BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – September 2014

My box arrived with half of the perfume and two pans of the Cairo palette shattered, one of them was the only suitable blending shade for me 🙁 I also got TT hyperlight which I had already received in June, but because I changed billing info and had to un-sub. then re-sub. their system had me as a new subscriber so I got the repeat. The Hyperlight had a pink undertone and doesn’t work with my skin coloring, really wished I had the mascara instead.

I contacted them and they responded that they couldn’t replace the damaged items and gave me charms instead. For the Hyperlight, they basically admitted their billing system was antiquated and resulted in me getting duplicate items and was advised to swap with someone….not too happy about this as any sort of swapping will cost me extra $$ to ship.

I love boxycharm. They are by far my favorite subscription box of all. I was a little disappointed this month because my perfume leaked out, but I emailed them about it so hopefully something can be done. I received the Cairo Coastal Scents palette. I was hoping for the Beijing palette, but I’m super happy with the Cairo colors too. I also got the red NCLA polish (I wanted the brownish color because I have so many reds, but at least this is like an orangey shade), the Tarina Taratino mascara (I kind of wanted the hyper light again since I have so many mascaras, but this is a great brand) and the Tarte lipsurgence gloss in Exposed. I wasn’t too crazy about the color of the gloss, it’s like a neutral for me and I have so many already, but I love Tarte and will definitely use it at some point. If they can replace the perfume I’ll be very happy with my box!

My first BoxyCharm box. The perfume is not for me even though I love the description of it (so sweet!), and it spilled on the box and packaging… My palette was goooorgeous (Beijing!) but it crushed. I think the post office must have played football with my package! I sent a note to customer service and hopefully will get a replacement for the palette. (The perfume, they can keep!)

Tipsy gloss (which is a little sticky at first, but I love the color and the texture improves). Orangey red polish, so maybe that for a pedicure.

I’m not quite sure how to use the eyebrightener — I’m super pale and on me it looks like I wiped calamine lotion under my eyes! I have a feeling I’m doing it wrong…

They had several shades for eye shadow. Example Beijing, London, Paris, Chairo and more!!!

There were 3 colors of nail polish. The grey-ish, cream-ish and a red (orangy red) more red.

Several colors of very pretty Tarte lip gloss… Tipsy had a tad tint of pink (little color). There were others like Brushing bride, etc.

I wish that we could pick are colors though!

I’m super happy with this service! Fantastic deals and I would never cancel BUT some things they need to work on.

I’ve heard people complain about not being able to change there address either and having to contact customer service many times and not being able to change billing info. So in turn having packages misdelivered. This is just annoying. There are tons and tons of these complaints.

I received my 2 boxes due to a billing problem when I resigned back up (before the wait list) phew! 🙂

I received two lip glosses both in the shade tipsy (ah 🙁
it gives a light tint and is sticky but it is Tarte. 🙂

2 eye shadows in Cairo and Beijing (prefer beijing) these are pretty nice and the packaging adorable. One of the pallets had one small eye shadow damage to 1.

2 mascaras (after there facebook post they were sending some newbies the hyperlight instead of the mascara and I would have liked one. I signed up a month after the box that offered the hyperlight so I don’t have it and heard good things. BUT this is seriously one of the BEST mascara’s I’ve ever used seriously!!! I have found a new favorite mascara. Since receiving two boxes the hyperlight would have been great. 🙁

The perfume in Hello by Harvey. I am so glad to have this in full size. Yay!:) Ipsy had it this month and I’m happy not to get it in ipsy. I love the scent. It is really sweet and may not be right for some and is a little too sweet and I did get a headache slightly but I like the scent. It’s really nice! 🙂

I received the nail polish in Model Behavior and the Red color.

All in all I’m always super happy. I would have loved two different shades of lipgloss and the hyperlight in one box and mascara in the other but I’m still satisfied.

I found out something via Facebook that I do not like. They have no way to update billing info and I’m getting a new bank next month so I’ll have to cancel and resub to be on there WAITING LIST. I actually already have the bank account but money does not go in until the 3rd next month and I already signed up for direct deposit. I’m very disappointed in some of there requirements in that.

I am new to sub boxes. I use nioxin due to my hair needs, what should I do when I get shampoos but still want my review points? Is there any way to NOT get shampoos?

This was my first boxycharm box and I am loving it! I wanted a box with more makeup & less beauty products and this was exactly that. The perfume smells wonderful & I love all things Tarte. Would have liked different colors (got London) in the eye shadow but I’ll still use it.

I am so excited for the box and I just knew they would end up doing a wait list soon. Last month sold out and last I checked there were only a few of these left. I get paid on the 3rd so hope they will bill me then so I’m not booted to the wait list. I’m super excited as I needed new eye shadow and I have the eye shadow brush coming from ipsy. I also love lip gloSs and I have been wanting to try Harvey Prince and it’s full size. Tarino Tarintino is so luxurious and the mascara looks great and the packaging adorable. The least exiting item for me is nail polish. I’m looking for this grey shade and my next choice would be cream. 🙂 I love all of my subs but boxycharm puts ipsy/Birchbox/ etc to shame. Hands down my favorite sub and second being Blush Beauty Mystery box which I cancelled for a month. 🙂

I just got my boxycharm today. Luckily my perfume didn’t break, it was wrapped up well in bubble wrap. I love the palette colors, but they’re so dark for me, I’m very fair skinned. And the nail polish is a nude color, don’t care for it at all. The palette is in London, I’d be willing to switch for Cairo or Beijing if anyone is interested?

Just saw on Facebook that they are now starting a waitlist to subscribe. Glad I’m already a subscriber. For me Boxycharm is the best beauty box out there. You should get on the waitlist asap, word seems to be spreading about how awesome this box is!

Can’t wait to get this box, I haven’t gotten any tracking numbers for any of my boxes yet and I’m getting a little upset! Patience is definitely not my strong suit!

I was so excited for this box, but my palette arrived shattered and the perfume spilled all over the box 🙁 I was happy to see I got the London palette because that’s what I was hoping for, so I hope they can replace the items. I sent them an email, so we will see.

I wasn’t sure I signed up for this one, I thought i did but they don’t have me in the system for some reason. I just received a box today so that answers my question I guess. I loved my box, all of the colors are just perfect for me so I lucked out in that regard. The perfume, i got a sample from birchbox a while ago and wore it to work yesterday and had tons of compliments on it, men and women were asking me what i was wearing. Now, I just have to hide it so my daughters don’t steal anything from it!

After seeing the spoilers I gave in and subscribed. This looks like it will be much better than the birchbox I cancelled. Can’t wait to see what palette I receive!!

You got the exact box I’m hoping for!! Mine is still stuck in shipping in Florida… I like in Texas. Guess I’ll see it next week!

I went and signed up immediately after reading this review. Harvey Prince Hello is my favorite perfume and the box costs less than the perfume, so everything else is just a bonus on top of that! I love love love Tarte products and am so excited to get the lip gloss!

I love the eye shadow colors, I hope I get that one. I also love the perfume, I just tried a sample of Hello from a Birchbox sample this weekend and adored it. Wish it were bigger though, but still awesome!

I LOVE ncla polish and I agree this is a cool shade. (I am currently wearing Mostly Sunny with a Chance of Sprinkles which I adore… ). I’m also one of the few who loves perfume samples. But I have soooo much mascara, lip gloss, and eyeshadow that I couldn’t possibly use more. So while I’m thinking of signing up for this once I cancel ipsy, I’m glad I didn’t get this box. Great value though!!!!!
