Social Bliss The Style Box Subscription Review – Oct 2014 Matte

Nabi Matte Nail Lacquer - Value $4

Alexander McQueen Quote Notebook - Value $4?

My box was missing the info card, so I will be guessing on the values of most of these items. If you received the card with your box and can share the prices please let me know in the comments!

Social Bliss The Style Box Subscription Review – Oct 2014 Wallet

Burgundy Wallet - Value $35?

I actually needed a new wallet, so this is probably the first Social Bliss item that I can say I will use it every day.

Social Bliss The Style Box Subscription Review – Oct 2014 Chain

It also comes with a mini-chain in case you want to use it as a purse. (Subscribers will get this color or black).

Social Bliss The Style Box Subscription Review – Oct 2014 Wallet

Graphite Watch - Value $30?

The stones in this watch aren't glued down, so they actually move around a little bit.

Social Bliss The Style Box Subscription Review – Oct 2014 Scarf

Floral Scarf - Value $30?

This scarf was available in one of two colors:

Scarf Options

I would have been happy with either color, but I think this gray/peach version will be more appropriate for spring.

Verdict: I can't do a value analysis of this box yet, but I do think this is a better box than their past two boxes. The scarf and the wallet I know I will use, and the remaining items I'll probably use or swap. (And I'm happy that there aren't any items that feel like filler this month).

Do you subscribe to Social Bliss Style Box? What do you think of the box this month?

Honestly this box wasn’t that bad compair to the last 3 months, I think it’s all depend on what color scarf or watch you got, I got the navy/grey scarf and the white watch and I love those two items. Maybe this subscription is coming back to us guys. 🙂

I actually really liked this box! The thing is, I recv’d items that slightly differ from Liz’s box and others so the things I recv’d weren’t cheap looking to me at all. Not “high end”, but def. not bad. The wallet I recv’d was the same color but it didn’t have the ugly quilting going on at each end. Also, the gold at the front is more delicate, smaller and has small crystals embedded in it. Way prettier. My watch is white, I would have preferred black, but I waay prefer the rose gold bezel to the one pictured. It has a lot more dazzle. I recv’d the black/grey version of the scarf and I love it. I’m a scarf person. The size is great and this one can basically go with anything I wear. I wore it literally all day yesterday with what I happened to be wearing when the box came! I had many compliments on it. Granted the book is a throw away, I won’t use it for sure – but the polish seems interesting, although no big deal. I consider myself fashion forward, and I feel like the difference for me hating or loving this box was in the details. Luckily, things fell my way this time!!

That wallet is so gross and cheap. I am so glad I cancelled this sub after the first few months. More dollar items from the streets of china. FYI in china you can buy these watches for $1 on the streets along with the ugly wallet. I cannot imagine anyone wearing such junk. If the box was 24 dollars with shipping it would be ok. Who would spend $50 dollars on this no name junk. They also sell ugly scarfs for $1 on the streets in china too. I am guessing someone where is getting this in china and sending it here. The USA value of this box is maybe 10 dollars . You can get a nice leather wallet on sale for the 50 dollars you spent on this box and not wear plastic garbage.. Just my 2 cents

There’s no need to be rude to her!

I bought that exact watch online for $15 ($21 w/shipping) when I saw someone post it in a spoiler. Same brand and same style.

This is one sub that I do not miss at all. For $50 one could have purchased a Kate Spade wallet during their F&F 30% off sale this past weekend. I’d rather have a single Kate Spade wallet over the entire contents of this box.

Agreed. I so not look forward to receive this box. I’m just very glad that this is my last box with them. The wallet and watch both look very very cheap. I personally prefer designer wallets and handbags because the materials are way better and would last way longer. No more socialbliss yay!

I got the same watch, but the bezel, numbers and hands are all rose gold, and its actually beautiful. It was a wonderful surprise considering that I am just waiting until November for this box ‘o crap sub to be done.

I’m sad to see that this sub doesn’t appear to ever be coming back to where it began in terms of overall quality. It started strong and for the first 4 months was great-included great products at a good value. Since then it has slipped off, well, actually, more like plunged off a cliff since it was so sudden. In May it took a nosedive with not a single fashion item save for a tiny coin purse (that they called a “clutch”). Then began the flood of sketchy, unbranded, cheap third party reseller merchandise (I’m trying to be kind). Last month looked like someone cleaned out their closet and cosmetics drawer and threw the unwanted extras into a box. The demographic for this box is the fashion forward woman. It wasn’t intended as a teen box at all, at least not according to the company. So I definitely included myself in their target demographic or I wouldn’t have subbed at all. If they are somehow trying to target a different, younger audience, the last 4 boxes would be epic fails, at least according to my daughters and their friends. It’s a very narrow group that enjoys consistently getting mystery Chinese knock offs passed off as style/fashion for the bargain price of $50/month. It’s not to say it’s bad to like something here and there but it is absolutely not worth the stated values and none of the items sent the past 6 months have been on trend, cutting edge, or otherwise fashion focused at all. I used to be their biggest cheerleader in the first 4 months, even in the 5th which majorly sucked (and they never even responded to my message about it; the only response I ever got from SB was a rude, condescending, blatant lie regarding whether they ever intended to give coupon codes for current subscribers versus new subs only). I can’t cheerlead for this hot mess any longer. I couldn’t even give away items from the last few boxes at a community yard sale (ditto for lots of Nina Garcia summer box products). Literally couldn’t give them away. Very sad.

Ditto to many of your points, Erin. I’m growing more & more confident I made the decision to unsubscribe. I gave the polyurethane metallic gold-toned purse (from July) to my flamboyant bling-loving grandmother, who’s in her 90’s. Even she asked if that sort of thing is popular these days. (I have no idea, Nana, but not with me.) The Izzy & Ali Hannah bag (from April), in what is described as “Super Luxe Matte Faux Leather” (AKA polyurethane), was offered to five different friends and two of their teenage daughters (some fashion-forward, some trend-setters and even some who don’t care about fashion, at all) before I finally found an eight year old taker. I could hardly give it away, literally. I could not give away the gold chain jewelry, even showing them how it could be worn as a necklace. Social Bliss was a waste of my money. It’s not a cheap box, yet the items they include are inexpensive and seem to be progressively decreasing in quality. Swank & in-vogue do not particularly describe me, but I am selective about the quality of my watches, purses & shoes. This doesn’t demand a huge financial commitment. With a good mind, bargains can certainly be found for the price of this box. Seems to be a smarter decision, for me.

Erin, Well said, and I couldn’t agree more. I was quick to cancel last night. What a bunch of Chinese junk.

No one will ever accuse me of being fashion forward LOL. I’m more of an outdoorsy girl. Yet even I can see the difference in quality from the first few boxes and now just from looking at the pictures. Still I wouldn’t know if the designs and colors are on trend for this fall.

I am so glad I cancelled last month. More cheap crap from China that I am not one bit jealous of.

Disclaimer: I am not the demographic they are trying to reach nor do I subscribe. It’s nice that they switch to a wallet and sent the chain for it. I can’t tell if the watch is big or dainty looking. It looks big. I can see the box being popular with the variations while staying true to what people feel should be in the box.

I don’t know, this felt like a bunch of junk made in China. The wallet quality is hardly $35, the coin part is open in the bottom, so your coins can travel. The watch will probably need to be sized, (more money) for most of us.. Camo scarf, meh. Another useless book, meh and last but not least the nail polish filler. What a waste of money. BTW, these products were far far cheaper if you research the internet compared to what they quoted on the card.

I did think it was strange that the watch came loose in the box, and then there was an empty watch box. The crystal did not have any protective film on it, so it could have scratched; luckily it didn’t.
