Svbscription Women’s Edition Box Review: Escape

Svbscription Women's Edition Box Review Box

Svbscription is a luxury quarterly subscription box. They originally only did a men’s box, but recently they started a women’s mailing as well.  This is the second mailing from their women’s subscription – the next one is scheduled for December.

This used to be the most expensive subscription box (I beileve) but now Tim Ferriss is definitely out doing them with his $5000 Holiday box.

Svbscription Women's Edition Box Review Towel

This is definitely the plushest beach towel I’ve ever felt! I love the black and white graphic print too.

Svbscription Women's Edition Box Review Wallet

Svbscription Women's Edition Box Review Wallet Open

This is such a classic piece. I almost wish it had regular credit card compartments so I could make it my everyday wallet, but it will be used just for travel!

Svbscription Women's Edition Box Review Voayger

Limited Special Edition Voyager Fisheye 2 – Value $89

Svbscription Women's Edition Box Review Camera

I am so in love with this packaging that I really want to gift this. (And I don’t use cameras nearly as much as I should).

Svbscription Women's Edition Box Review Set

This is a set of notebooks from 8 different designers:

This is another item that I think is so cool it might be best to gift to someone who is design-obsessed rather than keep it. (And I definitely don’t need any more notebooks. But I do love this set!)

Svbscription Women's Edition Box Review The Plant

The Plant Magazine – Value $15

This magazine is about plants, gardening, nature, etc. I’ve never seen it before, and it’s always interesting to get to read non-mainstream magazines.

I also wanted to point out that the box itself is a keepsake – it’s hinged and beautiful. (It ships in a larger cardboard box).

Verdict: This was such a treat to unbox and review. It also has a value of over $700. The quality and the curation are defnitely top-notch, and I think this subscription falls into the category of “what to get for the person who has everything.”

What do you think of the Women’s Edition of Svbscription? If you are interested in the upcoming box, here is what you can expect: “W3: Entertaining is being curated by fashion icon Susie Bubble and top photographer Phil Oh. It is a high-quality collection of items for the home featuring a custom object from celebrated New York art and design duo Confetti System, a beautiful ceramic item from Brooklyn-based photographer and potter Helen Levi, loungewear from contemporary UK label YOLKE, a very special item for the home from Maison Martin Margiela, and more surprises to come.”

  1. I had this for a month due to a Gilt coupon and it was hands down the worst experience form any subscription box I had. Useless if you don’t fit the target market of male with heaps of disposable income.

  2. Geez, I wish I could afford the next box because it sounds amazing! I love Confetti System and Susie Bubble – she has a great eye. And I wonder what the Margiela item will be? I hope they send it to you because I would love to see what’s inside.

  3. I look at this and the value is almost comparable to the Neiman Marcus psmh box from last year. I would love to have all the things but I’m apparently not the target market because I can’t imagine spending that much on a subscription. Heck, sometimes I spend $21 on boxycharm and I’m disappointed with the $100+ value. You can get cameras like that at they also sell film and have printing services. I wish I could buy these subs because sometimes it feels like a huge win like with the NMPSMH from last year. I love that they did plates and a throw. This feels very specific. Just because you have money to throw doesn’t mean you travel and need an expensive towel. I feel like this box takes advantage of the subscription fad but doesn’t add to the appeal of subs at all.

  4. I personally loved this box and purchased it when it was first released several months ago (I think I commented with a picture of it right after I received it.) My wallet is a pale pink and my notebooks are slightly different. I just wish they would have included film for the camera in the box. I like that this box feels exclusive and that the contents are unique and purposeful, that’s really part of the appeal of Svbscription. I liked that everything in the box wasn’t something that my friend’s already have or overly mainstream.

  5. I just sort find this a little odd. the price is RIDIC. imagine how many people you could feed for that money. but even without that i agree i dont feel like this box seems all that female centric ? notebook value is ridic and $85 for a towel is cray cray imo. sometimes i wonder where they get the values on some of these items. i guess value is one of those things that is subjective. if i get gluten containing food in my box its 0 value to me cuz i cant eat it. if i get a 50th dry shampoo and dont need it its not valuable…however, something small ive been wanting to try for months that i end up loving probably has greater value than the retail price. very subjective! i just feel like this whole box is a bit offputting but its probably the sticker shock.

  6. There are so many more things you could buy for that price that would be useful. This box (excluding the camera and the tablet IF you travel) are the only things you might get your “money’s worth” out of of. It seems weird to me that they would include a bunch of almost useless items in a box that barely goes over the price of what you spend. But, some people just have money to burn, lol.

  7. I like the curation in this box and the items were nice. Obviously some thought was put in here and the items appear to be of quality. However, I agree that the price point is far too high for the average person.

  8. I like Popsugar better than that. : / wow that’s expensive. So basically you are paying for each item.. and getting a set of free notebooks with it.

I am glad you did not actually have to pay for this. It is nice stuff… just not for that price.

  9. I kind of like the box that it came in the best…

    • Same here.

I actually really like all the items, I just would never pay that much for any of them. If I had that kind of money I’d probably much rather pick out my own set of matching ridiculously expensive beach towels, ya know? I guess it is a box for a rich person to gift to another rich person.

  10. I really like those items but the cost is way too high for me. But if i had the money and was someone who traveled a lot it would be a good box.

  11. It’s interesting to read what is in the box. I like the wallet and camera. The notbeooks are 36 page notebooks. Expensive! Is the magazine a glossy? It looks like it would have beautiful photos.

  12. This does nothing for me….$125 notebooks are a little much….I just think if someone handed me $589 the amazing haul I could produce! I agree that there is paying for quality (leather, cashmere, beautiful art or handmade jewelry) and then there is just dumb.

    • I think if someone handed me $589 I could make 2 car payments or 1 mortgage payment and still have enough left over to buy a tank of gas.

  13. I think whenever your value is more than the actual cost of the box, the value is good. This box doesn’t really appeal to me, I mean those are some pretty expensive notebooks. The only thing I want is that camera

  14. For being almost $600 you’d think the value would be more then $700

  15. Some of the items seem nice, but those notebooks don’t look any different than dollar store ones. There might be a paper quality difference, but this goes beyond the idea of true luxury and into the realm of “ha, rich people don’t care about prices!”

  16. It’s nice to see what comes in a box at a higher pricepoint, but I’m not that impressed with this one. It feels as if it’s geared towards a much older audience: retirees who are comfortable with analogue cameras and like gardening. It seems conservative and masculine. I would’ve hoped for something a little bolder, with a stronger theme and more of a designer edge.

  17. WOW….$589 a box!!!!
