ARI02 Spoiler!

We have a new Arianna Huffington #ARI02 Quarterly Box spoiler! Each box will include:

The Power of Now

The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhar Tolle - Retail Value $15 (On Amazon for $8.50)

A brief synopsis from Amazon:

It's no wonder that The Power of Now has sold over 2 million copies worldwide and has been translated into over 30 foreign languages. Much more than simple principles and platitudes, the book takes readers on an inspiring spiritual journey to find their true and deepest self and reach the ultimate in personal growth and spirituality: the discovery of truth and light.

In the first chapter, Tolle introduces readers to enlightenment and its natural enemy, the mind. He awakens readers to their role as a creator of pain and shows them how to have a pain-free identity by living fully in the present. The journey is thrilling, and along the way, the author shows how to connect to the indestructible essence of our Being, "the eternal, ever-present One Life beyond the myriad forms of life that are subject to birth and death."

Featuring a new preface by the author, this paperback shows that only after regaining awareness of Being, liberated from Mind and intensely in the Now, is there Enlightenment.

What do you think of the latest spoiler? I absolutely loved reading Thrive from her first Quarterly box, so I can't wait to read this one, and I hope she continues to include a book in every box!

Also, Quarterly is doing a giveaway for all subscribers. One person will win and get their box for free. If you are a current subscriber or if you subscribe before this box ships you are already entered. There is no purchase necessary - Check out the Full Giveaway Rules and Terms and Conditions.

Has anyone received this box yet? I’m soooo curious to what is in it. I cancelled because of the book, but might send Quarterly an email to see if a box is available if the other items looked great. As of now it is the headphones, book, and the new Philosophy item.

Full Spoiler Alert!

I just got my Arianna box. Her letter says the items are supposed to “help us quiet the world, push away the distractions and help us start the day more renewed and recharged.”

My box was missing a page from her letter so I don’t know the reasoning behind all her choices. The box contains all the spoiler items: The Power of Now book by Eckhart Tolle ($15), the Urbanears Medis earbuds ($49.90), and the philosophy renewed hope in a jar moisturizer (this is 1 fl oz; a full size 2 fl oz jar costs $47). The other items include a “personal travel armrest” by NAPWRAP ($20), a DVD titled Kitchen Makeover for JJ Virgin’s Sugar Impact Diet ($25), a glossy pamphlet titled The Virgin Sugar Impact Scales that contains food lists and a diet blueprint (value: ?), a toasted coconut cacao bar from the same diet line (value: $2.50, based on the $29.95 price of for one dozen), and a 1-month prepaid subscription to Eckhart Tolle TV ($14.95-$19.95).

Overall, I think this box has some nice items although I find these earbuds to be rather uncomfortable. The incomplete letter also kind of ruined the experience for me (I like to read those things before I dive into a box and check out the actual items). It’s also kind of ironic that there’s missing content since Arianna is an editor-in-chief of a major publisher…

No, but it is supposed to come today or tomorrow. I love the sleep mask from last time and am looking to get another but so far no luck trading.

Hmmm…I was really excited by the first spoiler (the philosophy moisturizer), and figured I could use a good pair of headphones for the gym, but I’m not so sure about this one….mind you, I was all snarky over the first box, but so many people loved it (and I loved the first spoiler) that I decided to give it a whirl.

I think I’m going to cancel…I’m not interested in the book, the headphones don’t get great reviews, and — while I love philosophy — this is something I can easily get myself. Admittedly the three spoilers do cover the cost of the box, but it’s just not doing it for me.

Very glad I cancelled Hitha as well. Somebody on MUT posted what they got and it’s very disappointing — it doesn’t even look like it covers the cost of the box.

Just checked the Hitha spoiler and I agree!

I know this is sacrilege but I also canceled my MSA box at the last minute. I know that throw is gorgeous and high quality but I find wool terrifically itchy. I can’t wear sweaters with any percentage of wool in them (even if I put them on over other layers) without wanting to claw my skin off. I would have definitely had to gift it and that just made me sad. I want these boxes to be for me! Only me!

On the plus side this means another box for someone else to love!

I did appreciate the sentiment of the first box. I’ll use the oils on occasion and now I know I have the capacity to meditate (even if I only made it 20 days before it dropped off my priority list). Getting her book was also nice but I’ve only made it a quarter of the way through as my reading list is rather long. The tea was also great, but again one of those things I’m keeping on hand for use “as needed”. With this spoiler I’m happy I canceled.

If the dates of the contest is any indication, this box isn’t shipping until mid December.

I had signed up for the box, but this spoiler just isn’t my cup of tea, so I will use my $100 to buy the Causebox by Sevenly.

The first spoiler had me on alert for a possible purchase. The second spoiler saved me $100.

I’m not crazy about the book selection. I am happy to see a book included and hope that continues. It sounds like it will be an interesting box.

I decided to cancel for the same reasons that others listed. I don’t use headphones and the book does not interest me. I do like the Philosophy spoiler, but decided to use the money on the Causebox instead.

Laurie

Ditto — I love the concept of the Causebox (and the first spoiler), and it’s much more within my budget.

Any idea on the ship date for this box? I’m anxiously awaiting it’s arrival!

Me too! And I loved Thrive and the meditation app as well. Bought a full year of headspace after 30 day trial.
