Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Oct 2014 Info

Inside are details on the items included.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Oct 2014 Tee

Death by Kitten T Shirt - Value $18?

Loot Crate doesn't always include a t-shirt in their boxes, but you can expect a t-shirt every two or three months.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Oct 2014 Survive

How to Survive a Sharknado - Retail Value $15 (On Amazon for $9.57)

Slashes & Bites Temporary Tattoos - Value $5?

I love the description of this book:

In the apocalyptic world we live in, Mother Nature is angry. Danger waits at every turn, and catastrophes like the Los Angeles sharknados have taught us that we need to be ready for anything. Too many lives have already been lost.

But fear not. How to Survive a Sharknado and Other Unnatural Disasters is the first and only comprehensive guide to surviving the very worst that Mother Nature can throw our way. Inside this life-saving reference, you'll find:

  • Vital information about dozens of unnatural disasters and ungodly monsters that can injure, maim, or kill you, from arachnoquakes and ice twisters to piranhacondas and mega pythons;
  • Easy-to-understand survival tips for avoiding a bloody demise;
  • Inspirational words of wisdom from survivors, including Fin Shepard and April Wexler;
  • Useful resources, such as the Shepard Survival Assessment Test (S.S.A.T), and much more.

With this essential book in hand, you too can be a hero who laughs in the face of calamity while saving friends and family. Or you can just avoid getting savagely ripped apart by a sharktopus. Either way, you've been warned. Now be prepared.

And it gets really good reviews too!

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Oct 2014 Walking Dead

The Walking Dead Comic Issue #132 - Value $5?

"Oh Brother" Walking Dead Art Print by JSalvador - Value $10?

We're big Walking Dead fans, so both of these items are great additions to the box!

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Oct 2014 Pen

Sledgesaw Hammer Pen - Value $10?

This Dead Rising 3 Pen is an exclusive item for Loot Crate, so I'm guessing on the value. My husband loves it and it's nice that it is actually a practical pen too!

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Oct 2014 Pin

Loot Crate boxes also come with some bonus extras. This month it's a Toxic Waste candy, a free download from Curse Voice, and the Fear box pin.

Verdict: Doing a value-breakdown for Loot Crate isn't always easy since so many items are exclusives each month. My estimates may be a little off, but I think it is safe to say this box has a value of around $50. I think they did a great job with the Fear theme, and my husband loves a lot of the items, so the October box is definitely a win for us. What did you think of this month's Loot Crate?

I’ve been a loot crate subscriber since the “Dragon” box. I am always impressed with the commitment they make to the theme of the box. It is always interesting and fun. We save the box for dinner and unbox as a family together and we are all smiles! Usually I LOVE most of the items, but I always am entertained with the entire process. The new decorated boxes make it even better. It is hard to recycle these boxes (warning). I want to put them on the shelf too – but it might be a bit much. LOL. They started decorating with the villains box. I’ve subscribed to a few “nerd” boxes and this one won – I’ve cancelled the rest. I love the themes and the exclusive items rock.

I saw on their website that a lot of people use the boxes for shelves. It’s a great idea and preserves the artwork on the boxes. We are planning on hanging ours in my son’s room after we paint.

We have been getting the subscription for about 6 months now (and by we I mean it’s supposed to be for my teenage son, but…). I have enjoyed all of the boxes, but this is my personal favorite! This cat shirt ran big, so I was able to wear it once before I washed it and now he can wear it. (It was a large and I wear an XL). Loot Crate is fun!

It was our first subscription box which led me to this sight, which has influenced me to sign up for a bunch more boxes!

OK…that pen is amazing – LOVE IT! The T-shirt is pretty cool too.

I ordered this for my son, and this was our first box. We were not disappointed. The shirt cracked me up and it is uber soft! I love the pen!! My son was sad the entire book wasn’t 3D…but he got over it and loved everything in the box. I can’t wait to see our next one!

If I go ahead and sign up for this box now.. will I get the October box or would it start with the November box? I don’t seem to really have a clear answer about that on their site.

Steve

It is too late now. I believe you had to sign up before the 20th to get the October crate.

I have the shirt in a size small! I am not on the trading group here, but I’ve had many successful trades and purchases through the Golden Tote group in Facebook. My 13 year old son isn’t a fan of the cats, so doesn’t want the shirt. Not trying to get into trouble here, so I apologize in advance if this isn’t ok. I’m happy to give my email if this is allowed. I hate to see the shirt go to waste. Let me know…

Immediately stole the cat shirt from my husband! Lol

My husband gets loot crate and wears a size Large t shirt. I wear a size small or x-small. I”M SO JEALOUS OF THE DEATH BY CATS SHIRT. I wish we could purchase it separately because there’s no way I can wear his, unless I get it altered and I doubt he’s going to part with it.

Karlie,

I have it in a small. My 13 year old son was not a fan of the cats. What do you have to swap for it? (see my comment above)

Hi Liz,

I am not a LOOT crate kinda girl. But I do love that cat T-Shirt. Is it exclusive to LOOT Crate? Or is there any info on where to purchase it? OR, if anyone out there isn’t a fan of that shirt- I am happy to swap or trade! Just let me know.

loots crate sells their boxes after a month or two if they don’t sell out, which they didnt. so look out for those.

also, regarding the review. i hope you either used your code already or don’t care for it and you should also include the artwork they put out in the inside of their boxes. i personally like this one alot, thought the hero one was better.

Alyssa

What size are you looking for? And what are you wanting to swap for it?

Reply ButtonReply

PA Anna

Chelsea – Try emailing Loot Crate if swap doesn’t work out for you. They ran a sale on past t-shirts before so it can’t hurt to ask if you can buy a t-shirt only. Also Loot Crate will post additional items that you can buy related to the box usually a few days after the crate arrives. They might post a similar looking t-shirt for sale from Super 7.

I’m debating whether to put the Sharknado booklet on my Amazon wishlist as a gift for my older son or try to swap for it. We love Sharknado 🙂

He passed on this crate because of the NB theme and isn’t big on horror.

Liz Cadman

Just checked the mini mag – it is a Loot Crate exclusive by Super 7. So I’m thinking you will have to swap for it.
