair of socks in a box!

Birchbox Limited Edition Home Sweet Homespun Box Review DIY Kit

MAKERSKIT Hanging Photo Clips Complete Project Kit – Value $24

Birchbox Limited Edition Home Sweet Homespun Box Review Kit

For the life of me I can't figure out how this kit could be worth $24. I think $10 would be a stretch since it is just twine, mini clothespin clips, card stock and a glue pen. The idea of it is cute especially to hang holiday cards, but I just don't think anyone I gift this box to will think this item has a high value. (Which doesn't bother me since I think the rest of the items have plenty of value).

Also - one more pet peeve: I wish they would have included the instructions in the box instead of having them online. OK - I'm done complaining!

Birchbox Limited Edition Home Sweet Homespun Box Review Cowshed

Soak Handmaid Luxury Hand Cream in Fig – Value $10

Cowshed Lippy Natural Lip Balm – Value $4 (Travel size)

I'm impressed with the formula of the hand cream - it's lightweight, absorbs quickly, and so far has been keeping my hands moisturized. I like the scent but I don't love it.

This lip balm is one of my favorite discoveries in the box - it's like a natural version of those blistex lip balms - which are so great for dry skin weather!

Verdict: I bought quite a few of these boxes for holiday gifts, and now that I have one of the boxes in my hands, I'm even more excited to gift them. Birchbox Limited Edition boxes always just feel so special. And with the exception of the Hanging Photo Clips kit, I think the value is great and I like the variety of items - it should appeal to a wide range of people.

What do you think of the Home Sweet Homespun box?

I have to agree on the scent of the candle, it is kind of strange, a woody/sweetish smell? Not offensive, but different for sure. I will have to see how it smells when burnt. I was also happy that the gift bag & tags weren’t too holidayish. I liked the maker’s kit photo hanging project, but also don’t think it’s worth $24. I found that my kit came with 10 mini clothes pins, so it was easier to just cut each square in half twice with my rotary cutter at 1.5″ (instead of cutting into thirds twice like the video suggests) I also placed knots between the pins, but that was just my take on it. Oh and she is right about opening the super glue, mine burst all over, so make sure you lay down some newspaper or something if you care about the surface you are working on. I have decided to give this to my sister as a christmas gift, I know she’ll love it!

I really like this box, not as much as last year’s snow day one, but still like it. The cookie mix and sipping chocolate smell amazing. I love the socks and lip gloss, so those items alone made the box worth it for me. I also really liked the hand lotion and the candle smells really good. The hanging photo clips though, no way could that be a $24 value, you could go to hobby lobby and get the supplies for cheaper.

Liz, do you think, they will release more holiday box or is it all?

I think these are the main holiday boxes. I believe they still have two ethically sourced boxes coming up for men and women – but that’s all I know.

My November box should be here Friday or Saturday. I am hoping that an ethically sourced box will be listed in the gift guide.

Hesitant to give a gift with a product called “lippy cow”, whoa.

The cookie mix is my favorite thing in the box.

I am so excited about this box. This is my first experience with Birchbox and I am very pleased after the problems with other subs last month.
When I had a problem adding my credit card a very kind person posted their phone number for me on MSA and BB answered on the 2nd ring, straightened the problem out immediately. The box is on the way and will receive tomorrow.
I added the Crack Pie mix, as I had been planning to make this from scratch. I wasn’t even aware Momofuku had mixes out. So excited 🙂

Nothing to blow me out of the water (except for the mix) but just good stuff! Well curated box imo.

I ordered this box yesterday with the mobile20 code. Looking forward to receiving it. They ship fast and sent a shipping confirmation yesterday. I love the variety of the boxes they offer. It’s always fun to try new things and also gift them to friends I know will enjoy them.

Excited to be getting this; I think I’m going to order another, actually. I’m most excited about the Milk Bar mix, although making cookies from scratch isn’t complicated, I remember looking up the recipe for these and there were some extra steps dealing w/the cornflakes, etc. This will make it super easy. Everything else will make great little “extra” gifts or stocking stuffers. And with points and/or discount codes, you can’t really beat the price.

I’m glad people are so excited about this box, but honestly it doesn’t do much for me aside from the socks and possibly the cookie mix. I’m mostly turned off by the photo clips project, and the gift tags don’t seem like anything special to me either. Lip balm and hand cream look nice, but how many of those items do I already have? If the photo clips and the the tags were replaced by something else (loved that mini Scrabble last year, for example) I’d be all over this, but as it is it’s kind of a miss for me. Super excited for Vanity Affair box, however!

Oh, and I wanted to add – I’ve had several Illume candles and they don’t impress me. Pretty packaging, and the fragrances often seem promises, however they don’t have much “throw” to them at all.

misha

these illume candles smell nice, I got two in the sample society mystery box sale. They however, do not last the supposed 10 hour burn time. Maybe half that, but the smell is nice…

Mixie

These are my favorite gifts to give to my kids’ teachers. They are at a good price point and feel special.

I think this box is so cute! I am going to use points to get this mostly for myself, but a few of the items will make great gifts as well! The photo project is probably not worth what it claims, but I still think it’s cute and will be perfect to decorate my new desk at work. And I just love socks, lip products, candles, cookies, and chocolate… It actually might be hard to part with any of this stuff after all 😉

Sneaky Burrito

Eh, nothing I would really use. I keep such a full pantry that I am ready to make cookies at any time (without a mix). Plus I prefer whole grain flours. The socks would get worn but aren’t really needed. (Same with the hand cream and lip balm.)

Now, the other box they released, I’m trying to save up points for that one. It’s much more my style.
