New Quarterly Curator & Holiday Box Hints

Quarterly has launched it's latest curator - Dave Asprey. I wasn't familiar with him before he was added to Quarterly, so in case you are in the same boat, here is a description from Quarterly:

Dave Asprey is the latest curator to join Quarterly! Dave is a biohacker, author, entrepreneur and the founder of Bulletproof. His boxes will be focused around increasing human performance, helping you lead a healthier, stronger, happier life. The first box focuses on sharpening the mind.

Biohacking is about using available technologies to take control and enhance your performance through biochemistry and your nervous system. As Dave puts it: "These aren’t technologies to cheat or to be less human, they’re technologies that let your brain do all the things it wants to do anyway, and give you the ability to be not just a better worker, screw that noise, but give you the ability to be a better person."

Quarterly also gave hints on what will be in upcoming Holiday Boxes:

Chef Ludo's next box will be French Holiday themed and will be filled with traditional goods and more.

CreativeBug's next box will feature everything you need to host a cookie exchange.

Andrew Zimmern's next box will focus on all things smoked, from sweet to savory, perfect for holidays.

Remember, use coupon code FIRSTBOX10 to save $10 off your first Quarterly subscription!

What do you think of the holiday box theme spoilers? I'm definitely keeping my Chef Ludo box to find out what's in the French Holiday box!

Quarterly cancelled Creative Bug. I do wish they will bill Eva Schrivo which they tell me every week it is either the week of billing or will be soon. While I am at it, I would like a MSA spoiler and a Bianca Jade spoiler 🙂 Pretty Please 🙂 🙂 🙂

“Trust me, it makes us sad and blue that we won’t be fulfilling your box. Thank you for taking a chance on us and supporting us with your curiosity and good taste. Starting soon, we will be releasing a whole lot of holiday projects and goodies on our site in addition to our regular art and craft classes. So we’d like to offer you a free month of Creativebug.”

There is a code, but I do not know if it requires credit card information. I may check it out later to find out.

I would most love to see a nice throw blanket in the MSA holiday box! My dream MSA holiday box wishlist includes: throw blanket, a letterpressed 2015 calendar, a set of 2 pretty but simple mugs that are nice to hold, a candle in a nice spicy winter scent that isn’t a “holiday scent,” and a thing or two that I had no idea I needed until I got it. Just dreaming aloud. 🙂

I can hardly wait to get Liz’s box since I missed the first one. It has been interesting to read about the process with Quarterly and I am impressed at how much work and care you have put into your box and it showed. Thank you for your hard work and dedication for both your box and My Subscription Addiction. I have learned so much and have found some great boxes thanks to you. I returned my Chef Ludo box but did sign up for the November box as I wanted to give it one more chance as I always believe in second chances. Hope he brings more of his creativity and spirit to this box.

I was tempted to order Dave’s box when I received the promo yesterday since Im always interested in doing exercise with my brain. However, Im afraid that the box will have a Luminosity subscription that I already have. I will wait and see if there aren’t items I already use/have and if its still available I will putchase.

I wasn’t impressed with Checf Ludo’s first box, but I feel like he probably learned his lesson, especially since it seems like so many people asked for their money back and expressed their general disappointment. I love holiday items, and the thought of French themed holiday box makes me so excited! I decided to sign up for this box, and I really hope I don’t regret it. At least I know Quarterly is so great with full refunds if you’re not happy. But I really want this box to be as great as I hope it will be!
